Irihi didn't seem to mind so much the injury to his face. However...

"L-lily!" (Expression: ;_; ) The white wolf pup huffed, kicked up some dirt, and took off.

Ouch. That definitely hurts more any day than the scratches or bite. A gloomy aura settled now, as Irihi curled up at the corner of the vendor depressingly and poked at mushrooms. Where did those mushrooms come from anyways? Well, anyways, that was what he did as the monkey still rather suspiciously glanced at him over its shoulder.

"Whoa now, girl..." Said Juuri, not unkindly, as she picked up Lailah, who went her way. Gently, she petted the wolf pup on her head. "Heh. He didn't mean it." She whispered. This wolf pup...a wild wolf. Just how had that child...or perhaps... "He's...a very easy person to please, isn't he?" That's why you follow him, right? Because he is very kind... A mischievous gleam seem to glitter in Lailah's beautiful ruby orbs.

Megumi was still smiling, seeming more at ease --as relaxed as the jounin could be in this place-- She watched Juuri pick Lailah up and begin talking to the pup. Psh. Bullshit. You're just watching her Shut up, you vile parasite. An embarrassed blush flushed Megumi's hidden cheeks, and she forced herself to look away, slipping in beside her and speaking softly. "Are you hungry? I think we should get something to eat before we leave. It's on me." Megumi had plenty of money to spare. In fact, she couldn't recall the last time she had spent any money before she killed Hajime. and then she came in to even more money.

A soft, gentle smile to Megumi. "Ah...I can't impose like that." She gently rubbed Lailah's head, and the young wolf gave a content whine before she snuggled closer to her. Juuri...she always had an unnaturally strong connection with nature and with animals. All because of her bloodlimit. That connection...which has cost her dearly. But why does Irihi...why can that child smile so openly?

"Pardon me...?" One of the townsmen, an elderly man, politely addressed the newcomers. "Are you shinobi?"

"Chief! We don't need to beg for help yet!" Yelled out another.

"Silence." Snapped the old man.

"Yup. We're from Konohagakure no Sato, why?" Irihi piped up. Well, technically, Juuri-san wasn't but since they were in Fire Country's borders, it was safer...

The chief of the town looked calmer at those words. "Thank goodness..." But that did not alleviate the worry in his next words. "We tried contacting Konoha for help several times..."

In such a peaceful town...

"What's the matter?" Irihi asked, warily.

"Really, it's not a-" Megumi had dropped and entire foot-and-a-half off of their height, his feet spread, his muscles tensed, and there were two high-pitched whispers of sound as he primed his blades for the draw. Megumi didn't relax at all, standing --much like a bodyguard-- in the first place he/she had been standing: just in front of and to the right of Juuri. The calculations had been made, and the lots cast. Megumi was the only expendable one in this crew. But whether it was the mathematical solution or it was Megumi's personal feelings, it had been decided.Megumi looked like a child protecting their jounin-sensei. In fact, that's exactly what it looked like. no one would suspect (save for another shinobi) that Megumi was a jounin. Megumi's eyes were locked on the lead villager, both green and blue calculating the series of strikes that would bring Megumi back to this same position and strike all the villagers in the same instant. They didn't even relax when the villagers stated their case. Megumi trusted Juuri's judgment on this, not her own.

"Because we live by the gulf and so close to the equator...the intense warmth of the sun is generally enough to evaporate some of the water and create adequate rainy seasons." Explained the chief. "However, ever since a year and half ago...the shore waters have receded and a terrible drought had lasted for so long. Whatever little rain that did fall...was too acidic for the crops." A soft pause. "Though we live close to water, though the seas provide abundant fish...the waters of the sea itself is incapable of sustaining life. This town thrives on its reservoir of clean water."

"Acidic rain?" Irihi looked curious. That jogged something in mind... Oh! That's right... Nyame-sama said something about the battle between the Fire Master and Konoha. Clouds that rained burning fire...though the Fire Master took care not to damage the village, even though the battle had lasted outside Konoha forest's territory...could it be possible that...?

"Hey, jii-chan, surely you can't mean..."

"Yes. Accumulated and distilled from ground water. Though the lower terrain is too rugged for us to create a direct irrigation canal to Konoha's rivers, the rock is porous...and it gave our town the cleanest water in all of Fire Country...however now..."

So quickly?

The calamity draws closer...and this time...not even the Senju clan will be able to stop it.

Why was she even helping to save that village?

A village and country not even her own...

But because they were kind to her.

"Can you show us the reservoir?"

