Amrita stared up in disbelief. What was...what was happening? That voice...she knew that voice! Where? Where did she know it? The Vetala's eye remained fixed on the beast that may or may not have been their Professor. Before that moment she knew what she needed to do, but now? Now she had no clue; that voice had called the beast 'Red', and even the creature itself seemed to have second thoughts. What was going on...? "...Ah, Johan?!" The sorcerer's sudden appearance startled her visibly, her entire body jolting in shock. She stared at him still wide eyed as he talked, trying to hear past his accent and just...not really getting some of it. She got the gyst though, mainly because that was what she was wanting to know, too. "No, no that's not Red's voice, that's...that's someone else." She murmured, pressing her hands on his shoulders as though it would help him breath better...or perhaps steadying him would steady her, who knew. "I have no idea, Johan, I just...I don't..." But then she heard Sammy, who wasn't too far from her, either. "...Arel...?" What was left of her brow wrinkled, trying to conjure up any memory of the Secretary's voice---ahhh. "That...that was Arel!" The realization hit, and she was left looking at both Sammy and Shehk, entirely confused. "You...followed her? Pendant? What? What's happening?!" She had to know! This was kind of very big! Shehk's reaction was harsh, and the ghoul couldn't resist wincing at the implications. A trap? Deception? What... "Sammy...?"

It was not that Eris did not care what was going on.
Ironically, it was time and not space which felt distorted in the canyon-like room, the students agonizing over each passing second. All eyes, student or otherwise, fell to Red as she fell, mixtures of horror and shock plastered over even hunter expressions, the seconds ticking like hours for the Halloweentowners who watched their professor die. There was nothing they could do -- their bodies felt sluggish and heavy, too slow to reach out to try to do something, anything... except each knew in the back of the mind they couldn't have done anything at all. The blows kept coming, raining down upon the students by the hunters, and some of the others fought back, but the shock had seeped into very bones, keeping them from doing much at all.
From where she had been standing on the edge of the ledge, Eris had gone still as well, clearly stunned at this new development, fire that had been licking her palms nothing but smoking skin, her expression one of complete shock. She hadn't liked Red -- she would have been the first to admit it, the other horsemen could attest to as much. She had always answered the werewolf's disrespectful tone with one of equal disrespect, shunning her answers as frequently as she could get away with. But she would have never wished that on her. War's heir had never liked red -- she'd never loathed her. And underneath the snide responses, the flippant answers, despite the dangers she knew were very real that the boogieman had put her students in, Eris had never once considered that Red could die. Standing on the ledge, she barely moved as a few hunter weapons made contact, giant wings flicking up to bat them away idly, her attention only momentarily refocused on them.
So when Red returned, it was with mixed emotions from the horsewoman. As it was, as the others immediately focused themselves on bludging the giant creature, War merely avoided the battlefield, stepping away with an unhurried gait to stand off to one side on a flat bolder jutting out of the side of the cliff. She didn't rush to join in the fight, nor did she pay any attention to the hunters for a while, merely watching the 'reborn' professor with a thoughtful look and a furrowed brow, arms folded loosely to cup her elbows.
Indeed, it was not that she didn't care what was going on.
It was that she did not care to attack Red.
In fact, she was about to make it HARDER to hit Red.
Cupping her hands in front of her face, palm up, Eris stared at the hunters with less rage and murderous intent than sheer determination to ******** up their day. Within a few seconds, tiny bright little orbs had started to pile in her hands, first one, then two, then four, then eight, etc, multiplying on themselves until they started to topple off her fingers just from the number of them. Her eyes glowing, reflecting the light of these mysterious balls of white-hot energy, she sucked in a deep breath, blowing hard to scatter them across the field, grinning as she watched them explode in a flash of light and sound.(PS -- Anyone can react to this attack, but it only affects those below)Quote: Target: Bix and Jerry Accuracy: HIT -- Accuracy for both opponents is now -7 instead of -6, and affects next two turns. HP: 48.5/60 Effect: Boom headshot - Eris is able to create tiny ping-pong ball sized energy 'bombs' which she then blows off her palm towards the enemy -- acts much like a smoke bomb, except with a fire-cracker effect : The Mind

