He would reach the edge of the forest as he came upon the cavern and the first imprint of mankind in this forest. For this was why they had come ...to gather materials from the cavern within ....the cave deep and dark ....was his next destination. To go around it, would take days ...weeks, if not months to accomplish as it sat before Raven.
It was time for him to take the next step forward.

A heavy set scowl marred Raven's face as he stepped toward the cavern mouth. He had hoped to encounter more in the forest then he had; surely his greatest advantage had been to fight and train out here in the wilderness. Not to mention that he was swiftly beginning to detest caverns...
Alas, this seemed likely to be his destination. A Metal Coat was after all metal. Where was metal easier to find after all, then beneath earth and mountain?
Still scowling, the boy proceeded forward. This was simply the next stretch of his adventure. Besides,he'd need to pass through the forest again to return to town anyway... [EDIT:....ah biscuits.]

Though the boy wouldn't have to go very far to discover a very interesting thing ...the cavern entrances ...was blocked. A cave in of some sort had happen there, and it would seem that he couldn't go more than a few feet within ....Raven might have detested this cave. But this is where he needed to go ...and with it blocked so was his chances of success.
A rumbling sound would come from behind him as something would fall from the ceiling. Round and huge, the boulder would slowly start to roll towards him inch by inch ...and with that passage in front of him blocked ....Raven was about to find himself in a world of pain if he couldn't figure out some way to deal with the rock.
Or if he couldn't deal with the rock, maybe a way to avoid it.
Considering that it went from the floor to the ceiling in turns of height and was as wide as the passageway. Things were looking very grim indeed.....as the attack came slowly forward.
((Out roll to avoid the boulder))

((As no theme is more appropriate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVNNhBtBbOs ))
((Alright, let's do this! ~puts on a familiar brown hat.~))In the case of most situations, the child would have simply ventured to run from the boulder, waiting until some part of the cavern grew smaller or larger to allow him escape from the boulder. As that was not the case however, the boy was forced to think on his feet.
Eyes darting about, the child searched for something, anything he could use to his advantage. He doubted he could simply cleave through the stone, and calling on Genn might very well cause more problems then it would actually solve it.
Then an idea struck. A crazy, foolish, brilliant idea. The sort of idea that made people grab the straight jacket, then stand in awe as the plan actually succeeded.
Leaning over, the child dashed forward, heading directly for the boulder instead of it. At the last second he dove, flattening himself into a depression in the floor. It was a slight variation in the cavern's surface, not nearly large enough to protect an adult...but a twelve year old? Well he was about to find out.
Pressing himself against the rocky surface of the caves floor, Raven sent a little prayer to Arceus and hoped for the best.

//SUCCESSFUL//
It would work as the boulder would continue it's roll and literally smash through the rocks of the cave in as it continues onwards. Disappear even further into the darkness as that same rock would become lodge in the floor that had collapsed a way down.
it would seem that Raven by avoiding the rock had literally cleared a path for himself. And he was now free to continue onwards into the darkness.
((Hahahaha, I should have guess...the music I mean))

Rising from the floor, the boy would take a brief moment to dust himself off. He didn't want the dirt to get in his way at a later date. Flying into his eyes or some such avoidable nonsense.
Luck had been on his side this time it would seem. The path was clear, and he would find himself able to continue onward.
Boots producing a mild clack against the stone, the child would proceed forward. It was time he search out what he'd come here for in the first place. [Yes you should have, considering I do that every time there's a boulder chase scene. xd ]2

Onward Raven would continue on to the darkness. He was glad this cavern wasn't quite as dark compared to the one he'd ventured into on the other end of the island. He wasn't particularly fond of not being able to see where he was going...
Perhaps he relied too much on sight however. Heightened senses were something possessed by somebody truly strong. The ability to merely sense the presence of an opponent.
Then again...it was dangerous to seek out things beyond ones ability. Such things would come to him in due time. Until then, he just needed to be patient and train. [EDIT:....ah biscuits.]

((Ah biscuits is starting to become your favorite term by now))
The head of the pokemon would pop out of the ground ...as it was quickly followed by more. A song that would rise from the floor to the ceiling would begin as they started to sing ...Diglett ..diglett ...dig.
Seven in all ...these Digletts that appeared ...as they circle around singing the same diggy song again. Though it would be one that stopped in his path, this one on his face was nothing but a frown.
He wouldn't let them pass not a moment more ...as one of the other Digletts actually fell though one of his brother's tunnels in the floor. The others would gather about ...as the one whom checked his injuries would disappear down the same shaft. Another would giggle, another diglett once the movement stop would go to sleep...while the last one quite shy would try to hide itself.
It would seem that Raven had stumble upon the seven Digletts, and the one that was challenging him was Grumpy himself.

Grey Moonfang IV ((Lunar...I rolled a 6. Diglett is 5. That's actually the second time you've done this cause that Scyther should have been a Skarmory...)) ((Slaps forehead, please just ignore that last post then)) The path though was still clear from the last boulder chase and the boy would find that nothing would move behind him. THe path remain clear at least for the moment as the distance sound of thunder could be heard echoing in the darkness. Since there was little chance it was the sound of the weather up above ...it would become clear...that the sound that he heard in the distances was probably either another cave in or another rock making the life of some creature quite miserable.

Though Raven had heard the sound clearly enough, he would quite evidently ignore it. So long as the object neither blocked his path, nor posed an immediate threat to his person, it wasn't his problem. Crime and dark deeds could be prevented. Natural disasters were another thing entirely.
Thus onward the boy would trek, in hopes of finding that which he sought in this cavern. ((It happens; especially this early in the day. Though I must admit the 7 Diglett was most certainly an interesting notion.))[EDIT:...and I repeat....ah biscuits.]

((I know ...I worked so hard on them too ..... crying ))
This time the rumble would come from a source much closer ....in fact right behind him ...as he came to an area where the pathway split. A move to the right or a move to left would decide whether he went upwards or down in this cavern and as the rolling rock would come into view as it came around the bend ...it was quite clear that he needed to choose a path and quickly.

Raven let out a mild curse as he heard the rumbling draw closer. So it seemed he would not have to evade a boulder once today, but twice. Lovely.
Looking at the paths, the child would arch a brow. Well the answer to this one was rather obvious. A boulder didn't exactly tend to roll upwards of it's own free will. Ducking to one side, the child would dart to the right in hopes of it being the upward path. ((~pats your head.~ I know how you feel. Just wait, maybe I'll roll Diglett later.))[

And thus it would seem gravity was Raven's friend today. Slowing his pace, the child would continue on further into the cave. ((Well we know that I evaded it, and I have to leave for work shortly so I'm posting again. I hope that's alright. Just don't wanna waste a single second. sweatdrop .))

((Understood, see you later then))
Yet, the path he took wasn't an upwards one ... as the boulder rolls towards the other one. The pathway it had taken wouldn't allow it to go upwards ....to far before it would roll backwards again and slow to a stop in front of the entrances that Raven had ducked in. It was downwards afterall as the boulder would twist sideways and then come at the boy again.
He had only avoided shortly as the boulder came at him again.
((Roll the dice again ......highest roll wins))
