Roch turned back to the generator, his eyes narrowing and his hand tightening on the neck of his guitar. "Jack this," he said. "There's no plug, there's no off switch that I can find. I searched the entire thing. I'm just going to pound on it more."
Logic, Roch had it. Well, Roch Logic, at least. "Guys, back away from your bars, this might cause it to fluctuate." Then he lifted his guitar again, taking a baseball player's batting stance-- And let his guitar swing, slamming into the side of the generator again.
This time he anticipated the electric surge, gritting his teeth and trying to bear it. Jackdammit that stung!

He had hit it twice, Roch thought. He was still a bit sparking from the last hit, but he just gritted his teeth, planted his feet, and lined up the shot. "They. Will. NEVER. Win."
He pulled back the guitar, aiming at the machine one more time. It was more to take his frustration out than because he really thought he could break it. But he WOULD hit it again. Then he'd go back to searching for that jackin' key. The shock of electricity raced down his spine, making his teeth clatter with the attack, but he wouldn't make a sound.
He WAS glad he hadn't stuck his hand through the cage bars, though.

No. It was doing more damage to him than it was to the generator. Roch stepped back, looking at his hands and grimacing at the burn marks on them. It had headed straight through his guitar, hitting him hard. He tried wiping it off on his pants then turned, to start searching for the card again. It HAD to be here somewhere. Maybe away from the cages as they'd suggested. He couldn't stop until he found it.
He had a shopping trip with Jove to go on. He had to see Xiu again. He had to get Freya the jack OUT OF HERE. Papers were thrown this way and that as he started digging through everything he could find to find it.

Freya's eyes remained on the machine, even as Barth told Calder to stay out of it. Her face softened, slackened in gentle surrender.
"Tired." Freya agreed with Calder's words, and she smiled gently, closing her eyes. "Maybe they just lets me rest soon." She wouldn't fight it, if they put her in that capsule. The fight had left her for good, now. "Just a little rest."

"There will be NO JACKING REST!" Roch snarled, barely keeping his voice low and still digging through everything he could get his hands on. "Don't fall asleep on me, guys! Don't you dare! We have to get out of here now. We have to get the card, let you loose, and go get the others off of the battle field!"
He was scared. That's what it was. He was terrified that they would fall asleep on him and NEVER wake up. It had been building up in the back of his mind, all the things that could happen--the hunters could come in, they could capture him, they could--
He took a deep breath. "No. Sorry," he said. "Just stay with me, guys. All of you. I need you to talk to me. Talk to each other. Prove that we aren't animals to be caged and experimented on."
Because that's what this place reminded him of, he realized. A mad scientist's laboratory. Like in the movies.

Roch couldn't find it. He just couldn't find it. And it just kept getting so much worse. "Jackdammit, where IS IT?"

Roch's voice made her cringe as the words tried to stir something within her, and failed. She just cringed and curled up within herself, letting her wings fold over her body in a cocoon. Head and all.
"Night, Roch." The muffled whisper filtered out from behind her feathers.

Ren slid his gaze sideways, back to Roch. This took a great deal of effort, since he was feeling so damned tired and his head was spinning with anger, frustration, panic, desperation - and a bitterness so deep it almost hurt. Not to mention that the repeated shocks from the electrified bars of the cage made him feel weak and pathetic.
"Roch...remember...what I told you? Before? When you thought you couldn't control your FEAR?"

"Jackdammit, Freya! No sleeping!" he growled, feeling... "I screwed up even worse this time," he whispered. "I screwed up even worse on my second try."
He ran a hand over his face and turned to keep searching. He had no other choice. He stopped as Ren's voice reached him. Then whispered. "But I ain't my granddad."
His granddad would have saved them all by now.

Ren kept his gaze on Roch, fingers subconsciously curling and uncurling as he lay on his back on the cold, metal floor of the cage. He wanted badly to see how Gabrian was, Jove, Tybalt, and Coralie as well, but it was as if his body refused to move.
His head was spinning.
"No, you're not."
A short pause.
"Do you have to be?"

