For a while, it had felt like Mimsy was beginning to kind of understand people in general. It seemed as if she could determine the things that they might say or do, and she felt mostly confident mimicking those things. Today, however, was filled to the brim of words and actions that seemed to do nothing but prove her wrong for thinking that. Like Lucky agreeing to be picked up and thrown. Or Robert indicating that he still intended to pick him up and throw him, despite all of her head-shaking. "Wait, no," she weakly tried to interject, but she was kissed on the cheek and told to relax instead. " No," she tried again, but they were already moving. "Nnnnoo..." she groaned into her hands, which were now pressed firmly over her face. Sighing, she wondered why it was so difficult for them to listen to her. Why? It would be infinitely easier for everyone involved if they just bent to her will.

OFFENSIVE LOOKING FOR DEFENSIVE Solomon nodded back to Jordan. "Seems like that'd make sense. Guess there is some logic around here." The same logic that made him want to name the Kaiju Insanity Titan 'Spot'. Albeit his had been more in good jest than anything else.
"Well then, looks like it's time to get t'work again." He grinned, as if this was still all in good fun, as Peyton began to drag him off, waving with one hand to the other two. "See ya'!"
Peyton didn't have to try too hard to get Solomon to follow along after her as he willingly trailed to the site they'd been sent to, only to watch some lady launching hunters at the thing. While he became a human shield, Solomon couldn't help but look really excited.
Sunman! Sunman! Let's fly! Flying, Sunman! FLYING!!!
He wasn't the only one.
"I want to be on that thing right now."

MIST LOOKING FOR EITHER DEFENSIVE OR OFFENSIVE I CAN BE WHATEVER U WANT BBY
Cass knew better than to seek out her husband at this time. The last thing Marcus would want to do is launch her at the Kaiju Insanity Titan. Never the less, Cass knew she needed to either hook someone up to the machine or be hooked up to it and launched (which sounded fun and horrifying at the same time).
Thus, Cass made sure to get herself at least somewhat up high before she cupped her hands around her mouth and hollered:
"MIST LOOKING FOR PARTNER."

He knew she was reigning it in, knew she was trying not to show her nerves. Gale stepped towards the launcher and held out a few of the straps towards her, his fingers gently squeezing hers in a silent attempt at reassurance. In spite of the fact that they were facing the imminent destruction of his home for what was probably the third time, he was more concerned about Stormy's safety at the current moment.
Gale gave her a wan smile. "Better show you that style then," he said, lightly teasing, as he lifted his arms.

Jordan's hand on her shoulder made her jump, and she almost shied away from the touch until she realized who it was and what they were saying. She looked up at the other Sun, and she gave a small nod. The suggestion wasn't really needed, she wasn't willing letting herself get strapped in to be launched at the insanity titan. "Right." Her fingers curled just a little tighter into Solomon's coat, not quite holding him back, but clearly not at all happy with the idea of being left alone. She could understand his excitement though. If she hadn't been injured she would have felt the same, but the desire to live was outweighing any thrill seeking urges at the moment.

He lookdd up when he heard someone shouting near him. He handed over a set of daggers to one of the other Hunters before waving his arm. "Over here! Which are you doing?" Sure he'd probably be very little help again but he'd signed up for this and like hell he was going to chicken ouy just because of a giant acid monster.

Solomon touched Peyton's arm lightly upon feeling her grip tighten on his coat. "Hey, I'm good at flying. It'll be fine." He assured her. He really was good at flying - especially in unsafe ways! Cass smiled at the trainee that was waving his arms and calling to her. "I don't mind doing either or." She took a glance at the young man's coat on approach before adding - "I'm used to working as a Moon, so I can string you up if you're lookin' to get launched." she grinned confidently.Grymoire I can't do any rolling stuff until I get home in abouttttt 6ish hours, but Cass'll do stringing up then!

[Life Division]Defensive Roll: 5 “Not sure how those two things go together, but it’s a deal.” Shiloh watched as Ian prepared himself, and he felt a little pang of sadness when he finally spoke. Of course, who would want to do this? Shiloh would have easily taken the Mist Hunter’s place, but that’s not how the cards had fallen. Instead, he thought of Mimsy, smiling as he remembered her wakeup call on the beach. She had known what to say, and had put his concerns at ease, and now it was his turn to pass that feeling on to someone else. Borrowing her idea, he gathered up a glob of blue slime with a finger, and wiped it deftly onto Ian’s cheeks, like some sort of war paint. “There, now you’re ready.” Shiloh smiled, and stood back, moving to station himself at the launcher. Aiming the thing was a lot more difficult than it looked, and he had to pause briefly to readjust his calculations. When he was ready, he took a deep breath. “Here goes… See you when you get back, buddy.” As he launched friend, the pit of Shiloh’s stomach sank. He had faith, but all the same, he still wished that their positions could have been reversed. Then he would have known that Ian would be safe, never having left the ground. As it was, he stood watching, as if doing so and willing things to go okay might somehow change the outcome.

