Violin <333 I've always wanted to learn. :3

Funny, everyone shows up for dinner if either of my parents cook. My family's in the restaurant business.

So it is! I have this vague notion of calling home, but I have nothing to call home about. XD

Ooh, violin. 4laugh Beautiful instrumenet, but difficult, I imagine? 0-o
But then again, Chinese string instruments doesn't sound that simple either. sweatdrop (a wee bit jeleous whee )

If anyone would be curious, this is the song I'm trying to copy... confused

And I'm starting to hate it. xp

My dad can at least make two kinds of dishes! Pasta with fried sausage, and order pizza. mrgreen

The basics weren't hard. I played the erhu (two-stringed violin/chinese fiddle) and the ruan (moon guitar).

erhu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_K54nEqfSo
ruan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DQKIsKu15M&feature=related

Ruan was what everyone started off with when we were around 7. At 9 or so we were split into different instruments, I got the erhu. I played it until I was 11 and I love that screecher. <3

Oh, I like that song a lot. o: I think I might be able to copy some of it, but I don't use the traditional music sheet notes. I was taught on the number scale, which turns out to have been rather detrimental for me to try to read music when I was in musicals. XD

Pasta is the lazy food of university students. <3

Neat! biggrin This makes me think of the movie "Mulan". ^^ Never really heard this kind of music before. 3nodding
Considering that you were taught these instruments already as a kid in school, can I assume that you went to school in China or some place nearby...? (I know... my deducting skills are amazing... cool )

Number scale? I'm a complete moron when it comes to music, so I've never heard of another kind of "writing music" except from those dots and letters. rolleyes (which I can't read either... sweatdrop )

I wonder what screenie we'll do next. mrgreen I'd like to find Bassie... (I didn't even know that this thing existed untill I saw it on the list. confused )
PostPosted: Sun Mar 06, 2011 12:00 pm

There was a trick to finding Bassie a while ago, but I think it's cheating and I doubt it's in the game. Matter of fact, Qixter, someone else, and I were in a crew and I think I was the first one to find it. Basically, you had to go to any Bassie screen except for the one by the Null Crystal (I think the Papa Saw one works best), then click on the fishing pole and change screens really fast and she would appear for like 1 second each time you changed screens. Good luck getting a screeny of that, though. gonk

Anyways, yeah, I'm drafting up Newsletter #5. If you're on the green team and haven't already, add my newb Skype account kats.kokeshi.doll! Then we can plan and be awesome.

Nope, I went to school in Chinatown in Oakland (San Francisco Bay Area/California). When I was there, it was predominantly Asian with the token white or black child here and there. Recently it's gotten more diverse, though. Music class was required. Chinese was required until we turned 9 or something, I can't recall. Either way, in most of my education, I've always learned at least one other language (exception being when I was 13 and my current semester in uni).

Number scale went like this:
do - 1
rei - 2
mi - 3
fa - 4
so - 5
la - 6
ti - 7

I don't know how we would trigger bassie. There has been talk of trying Papa Saw again. Hopefully this time with less lag. XD;

Hm... My deduction skills needs improvementz..!
Sounds like a way more interesting school than the one I attended for 9 years. 3nodding

Alright, so I guess we save Bassie till we're done with the other screenies. ^^ I think I'll try and load zOMG before hand this time... It might make things easier later. confused