Damien was glad that the Skellyvision was getting fixed and caught a glimpse of the mournful dragon creature shot up into the sky with a thunderous bellow. The way it sounded, It was just so... sad. The hound felt his eyes welling up at the sight of it and promptly let out a cry from the light show that followed after, all encompassing and warm. It was the most soothing feeling and he relished in it, savoring its presence. HP: 3 + 8 = 11/30 it was just so invigorating. He almost wished it didn't have to go, but with its passing brought clarity in his hazy eyes and focus. The cogs were slowly turning and piece after piece was falling into place as he howled at the creature soaring overhead, new found stamina flowing into his bones that allowed once wobbly legs to stand up without fail. "Do not forget who you are Red, you are of HALLOWEEN!" He had no clue if the being from up above could hear the meaning behind the words, but dammit if felt like red, there was a chance, and he was going to take it. Not even the swirling cascade of dust was going to thwart his attempts. The sounds around him were getting less distorted and sharper as his ears flicked around desperately at every nuance of pitch and tone when he caught the sight of the tiger ghoul again, and this time being able to truly see her there. "If your crazy, then i'm crazier, because i'm feeling better than before." he assured her while rubbing at the clotting and drying blood along the hairline. "I don't feel like a autumn cockatrice, but its better than nothing." he grinned in that same old boilish grin he always had. "The real question is how do we get through to that?" he asked, jerking his chin up to the beast circling lazily above, watching and waiting. "Students of A.A., there has to be away to get through to Red." he called out to the others, tugging willow along as he approached Mot, Sammy and Shehk, the last one that was trying her very hardest to awaken the lost instructor. "There's gotta be some way to, right?"

Mot turned his head to Demi, giving him a nod. "She only started reacting as she got weaker. Maybe all this rallying and damage is knocking her back to normal.." That was what Mot was making himself believe. They were on a Jack forsaken cliff with hunters, a crazed beast and no adults to help them. "Just um.. I'll leave the rallying to everyone else." Maybe if he had his hat he would feel brave enough to give a cheesy speech. Maybe, maybe not.

Over the chaos, he heard a strange, one-sided conversation. West raised his head from where he had rested it on his knees and turned his attention to the Red creature, watching as it reared up in response to the vaguely familiar voice. He scrambled to his feet and squinted as a blinding light filled the sky. It spread warmth through his body, and he tensed at the sensation. What was happening? When West could see properly again, he noticed the misty blobs were gone. Monster Red took off, and in its wake bits of rock rained down upon him. He could feel them. He was alive.
Hunters and students continued the attack, or at least the ones who could reach their airborne enemy did. Wait... He could fly. Duh.
West shook his head quickly to clear it. He let out a loud whoop and ran forward, grabbing a fist-sized rock and launching himself clumsily into the air, his wings popping into existence and beating frantically just before he started to fall again. It was impressive for someone who had just been dead, but only slightly. That thing had killed him and he was determined to return the favor.
When he was high enough, West tossed the rock in the beast's general direction. It might have brushed the membrane of one of its wings slightly, he couldn't be sure. Oh well. At least he tried.
(( Target: Wings Damage: 5-4=1/2 = .5 rounded up = 1 West be flyin'. HP: 10/40 ))