Megumi forced herself to stand upright, two more whispers as she slid her blades once more into their saya. She took a deep breath and forced herself to think of the countryside. No people. Soon, there will be no people... You know, one day you're going to start thinking like me, and we're just going to kill the planet. When that day comes up, you're free to talk strategy with us. Until then, keep quiet about it. His eyes lit up You mean it!?!? He kept quiet for a while, plans running through his head and not through his mouth. A very unusual happening.

"Ugh..." Irihi winced, as he stepped away from the reservoir. The stench of acid...it was almost strong enough for him to feel the stinging burn against his skin. Of course, his nose and senses were much stronger than any other around...his Inuzuka legacy. Quickly, his hands formed and found their way through the seals for the Byakugan.

"Byakugan!"

The pressure surrounding the boy increased as chakra expanded his vision and the familiar lines of his doujutsu took their place. His vision darkened to grayscale tones and the surrounding chakra of both the Suna Sannin and Megumi-sensei, as well as the smaller amounts of the townspeople, took the colour of burning green, while the chakra from the surrounding plantlife, occasional release occasional drifts of yellow.

The water... Just as he had thought. There was faint traces of human chakra there, but it was present...

"Ash product burning." He said quietly, as the lines of his doujutsu faded.

No normal human being would be able to cast their technique to spread so far...unless... "Was there a shinobi battle in this area?" She politely asked the chief.

"No, miss. We however did hear Konoha and neighboring Suna had certain troubles."

Troubles? Could it be related to that...?

But she didn't dwell on it.

Slowly, she took off the bandages on her arms, and as they slipped off, her special rune pattern was revealed: on the back of her hands was the pattern of a black swan, the bottom had two black dots (like on Kimmimaru's forehead) and a serpent-like tail curled around her arm snaked upwards and ended below the shoulder. She held her arms before her (in an X) and as she concentrated, the black pattern glowed blue.

Water. Water burst all around her, taking the shape of a giant dragon.

Her waterforce spirit.

"Can you fix this?" She asked, aloud, to the great dragon spirit. "Do whatever you find necessary." The dragon’s eyes glowed brilliant blue before it split into two, the first delving into the poisonous water of the reservoir while the second arched overhead: into the skies and disappeared into the clouds. The clouds stood still and blackened, before rain fell.

"B-but miss..."

But the chief could not continue - the water of the reservoir was purifying!

And this rain...it was pure water...

Megumi stood by Juuri's side, anticipating the immense drain this could have on the Priestess' chakra reserves. It was amazing to see, but Megumi kept his/her eyes locked on the priestess to ensure that she would be fine. Judging her well-being with her gaze, Megumi found herself watching a little too closely again, ignoring the fact that Irihi's byakugan was activated, and he could see her watching the priestess with something approaching reverence. He might not know it at the time, but it wasn't reverence at the amazing technique.

"Uwah!"

Irihi stumbled back in surprise, as water surrounded Juuri and converged to take on the shape of a great dragon. Power...there was great power present in the form of that dragon... Power Juuri gave to it, so that it could take physical form. For a moment, it hovered majestically behind the shamaness. She spoke to the spirit as if she would to another human being.

That part did not surprise Irihi...somehow...a part of him, deep inside, knew that this spirit was much more than the spirits of the wind that always followed Juuri. This was something much more majestic, much more beautiful...with an aura of ancient wisdom...

Chakra, chakra in the rain...but it was a purifying presence...so strong was the lifeforce in the water, that he could almost see it even without the Byakugan. The water... Irihi cupped out his hands to catch some and tasted it. It was delicious! Pure water...the best he had ever tasted...

The rain continued falling, softly.

What about the dragon that went into the reservoir?

Quickly reforming the seals for the Byakugan, Irihi cast his glance down. A small gasp of surprise escaped him. "Oh!" Natural chakra from the dragon spirit was mixing and neutralizing the hostile elemental chakra presence...

The water...it was perfectly neutralizing...no, it was completely purified!

But the cheers of the townspeople fell on death ears. Juuri held out for as long as she could...if she collapsed, the komoto dragon will disappear too... Her patience was well rewarded. The seals on her arms returned to their normal solid black colour. "Thank goodness..." She whispered, with a small smile.

And collapsed.

Overhead, the storm clouds cleared.

Megumi Cp: 1

Megumi vanished and caught Juuri, cradling her and slowing her fall in such a way that there was absolutely no force transferred into the shamaness. Megumi sighed softly, grinning. Selfless, aren't we? She made a decision and split herself into the only other clone she could manage, it pulling a collapsible umbrella out of an inside pocket and holding it over the woman. The real Megumi spoke to the Priestess, softly, warmly "Are you okay? That was a pretty amazing thing you did." Megumi was whispering, speaking only to Juuri.

