Ray smiled at Katriel as she hissed at the male, he wasn't sure if he'd take Leons suggestion over Katriels. Sure he wasn't keen on the fiery liquid but at least he would be able to think with the whiskey in his stomach. "I could always get us a variety of alcohol once the storm passes" John said not enjoying the sound of whiskey himself. He did prefer creamy alcohol as did his wife though she also liked malibu. So maybe some baileys irish cream would be a good thing to have with them.

"If you don't mind walking 10 miles in this weather, I'm sure you could," Katriel replied. "Sorry, John, but I kinda parked us in the middle of nowhere. I'll make sure to stop at a liquor store at the next town." "I'll take some whiskey," Leon said and got down a tumbler. "Maybe if I'm drinking this, my foot won't be so eager to leap inside my mouth." He poured himself a glass. Before he could drink it, Katriel stole the glass and took a quick swig, reducing the volume considerably. "Well, if you wanted a shot, all you had to do was ask." "Nah, I just needed a quick sip," she said with a smile. "If that was a sip, then the Pacific is a pond," Leon groused, but he couldn't help smiling. He took a sip of the whiskey from the same spot on the glass Katriel had. The amber liquor burned pleasantly down his throat and warmed his belly.

John looked out of the window and smiled, he had worked in conditions similar to what they were in now before Ray was born! Nodding at Leon he turned to smile at Katriel, "If you don't mind I think I will walk for more booze" he said inching nearer to his coat. Ray was frowning quietly to himself, so his options were whiskey or tranks? He could either be out cold and vulnerable or he could drink that foul liquid that he wasn't keen on at all. Not much of a choice in his mind. He had moved in the camper so that he was now huddled in a corner with his toy mouse which was now called 'Kat'.

Katriel shrugged. "Well, if you really want to get out, be my guest," she told John. "Just don't drip all over my floors when you get back." "Hey, Ray," Leon said softly. "I'm really sorry about my dumb-a** suggestion. Don't take it serious. I just thought if you slept through the storm, you'd feel better. It was stupid of me." "Absolutely it was," Katriel agreed as she kissed Ray on the forehead. "Here's your cuppa. Why don't we wrap up in a blanket and read something? Nothing better on a stormy night than a cozy drink and a good book."

He just hoped that the woman could look after his pup while he was out. Ray had never liked thunder storms even when he was young, he could remember Ray running into his and his beloved wife's bed in the middle of a thunderstorm. He could remember Ray hugging his old toy mouse and shaking in their bed. He smiled at the thought. Ray had only ever joined them in their bed when there was a thunderstorm. ☜♥☞☆·.¸¸.·´¯¯`·.¸¸.☆☜♥☞ ▄▄▄ ▄ ▄▄ ▂▃▅▆██▆▅▃▂ ▄▄ ▄ ▄▄▄ Ray looked up at Leon when he heard the male speaking to him, he gratefully took the cup from Katriel and drank deeply. He was still shaking as the flashes of lightning could be seen out of the windows and the crashes of Thunder could be heard overhead. He thought about it and wondered if she would read that book they had been reading before Leon joined the pack. He blushed at the thought of the book as he drank his cuppa. Maybe being able to sleep through the storm would be a good idea... he wouldn't have to be worried of being struck by the flashes outside. "Katriel what book were you thinking of?" he asked her still blushing brightly.▄▄▄ ▄ ▄▄ ▂▃▅▆██▆▅▃▂ ▄▄ ▄ ▄▄▄ ((Sorry knew there was something I was missing... thought I'd sent a reply... must not have worked... sweatdrop crying ))

"Well, we could keep reading the book we started," she said, glancing at Leon, "so long as you don't object." "What sort of book is it?" he asked. "Trashy historical novel," she replied. "Ooh, does it have the juicy bits?" he ask, waggling his eyebrows. "The juciest," she assured him. She retrieved the book and snuggled next to Ray. Then she gave Leon a quick synopsis and started to read.

