Janis watched at the breathless but it made to move to follow them. She let out a sigh of relief.

Max kept going till the boat was no longer in sight.
"Well at least were safe now."

Janis nodded. "Yeah, I guess." she murmured. Seeing the boat, even though it was a false alarm, reminded her that they were on the run.

Janis smiled weakly. "Thanks.... and I won't allow them to even touch you." she said with a fierceness that surprised herself.

He then lost his smile. "Dont say that... if there going to take us I would sacrifice myself to protect you and make sure you never go back."
Max the opened a hatch to the boat and went inside. He then closed it so he could give Jonathan and Janis some private time.

Janis stared, happy at what he said but also angry with him. "And you think I would just stand by and not do anything?!' she demanded. She looked out at the ocean without really seeing it. This may have happened fast," she added quietly, "but I do love you, Jon. If they do find us, don't ask me to watch while you fight alone. I'm not totally helpless."

"Janis..." He said before grabbing her hand. "Im not going to want you to watch nor fight... if they take me you must find my parents and tell them what happened. Loook at what they did to me. If they take me back how knows what they'll do. And they'll do the same to you... and I cant let that happen."

Janis hated the fact that he was right. She blinked back tears and nodded. "I still hope that never happens." she remarked quietly. She looked up at Jonathan swallowing the lump in her throat.

Janis hugged him back and looked at him blue skin. Now that she thought about it, almost everyone who spotted him would react like Max first had. Would he stay like that forever? she wondered. No, they would turn him back. she assure herself. A small plan started to form in her mind, although, she didn't dare voice it.

As he hugged her he looked out into the ocean. He smiled and sat down. "Have you even seen a sunset?"

Janis shook her head and looked out in the direction he was looking. She gasped at the sight. The sun had sunk down near the water where it reflected across the water like a train of light. The sky around it had turned a firey red-orange. "It's beautiful," she said, awed.

Janis continued to watch as the sun touched the water. The red slowly turned into pink as the purple of the darkening sky seeped in. She watched breathless until the sun completely disappeared beneath the waves.
((That was fun describing it, I hope I did it well.))