For the second time, the Byakugan faded and his eyes, now normal, looked to Juuri with worry. "Are you ok?" Irihi asked. She had suddenly lost so much chakra...he didn't believe there was no danger for her involved with that technique.

"Y-yes...don't worry so much..." Yet even as she spoke thus, she couldn't held suppress a shudder...one did not lose almost all of their chakra in a moment's breath and be all right. Soft, but weak laughter. "Ah...it seems I have forgotten the water dragon spirit's price..." She winced slightly. The body's complaint too...having so much chakra suddenly stolen from them.

"Komoto also rebalanced the water levels in the atmosphere...the rain should come normally now..." She whispered.

The townspeople bowed to the Konohagakure shinobi and their chief respectfully inclined his head. "We don't know how to thank you miss..." A soft smile from the elderly man. "Please. You and your companions will be always welcome in our humble village."

A light blush played on Irihi's pale cheeks, as the sun returned out. "That...that's a really pretty limit!" The halfblood child seemed happy, as he poked his head over the reservoir. The water's vapor didn't hurt his skin anymore...

It was certain...this child greatly venerated the "creation" limits. This was the first time he had seen the Fujiko's great komoto dragon spirit...but it had not ceased to amaze him.

Megumi smiled softly, picking the priestess up and carrying her into the cover of a building's canopy. Megumi was ignoring the people, concerned more with the well-being of their companion than the public relations of what could (for all they knew) be a mute genin and a village of people he/she'd probably never see again. Not hardly at all audible, Megumi continued whispering, "Show off." With a quiet grin, Megumi sighed softly, continuing her conversation "Are you sure you're not hungry?" Juuri was human, at least... Megumi thinks she's human... Food is required by everything that lives, so it shouldn't really matter if she was human or not... She had chakra, so she had to have some way of maintaining those levels. That was that.

It wasn't that she didn't eat. It was just that when she did, it was done very rarely and she consumed very little. Just enough for sustenance...or maybe even a little under. Maybe it came out of habit of living in the desert. Or maybe... "For a long time..." Her soft voice drifted off. "I hated Fujiko clan." She struggled to sit up. "Even if it was just a little...I'm glad that my kekkai genkai could be of some use."

"At no little cost to you." Megumi was still smiling, helping Juuri to sit up. "But if your kekkai genkai has done nothing else for the world, it's given the world you. And that's no small gift." Ugh. I'm nauseous. Wake me when it's over. Megumi was watching the woman who she still had in her arms. Not carrying, per se, but supporting... More accurately, she was waiting to support her. Just in case. She really is gorgeous...

Something unreadable flickered over her features. Pain? Perhaps at something from the past...? "It...is nothing special. A dormant limit..." Came the soft, whispered words. "The waterforce summoning kekkai genkai is among those... As a member of the Fujiko family...such a thing was unacceptable..." Unacceptable? Even sitting, there was a regal air in her posture...not even the slightest slouching. Fujiko must've been among the noble families of Ame, like Hyuuga clan was to Konoha. However...what could she possibly mean? Or like Uchiha clan perhaps, in order to awaken a great power...

"I abandoned Ame and the Fujiko name long ago."

A sacrifice of equivalent value?

"To awaken my limit...my clan Elders stole something much more meaningful to me..." She was shaking but...from fury...? The pattern her waterforce spirit had took...black swans. She didn't understand back then but now...

Do you know why the swan sings before its death?

"Because I had tried killing the Amegakurian council...to avenge my teammates...who were sacrificed 'for my sake'..." A soft pause.

"A long time ago...when my vision was still small...all that mattered was to call forth the komoto..." Her soft voice trailed off. "...when I finally gained it...I realized what I had lost was far more precious... Slipping through the fingers, like water cupped in hands...if I had known..."

...for them to live would have been much, much better...

"Ah..." Her eyes widened slightly. She had spoken too much. "My apologies, for pressing on an unpleasant story..."

Outside, Irihi was speaking to the village chief. He had an inkling Juuri had applied for the next leaving ship...however... Chakra fatigue could be a dangerous thing and at least from what he had seen through the Byakugan...both Megumi-sensei and Juuri-san should rest. "Chief, when will the next ship after the closest departure leave for Suna?" A soft pause. "Cause...well..." You're a shinobi, don't talk so much. Irihi instead looked rather uncomfortable, as his gaze casted aside.

"The next ship leaves in a couple of hours. And the departure after that, in the evening." Said the not unkind old man. "Please. Rest well until then. Would you like anything to eat?"

Chakra...chakra healing...

"Do you have anything organic?"
