Both Aimi and Akane looked up from their search and trotted over to him and their little red kit in his hand. They both looked to each other and seemed to smile, and Aimi started grooming the little red kit in his hand with her tounge.
The other kits had continued to play with each other with their little warbling noises.
Akane nodded, and lowered his head in a bow to the Merlin.

As she meditated, the world around her slowly started to fade out.
She found herself flying. She found that she was a great bird, with a great wingspan of gold and red feathers. Her chest was covered in golden red down, and her tail feathers had a pair of very nice peacock trailing blowing in the wind behind her. She felt free.
She was soaring over a grand grassland, full rolling hills covered in tall dry grass. Trees grew here and there.
She saw a path winding it's wayover and between the hills, and she saw someone walking along the path... They were a dot of red in a wide sweeping sea of gold and green...

At first, all she could tell was that the world around her seemed to dull out until there was only the whisper. Then, even that vanished. The sky was her's. She knew it like no other winged creature could. She knew it as a Phoenix, with a million lifetimes of wisdom and experience to guide her wings. Her home was close by and she was returning from an earlier hunt to rest and view the humans from her perch on high. However, she felt a stirring of the natural energies below her and looked down to see a spot of red among a field of gold. Curiosity got the better of her as Kitsune were rarely seen in these parts, and her current lifetime had yet to encounter one. Thus, she gave a warning cry before making a graceful decent to the fields below. It wouldn't do to simply drop in unannounced.

Likewise Merlin bowed and smiled at them kindly, allowing Aimi to take Rakia from his arms to groom her child. The rest of their visit was filled with reminiscing, laughing, and enjoying each other's company. The scene faded with Merlin waving good bye to his friends as they sailed away on the boat. ------------------------------------------------------------ During the night Ratchet shifted uncomfortably clinging more and more to Silvia for protection. Just as he thought the odd dream was over with another randomly appeared afterwards... ------------------------------------------------------------ "No no no!!!" Merlin stated with anger to his pupil. "You have to feel the magic in your veins Rakia! Now...concentrate! Put your heart into the spell!" Merlin and a now teen age kistune were out in the snowy back yard of his tower. He had created snowmen for her to use her magic spells on, and even though she was doing a good job, Rakia was still kind of sloppy. Merlin was a hard, but kind, teacher. Her parents knew how harsh his training was and how hard of a teacher he was when they asked him to teach one of their children the art of arcane. Still he was proud of Rakia, she was a fast learner and had the drive to keep up with the spry old wizard. Out of all the pupils he had tried to train over the years, she was the only one that stuck by him.

It was a Kitsune indeed, who looked up at the grand Phoenix. As the phoenix decended close, she saw the Kitsune was in human form for this moment; wearing a complex and unusual light armor that could only be Minos work.
Her emerald colored eyes were sunken in, and looked slightly red; as if she had been crying for a long, long time. At the sight of the grand phoenix, she gulped and looked like she was trying not to burst into tears again. The young Kitsune girl was panting in the snow. Her blood red fur had molted, revealing a much fluffier and thicker white coat.
She looked at the snowman again, her eyes narrowing. She then closed her eyes and lowered her head slightly, before taking in a deep breath. Her fur started to stir as a breeze started to form around her. hen it started to stand on end as electricity started to crackle along the tips of her white fur...

"Yessss! That's it!" he praised. Walking over Merlin placed a hand on her shoulder. "Magic is all about feeling the element. Focus, let the element flow through you. Focus your power on the target." he commanded gently. Stepping back he watched in surprise as the snowman was suddenly exploded with lightening. Laughing he looked over at his ragged pupil and smiled. "I think it's time for a break. Perhaps some tea and something to eat would suffice? What say you Rakia?" he asked with a smile. It was amazing how quickly she had grown. Kistune grew fast and already he had felt like she was his adopted grand daughter.

" Tell me, youngling... Why do you cry?" She asked the fox, curiosity checked carefully by caution. The garb of this particular kitsune spoke of many travels and experiences outside of her natural home. It was peculiar to say the least. Still, the sight of her face tugged at the heart of this Phoenix, who recognized it as true sorrow. Something dark plagued this hatchling, and such a thing would serve as very dangerous for any race.

It was a long time after that before they found all they could. The bodies on the shore were so many. Everyone was looking more exhausted by the time they were finished. And the sun was getting low. The current change had helped tremendously. The crowd of sirens looked at the shore from the sea, waiting. Sybil was on one of the rocks, closest to the shore with her mother watching Rakia and her discuss what was to be done. Rakiahad spoken of a funeral pyre. Something that big could engulf the whole island.