The blade of a giant sword suddenly comes crashing down into the tent, slicing down into the generator, before any one can say anything, the sword is quickly removed, leaving a small sliver of a window to the outside battle. The generator appears to have taken a fair amount of damage from the hit, and a few other pieces of equipment as well. The sound of a latch opening snaps through the air, Ren's cage has been opened. SO YOU GOT INTO THE TENT/FREE This is not a new round.RULES:- If you have successfully entered the tent through stealth, you will note that none of hunters appear to be within. (Caelius having left prior during the excitement, looking smug and mysterious, the remaining techs trailing in his wake like a row of nervous duckings. Will he return? You better hope not.)- The cages are all firmly locked, but there is a key card hidden somewhere in the tent. To search for it, roll 1d20. If you roll a 20, congratulations, you have found a key and will get to spend the rest of the round figuring out how to unlock the cages and letting each of the captives free. - You can roll to find the key up to three times. - Feel free to continue to RP your angst, traumz, and tearful reunions for the rest of the round. WHAT IS THE THING OVER HERE? Generator HP: 53/60 43/60 The OOC You may attack it up to two times (in addition to your key hunt...and by this I mean that you can do the maximum amount of each, 3 key searches and 2 attacks) but for every time you successfully land a hit, the power surges dangerously, causing -3 HP to you.

Hey, wait! Someone was now entering the tent! The someone was Savior, and the monster looked around at her surroundings with all the wonder and expression capable of her kind. Basically, she was like a kid in a candy store who had no idea what candy was, so instead she merely looked at the caged students, as well as Roch, with a blank stare.
"Wut." Perhaps it was a 'what's going on?!' or a 'what can I do to help?!' or maybe a 'who are you?', though language was never Savior's strong suite. She had a good collection of words used in her memory, naturally, but not really talking to people didn't allow such things to piece themselves together. "Wut this, wut that."
The Marrowstripe strode over to one of the cages and started to reach up, curious as to what exactly was going on inside these things. Was this some kind of a game, could she be allowed to join in and play? Savior'd never seen a cage before, they looked pretty interesting. One of the cages even seemed to be open now thanks to a weird knife thing, and the Marrowstripe moved over to the boil's side. "Youse."

He didn't get a chance to hear what Roch's answer was. Something shrieked through the air just outside the tent. Whatever it was slammed into the generator with a horrible screech of metal on metal, and Ren threw himself backwards automatically, wincing at the shock against his back, falling to his side.
There was a sparking sound; something sizzled, and the enormous sword disappeared, a slit in the canvas of the tent wall to let in a small amount of dusty light.
Something clicked.
And then, quite abruptly, the door to Ren's cage swung innocently open.
He stared at it for a moment, as if not quite daring to believe what had just happened. Reaching out a trembling hand, he dared to put his fingers outside the realm of the cage, almost testing the air and not even noticing the dark skinned ghoul that had slipped silently into the tent.
Ren's wings flapped once. He pushed himself weakly up and crawled out of the cage on his hands and knees, dragging himself upright. The movement made him sway slightly, the cramping in his legs making him stagger forward and grab onto Roch's shoulder for support.
He was standing - he wasn't locked in that cage anymore. Ren's eyes moved down, looking at the horrible little box with its black bars and its electricity.
The fury surged again, powerful and raw.
I won't let you win.
His first thought, clearly, was to find the Jackdamned key.
"Hold on," he told the rest of them, his eyes first moving to Gabrian and then Jove, followed by the rest of his teammates and the rest of the creatures in the cage.
"I'll find that damn key."
Unfortunately for Ren, being cooped up for so long had not done him any good; he staggered and fell within the first two steps. Angrily he pushed himself upright again, swearing.
Where is it?

"Kii. Wut kii." The boil was clearly looking for something, and Savior decided she'd give it a go. If she actually found anything then she could hold it up to show the others and maybe they'd know what it was.
Flipping things over, she tried to locate whatever it was they needed. So far, nothing.

Barth watched as Calder arranged himself to sleep. Barth's protest about the pendant died. Keeping that thing on was...a bad idea...and the chamber... in the end, Barth swallowed the words. The giant sword crashing through the tent, and he turned his attention to the hole and the Halloween members sneaking through it.
"The cage bars are electrified. Don't touch them. Find the keycard or destroy the generator," Barth hissed at the new entrants. "Ren, show them."