Katriel read about the hero and leading lady's grand return to proper society, using the politics of their day and a love-at-first-sight fairy tale all to save the heroine from the villain who would buy her virginity. It was delightfully exciting and whimsical, and included several "juicy" parts. Leon sat on the edge of the bed, listening intently and trying not to move. The way Katriel's voice dipped low during the sultry sections had caused a tent to pop up in his pants, and he didn't want to reveal his discomfort to his pack-mates. It seemed odd to him that a woman as strong and independent and emancipated as Katriel would find so much enjoyment in trashy novels. But maybe most women--and at least one female werewolf--deep down, dreamed of romance and true love. Katriel placed the bookmark in the book just as the storm seemed to break. It was just raining now, hard and determined not to stop, but the lightning and hale had moved on. "Until next time," she said with a smile.

"I'm good," Leon cleared his throat. He didn't want to stand to reveal his discomfort. He just had to think un-sexy thoughts. Like colic surgery...hoof and mouth disease...rabid racoons...wolves tearing into a bison carcass...well, the wolves were sexy...espeically if they were red like Katriel, who was sexy as a woman and a wolf. Well, that didn't work. He was even harder now. Katriel fought back an impish grin. She knew that Ray was in a bit of a pickle...and from the sound and the smell of it, so was Leon. It was cruel of her to tease two men like that...but at the same time, it was a little intoxicating to know she could stir them both. She put the book away and stretched. "Come on boys," she said. "No need to fuss. You can take the first shower, Ray. I'm going to grab a carmel-carob bar for dessert. Anyone else want one?"

Katriel giggled softly, knowing what Ray was up to. "You ok, Leon?" she asked, winking at him. "You...you minx!" he accused. "You knew full well what that book would do to that poor kid." "He needs exposure to sex in a positive light," she defended herself as she got up and pulled out a carob bar. It was as close to chocolate as she could eat, and it satisfied her sweettooth. "And a historical romance is just the sort of fairytale he needs. Besides, you can't say you didn't enjoy it." "It's a shallow, idealistic, predictable scenario," he replied haughtily. "Give them 10 years of marriage and 4 kids, and our strapping hero and fair heroine will probably sleep in different rooms and pass notes instead of actually speaking to each other." "You're awfully cynical for someone who was just as aroused by the--what did you call it--'shallow, idealistic, and predictable scenario,'" she retorted. "Wha--no I'm not!" he spluttered, blushing. Katriel smirked. "The nose doesn't lie. You're so turned on right now." Leon blushed brighter. "But don't worry," she continued. "Take a wiff. You'll know that I am too. There are not many secrets in a pack. You learn to politely ignore somethings. Hopefully. My mate never let anything slide, the brute." "What was he like? That is, if you don't mind telling me," Leon asked. He hoped that talking about the shoes he intended to eventually fill would kill his flush of hormones. He cautiously sniffed, and was surprised that she was right--he could smell her arousal like a faint but intoxicating musk in the air. "He was...like a stereotypical football jock in front of the pack. Arrogant and physical in EVERYTHING," she replied, looking out the dark window as she remembered. "We fought almost all the time, but the makeup sex was amazing. He had black hair, black eyes, and tanned skin. He had the body of a comic book super hero only better. We were mates for just a few years before the accident." Then Ray came out of the bathroom, looking relaxed. Katriel broke off her reminiscing and smiled at him. "Feeling better?"

"Thanks, Ray, but I'm fine for the moment," Leon said. Talking about Katriel's former mate had done the trick. He was thoroughly intimidated, sexually. The guy sounded like the campus bullies in high school and college, and the way she had practically drooled when describing his physique made Leon feel...under developed in the muscles department. Looking for a topic change, he said, "Shouldn't your dad be back by now?" "Ten miles there, ten miles back, jogging at approximately 5 miles an hour," Katriel did the math out-loud. She noticed that Ray was avoiding her eyes like an embarrassed pup and could easily guess the cause. It didn't bother her. "It'll take him at least 4 hours to make the round trip, especially if he's laden down with booze. I don't think we spent that long reading." "We'll, we've certainly got more time to kill. I'm not tired enough to go to bed," Leon announced. "So what next?"