The Kitsune's face split into a grin when she opened her eyes and looked at the snowman. Looking up at him, she nuzzled his hand with her head. It wouldn't be long, only a few more months, before she could shape shift into a more human form. Until then, she relied on a little illusion to speak for her; like the one forming on her shoulder now.
Yes!! It looked like a little Japanese geisha doll that moved and smiled like a real person. It was perched on her shoulder. I would love some tea, Alfer-Sensei!
She pranced about his feet as they walked back towards the entrance of the tower. She looked away from the grand bird, tears streaming down her face again as she choked back a sob.
I have traveled the world with my own two feet. Every peoples I have come across, save for one, ended up slaughtered in-front of my eyes. She shook slightly. I am plagued by nightmares each night of the events that wiped them all out. I can barely sleep.
And indeed, the poor fox looked exhausted...

Lady Aryana of the Seelie Rakia, who had aided the effort with her magical control over currents, was now standing on the beach, in human form again. Her long nine tails were out; and the fox woman looked nearly heartbroken, while she looked out upon the bodies. She looked like she was about to burst out crying at any moment. But after a long moment she set her face and was stern. Sybil never saw someone look stronger then Rakia at that moment.
Looking to the sirens and the mermen, and to the queen, she spoke.
Who wishes to attend the funeral? She asked. Climb onto the sands and I will make you able to walk on land.
The queen swam forward and dragged herself ashore with no hesitation.
Sirens and mermen alike climbed ashore. Others stayed behind, not sure they wished to attend such a sad event. As Rakia watched them all, she closed her eyes and in a poof of smoke was a fox again. She stepped forward as the sirens crawled up onto the beach.

Nuria(as this phoenix had deigned to call itself in this life) took pity on the poor fox. Such hardships as this one had faced would tear any heart. Even that of a phoenix. " Then I offer you a time to rest, hatchling. Come... the sky awaits you." She declared, turning so her back was to the fox. Rare was the chance for one to ride a phoenix. It was an honor given to few, and Nuria knew this to be no normal kitsune. Her connection to the energies of the world gave her glimpses into the potential of this fox, and being able to witness such power was something she rarely had a chance to do. Still... she spoke of the death of more than 1 race. Nuria had had inklings of such a thing before. She had felt a number of grand losses over the past year from the winds. She made a note to give word to the others of her kind closest to her. Phoenixes tended to travel vast spans of the world, only rarely settling in any one place. As such, they were spread out across the land. This made contact between phoenixes rare outside of the occasional feathers they sent each other, which served as their means of communicating.

Thank you. She said, before stepping forward to climb upon the back of the great Pheonix who had landed before her. She climbed carefully and wrapped her arms firmly but gently around the Phoenix's neck.
Closing her eyes, she buried her face into the neck of the great firebird, as if the bird's warm, soft feathers could make the horrible visions go away...

Nuria took only a moment to adjust to the added weight before taking off. Her inner flame provided a comforting warmth through her feathers, despite the cool winds brushing by, similar to a mother cradling her newborn child. No words were spoken during the flight to her nest, as there was nothing to say, and it was only a short flight before Nuria was landing gently on a tree hanging horizontally out of a cliff. At the base of the tree, there was a shallow cave that looked like some giant had taken a scoop out of the cliff face. Inside was a nest of twigs, branches, and feathers, large enough to hold the both of them and more. Nuria walked to the base of the tree and turned to let the poor thing down. " We are here, young fox."

Sybil pulled herself onto the beach with the others. The men that came would dry and return to the way they were but it was a rare gift to be granted legs. She was curious. She nodded to a few behind her when she made eye-contact, but did not speak otherwise.

Phantoms Request You're very eager! I like that. Be patient, be patient, I'm getting to it! The young fox, who knew she was nothing more then a kit to the great Pheonix, climbed down from the bird's back. She looked at the nest and smiled a tiny bit... which in all honesty had been the first time she had smiled in a long time.
She looked to her noe gentle companion and smiled, before her eyes flashed gold. In response the Kitsune slammed her eyes shut and started wiping away her tears.Lady Aryana of the Seelie For the men, indeed, purple flame appeared around them, and they were human once again. The fox stepped forward and rested her hand upon the Queen's head, before turning away. For a moment, the queen was engulfed in pale purple flame, and stepped out of it a moment later, with a pair of very human legs.
She smiled.
the fox moved in and out of the sirens, touching them on their head, their shoulders. After a few moments she reached Sybil, and held out her hand with a smile, as if to help her up.
