He'd managed to escape the pit with the too-friendly section of titan, but having nothing but freezing cold water under the ice when it started to crack might be worse. Jordan ran for it. He could hear the cracking sound catching up to him. Closer, closer, too ******** close; he gathered up all his strength and jumped for it.

His hands slipped off the edge of the higher section of ice he'd been aiming for, and it was only by some miracle that he managed to jam the toes of his boots into a crack in the side of the floe and keep himself from falling. He was getting tired, and that worried him.

Nevertheless, it was climb or fall into the water. He climbed.

Given that the titan was the size of Rhode Island, it wasn't really a surprise that there were multiple eyeballs under the ice. It was still both disgusting and unsettling to fall on one.

The inevitable cluster of small tentacles getting interested was just getting annoying. Just don't, Ferros, please, Jordan said, and made his way to the side of the pit.

The weapon huffed with annoyance, but quieted.

The ice under his feet was tilting precariously. Tilting back towards the pit with the eye.

Nope. Jumping to the next floe now.

There was a hole in the ice a very short distance away from his landing point. Too short a distance. Jordan slid and stumbled.

How many eyes did this thing HAVE?

Well Dakota was glad that the Kraken went down. At least the tentacles.

He was so glad that he didn't even notice the ground break until his a** was hanging over a thing layer of ice and water.

And what the ******** was moving around down there? s**t...was that.

He held his hand up and screamed.

"BE FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE FREE WILLY!"



And as the tail flipped down, Dakota went flying up in the air and onto another piece of ice.

"Thanks willy!"

Julie's death had been difficult. Julie's death had been, for Sasha, very eye-opening. It had been shocking and ugly and a very tragic reminder that death was always looming, always watching, always waiting. She'd seen the way that grief rolled over her fellow hunters. It had been a complicated thing to deal with.

This - the doctor's disappearance and probable death - was ripping her apart. It was entirely too much for her to bear. She hadn't known H long, but in the time that he'd been in her life, he'd been more gentle and empowering than her own father had ever been. The doctor had been a man of his own faults; faults that he had blatantly admitted to. He'd been human. Imperfect.

And now he was gone.

Gone, deep into the swirling brine of the sea. Deep into the abyss, the mouth of the beast. Too much loss, too much death.. and for what?

"I.. I just.." She shifted, leaning closer against Jerry as she slipped her hand into her pocket. Withdrawing her hand, she held it out palm up. In the palm of her hand rested two objects: one bright yellow kazoo and next to it, the music player that the doctor had given her.

Sasha closed her fingers around the two items until her knuckles were deathly pale.

"W-what.. what can I do? W-what c-can we do? Jerry?"

She moved closer, reaching out to clutch at his scarf. Her voice, when she spoke next, was thick with emotion. The threat of tears ever-present.

"I-I'm so a-afraid."

Sasha burst into tears.

"We keep going. We're soldiers, that's what we do." He rasped, not looking away from the boiling frozen ocean and the sinking tentacles. "We keep... keep going." He didn't know what else to say. He was aware she needed him, needed the comfort, needed the support, but he was numb, the world a little foggy and distant around the edges. He didn't know what else to do but sit and wait.

You should find the others, Roar murmured distantly, somewhat worried about his Human partner simply sitting in the snow and waiting until he froze to death.

"We should find the others," He parroted weakly. They were stranded on an ice flow, though... it cold prove difficult unless it was drifting in the right direction.