He nodded. "I take it you've been around a bit? I hate to admit it but I've only been out of my pod a few days." Which had been way more interesting than he'd thought they'd be given being a 'newbie' and all. "I think I can do that though. I've bungied before at least." demon_pachabel that's cool. I'm won't be home till around 6 pm anyway

Al ran around desperately trying to figure out what he was meant to do now.... he was frightened and lost... and WHY IS THERE PEOPLE FLYING THROUGH THE AIR? He frantically looked around for a familiar face. Eventually, he found Noah in the chaos.
"Hey man, where the hell did our weapons go?!"

Oh yes, he really liked this one, especially the way she was able to grin in the face of danger, and keep up with the teasing and general banter. The peck on the cheek had his smirk turning all the smarmier, and if there had been more time and if they hadn't been in the middle of an epic battle with a giant creature that was threatening to destroy them all, he might have taken a longer pause to make sure she got a more proper send off. As it was, his hand hovered over that button until she gave him the signal to send her flying, and slammed down on it, watching with rapt attention as she flew through the air and landed on the things head. "Come on sunshine, you've got this." He muttered under his breath as he tried to watch the action from his far off viewpoint. Was he worried for her? Yes, but it was worry that he shoved to the back of his mind, not wanting it to distract, or eat away at him, or affect his own actions. Trynt must have caught on regardless of Finn's shielding, as he began to rumble small reassurances that the sun woman would be fine, that this is what they did, that her Fear shield would protect her and so on. In fact, the weapon seemed a little in awe, and slightly jealous of the fact that Finn himself wasn't getting right up in the battle as well, forced to stay back where it was ultimately safer. "Okay I think...ya, she's heading down. Oh s**t, she's heading down!" Was he supposed to help her in any way? He could see her rapidly approaching and for just a moment, he was frozen in place, wondering if he was meant to do anything. But what it really boiled down to in this situation, was that he was meant to be the hero, the adventurer, and he had just sent the princess off to do all of the work. The least he could do was give her a happy and safe return. So, stepping forward to where he thought might be the best place to catch her, he waited, and braced himself as he opened his arms and grabbed a hold of Fini, her body slamming into his with enough force to knock the air out of his lungs, though his arms still wrapped around her, and the momentum at least did send him into a rather stumbling spin before he collapsed on the ground with her on top of him. Aw ya. Nailed it. "Caught me some sunshine." He smirked up at her, for all the world behaving like he had totally meant for that to happen. "I have to say, you were pretty fantastic up there, and since I'm pretty damn fantastic myself, I would hazard to say that we make a pretty ******** fantastic team. Oh, by the way, your lips are blue, darling." From the peck on his cheek, obviously. Though he was half tempted to ask her if she needed help warming them back up, he somehow he managed to keep his mouth shut. He also felt like his ribs were crushed, but he'd keep that part to himself as well. It just seemed safer that way with a woman on top of him.

"Al!" Noah brightened. A familiar face! Not only a familiar face, but a familiar face belonging to one of the divisions that was doing the flying thing. "Come over here, I can help you!" He scooped up one of the dagger infusers and pushed it into Al's hands, then hauled him over to one of the launchers and started looping the straps around him. "I'm glad you came over here, I didn't know who to team up with for this. You know what you're doing, it's great to work with someone who's got it together."
Once he'd gotten Al strapped down safely (for certain values of safe), he gave the other boy a grin that he probably had no idea contained shades of budding-mad-scientist. "Ready!" he said, and trotted back to aim the launcher, biting his lip in concentration.

"Oh believe me," said Ian, trying to keep his voice light because if he didn't then he would start thinking about the impending jump. "They go together somehow, Shyduck, don't worry. And even if they don't, I'll find a way to make them go together."
His chest felt tighter than normal, and not just because of the straps. He could feel the panic starting to make his throat dry, but then he felt something cold and wet against his cheeks and opened his eyes to see Shiloh smearing goop onto his face.
Ian took a sharp breath, forcing another smile, though it was slightly less stiff than before. "Wish me luck, Shy," he said quietly and he wanted to say stop I don't want to do this, stop, let me off, but holding the dagger tightly in his hand, felt the rush of wind against his face as he was suddenly propelled violently forward.
It was simultaneously nauseating and awe-inspiring. Ian gritted his teeth together and tried to ignore the dizzying wave of fear as he arced upwards and then landed, with a bone jolting crash, onto the tail of the creature. His hands shot out, trying desperately to hold onto something, anything, and finally he found a handhold, stopping him from falling ******** hell."
Breathing heavily, Ian fumbled with dagger and jammed it forcefully into the nearest area he could find. Electricity shivered up his fingers, making them numb, but Ian was already clambering up to the wire to get back, his heart hammering in his chest. He slid his hands around the grappling hook, gripped it for dear life, and pushed off.
There was another dizzying moment in which he was flying through air and cold and Ian closed his eyes again, willing himself to just stay cool, to stay calm -
- and then his feet were slamming unexpectedly into the ground and Ian fell forward from the impact, staggering onto his hands and knees and gasping for breath - but he was alive.