Sammy flinched, it was rare that Shehk was ever this angry, this wasn't good and she could only take a step back as Shehk continued to speak. "I- I saw them fighting, those pendants had been popping up... Arel had one a while back, we fell into a snowy place in the human world. I didn't know..."
She paused, everyone who tries ends up dying? Shehk had died? Her gut twisted around again, "Shehk I didn't know I thought at the most people would get detention..." She turned to Amrita shrugging helplessly, " I don't know, exactly, Arel was arguging with Red about, something, he had one of those pendants with the blue symbol. They take you to the human world. He dropped one a week ago too..." She glanced back at Shehk frowning clear confusion and worry written on her face. She wanted to comfort Shehk but right now? Right now she was honestly worried she would honestly get punched in the face if she tried to even touch her; and then Shehk said the worst part.
We had to have been meant to be a trap.
A trap.
Where they bait... all this time? Slowly Sammy sank to her knee's looking up at Mot, her face somewhat blank before turning to Red flying above unsure what to do anymore.

Willow was reluctantly following Demi as he tugged her along, "I'm glad you're feeling better, I was getting worried." She said looking around. "I wish we knew where the rest of the students were instead of just being split up like this." She muttered giving a small wave to the others when Demi started talking to them.
She paused, "Well... is there something Red likes to eat?" Her head tilted curiously as she pondered, "Maybe that'd help if we have it?"

Shehk's rambling had been dismissed as hysteria for a while now, but as Mot watched Sammy recalled the situation prior, and fall to her knees, he couldn't help but take it more seriously.
Bait. They had been bait?
That hard fact clicked in Mot's head, dulling his sense of duty to fight. His gun lowered, his eyes shifting ddown to Sammy again. "It... I'm sure they had good reason..." Or were they just that disposable..
His head perked up at Willow's innocent suggestion. He couldn't help but smile. "Anyone got a steak on them?"

And the thing just had to start flying. Leon went from neutral to > neutral
It was clear the becoming hunter meant frown lines came along for the ride as well. What. Joy. "Great how am I supposed to hit it now?" he ranted out loud in his irritation, without nary a proper punching bag. "I cant touch the freaking thing while its so high up there!" he yelled toward Cass, Not at her, but with his tone he might as well have. "This would have been a great time for someone with a drill weapon that could pierce the heavens." he muttered quietly, unable to do much more than provide cover for the long range fighters.
Well, sorry that my wings don't work, considering that i don't have them.
Just hearing hearing Nidhogg go into its whiny Emo phase was enough for the boxer to roll his eyes at the stationary weapon. "Well, drink a red bull then."
NO MOUTH.
it screeched back, making him flinch at the sound, how his ears could hear that, he'd never get. "Well then don't complain then, we'll get 'em when we get 'em."

There was a short lull in the fighting as the giant beast hesitated for a moment, illuminated by the light. Was that sunlight? Ennéa looked up quizzically, looking for the source. Whatever it was, it shone down on all of them, monster and hunter alike, and in her mind Baraz growled and chittered but in a pleased sort of way.
"What? What was that?" She asked. Ennéa wiped her brow with the back of her hand looked stupidly up at it the abomination, dreading and yet ready for the next attack. What she wasn't expecting was for it to take to the sky. "Whoa!" She cried, bringing an arm up as the downdraft of the beast's great wings buffeted her and nearly knocked her off her feet.
That got Baraz's attention. NOOOO! It's getting awaaaay! He screeched. Ennéa could hear the former ahriman beat his nonexistent wings in frustration, trying to follow and continue attacking the creature. DAMN IT! He howled. JACK DAMN MY LACK OF WINGS!!
The axe in her hands vibrated and Ennéa tightened her grip. It still unnerved her to see Baraz in such a frenzy like this but Ennéa had seen it before and this time she was better prepared. "Calm down, Baraz!" She shouted back at him. The creature was circling above their heads, undoubtedly it would attack again and soon. Ennéa nodded distractedly when she heard Caelius' words. "We'll get it when it comes back down!" She reassured her weapon.
Baraz hissed at her but quieted in his ear-splitting screeching, lapsing into sullen anticipation.

After a long moment of the pain searing though her head, Shehk finally righted herself.. albeit, with great effort on her part. "Didn't you hear the rumor about Red killing students? Well, I was one of the 'lucky' two." Shehk put one hand on her hip. "But that's an angry vent for another time. I can't get my two cents out of Red at this rate." Despite her unbridled anger issues, Shehk seemed to have fallen back - albeit somewhat more comfortably now, to her original train of thought. She looked to Amrita;
"A while back, a group of students overheard Red and Arel fighting. It involved the pendants of the hunters and...well...I guess now we know the rest of it...I didn't hear much.." she flicked her ears, "So I guess not many other people did either, but..it resulted in a fight. Hence, the rumor about dead students." With that, her ears swivelled and turned to Demi. Her heart soared. Somebody was on her side! Oh, she could have kissed him!
Except kisses were reserved for people who were about yey-tall on the Skinwalker chart and he was a touch bit short for that. She offered him a fistbump instead. "For right now, I think that's really all we could try to do. I can't reach her and she isn't attacking us, so.... let's see what we can make happen!" she surged with extra confidence at an ally in her line of thought. Soon, it seemed Mot was also on board for it.
The anger that previously was all over the Pricolici's face was turning into a certain amount of excitement. Oh, this could work.
"Got any ideas on how we'll make this work?"

The chatter was filled with panic and worry, parts of which that made the demon dog want to curl up into a ball and hide. being bait... it didn't sound right, like lambs to a slaughter. His tail found a much slower pace to wag at as the words penetrated a little farther in his mind.
But the stupor was broken once Willow brought up the idea of food. "Steaks?" he asked bewildered as his head tilted to the side in thought. ................
"OOH!" he cried out after a moment and began to hastily di into his battered bag until he emerged face first with a few sealed packages of Bunny wunny steaks in his mouth. "i' haff dese infh muh bagh fust in scate." he replied with his mouth clearly occupied with protein.

Jerry was busy staring up at the circling monster when the tiny balls of light rolled past him. Instinct took hold as he suddenly staggered back from them, but it was too late- the moment he glanced down, they suddenly erupted with a POP, and a burst of light that burned at his already battered eyes and made his ears ring. "Aaah! What...!" He managed, his own voice sounding muffled against the ring as he tripped onto his back, Roar landing on his stomach with an 'oof!' Where had it come from?? What... what on earth had happened?? He blinked, but all he could see was dancing white dots burned into his vision. This was WORSE than cracked glasses! How could he shoot like this?? Israfel had backed off from the hunter, things and gone from bad to worse, they had spiraled out of control. Students were getting hurt by- that which had been Red. Their teacher. Had. She wasn't Red. She was- something else. Something that was no one's ally and everyone's enemy. Feathers flat to his body, he was paralyzed by fear. This was wrong. All wrong. She'd saved them from the hunters before, why was she doing this now? It was all the hunter's fault. They were responsibe for all of this. As Israfel watched the student fall and scramble, he didn't think they would make it. No teachers were going to save them. No one was here for them anymore. It was just them. Then- A voice. Was it good or bad he didn't know. He hadn't a clue. But it was sure as all hell better than hearing the screaming of the students. But the voice that kept him Shaking was Shehk's. "A trap?" Israfel's eyes were still saucer wide. It couldn't have been. The school- It could have been. They had placed them in danger before. But- "Don't say that." His wing went out, brushing feathering against the un dead. "Please don't say that. You-" He was trying to think back to when they had been at school. "You're one of the strongest. Please don't give up. Please don't say things like that. It'll just be like the island or something. They have to know. They'll come for us won't they? Arel- he fought for us didn't he?" He was scared and one of the people he admired was giving up- "Shehk?"

Cass bumped her fist lightly against Jude's shoulder when he approached, grinning. "Well... guess there has to be a bit of silver lining in here somewhere." she agreed, though she couldn't help but keep looking up at that thing that was taking over the sky. Was it safe to move or would it divebomb down upon them the first opportunity it got?
She made a face.
"Guess we have to wait to find out what the next move is though...."
