Loki grinned at him and bowed teasingly. "That I shall great one!" She wagged her tail and smiled wider when his nose touched down to hers. It was wet and warm just like any other wolf's. At his nickname for her she perked her ears and puffed up her chest fur. "Loki is the name, Mischief is the g-..." she stopped then grinned sheepishly as she hopped to her paws. "I can be quick, brave and ready for anything! I used to scare sheep around all the time!"

Clio peered down at the little one, unsure of what to do. Her tail flicked as she felt uncomfortable with the unfamiliar face for a moment. She peered at Sjun for an answer, not knowing whether the trek would be safe for one so young. The white-brown adult was unsure of whether where they were headed, though she was almost certain that it was linked to A'cuil. Her tail twitched in anxiety, excited to head out.
She giggled quietly at Sjun's attempt of hiding, knowing that no matter what the massive size of the beast would not be hidden in a clearing. She listened to Sjunheal's words, again taking her teacher's words in. Clio was not socialized well to pups or other wolves for that matter, those who were not accustomed to the ways of the Sure-Claws were those she did not feel connected to. As Sjun invited her to the journey, Clio relaxed. She gave the small female a kind smile. "That's the spirit, little one." She said kindly, lowering her head to the level of the girl and gazing at her yellow eyes with her own blue-orange ones.

Sjunheal gave another low chuckle, motioning the pup ahead of him with a flick of his head. Even though she had not finished her thought, the bearwolf caught the gist. "Mischief, eh? Well, now... I do think, jus' last week i' fact, I ate a young mischief-maker for breakfast. Let me see now." He nodded sagely. "Yes, I'm sure I did. She tasted a bit stringy. O' course, I'm sure I'll not have to eat up a nice little lady like yourself, aye? On you come, then." Clio, he motioned to his side before setting off into the forest. Like the flip of a switch, the crunch and crackle of flora breaking under his paws fell away. It was just like the old training days, he thought. Good days. "We'll not be scarin' sheep here, pup. We might face somethin' though, so be on your claws. And none o' this "Great One" rot. Call me 'Sjun' or 'Mister Bearclaw' - or teacher, I s'pose. Whichever one works best for ye'." He didn't realize until he said it: but he missed being called Mr. Bearclaw. Hmmm...
Undaunted, the wolf turned to Clio. Well, turned his head. He could trust her to navigate, he knew. "Well now, lass. D' ye remember those huntin' skills o' yours? I need ye' to lead me to the river - we're followin' it up, see if we can find where our boy washed ashore. I figure it can't be in this territory, if the bright king yonder didn' find him." Though he didn't doubt Icarus had tried. He'd seen a bit of respect for the warrior in the young leader. "And aye, as I'm sure you've guessed, we're huntin' for A'cuil. I refuse to believe a bit o' water killed him - and if I'm wrong, I'm bearin' his body back for proper rest."
Sjunheal didn't really believe he'd find his student dead. No, no, not A'cuil. Moreover, Sjun wasn't prepared to find him gone.
Not him too.

Clio giggled at Sjunheal's threat to the little one. It reminded her of the past, ages ago, when her teacher had invented crazy threats that though now seemed blasphemous, were at the time horrific. "He will, he really will." She echoed with a wink. Instantly the female caught on to his direction. She matched the silence of the paws, allowing her mind to return to the training sessions of a time long past. She listened to Sjunheal's words and shot off a quick laugh once more, "Mister Bearclaw! Oh, how it's been so long since I last heard that nickname."
Her ears perked at his directions once more, absorbing the words as though she were his pupil once more. She gave him a curt nod and quickly entered the hunter mind-set. A sharp intake of breath whistled through her nostrils as she searched for the cool humid scent of the river. "Heh, I knew you wouldn't give up on him." She said quietly, clearly distracted by her task. Now that she knew for certain they'd be looking for the snakeskin male, she was even more determined.
There it was.
Clio snapped her head into the direction of the cool scent of the rushing water. Tuning her ears to the area in which it came she could hear the soft whisper of water rushing past rock. Her blue-orange eyes searched the area ahead and she began walking towards it. "It's this way, not too far." She muttered, relaxing her hunter thoughts and slowly returning to her regular state.

The purple pup giggled at the Bear-Wolf's threat but pushed it aside, and put on a look of mock horror. "I'll be good then Mr. Bearclaw." Her features grew serious as she scented the air and perked her ears, mimicking the female's movements. She heard the splash of water on the rocks. Though she didn't know this A'cuil person she knew the mission. To save and find him. "What happened to your friend? I've never been in this territory before. After I was abandoned I've wandered from place to place."
She wasn't sure she was abandoned. The only clue she had was the smell of her mother and a milk supply that was weak and feeble. She remembered the cold of the winter air and the fear of being alone when she met Jez. Her father she knew nothing of only that he was a strong warrior who wandered the territories.

She started forward again, unsure for a moment before heading into the clearing. That's when she saw the two factions and the wolves on either side. Some where with the orange wolf, she remembered his name Icarus, and others were with the haze colored wolf, Fairyn she remembered. Why? That's what rang out. What had changed in the short time. She had left to spend time to herself to hone the skills, to grow more into someone comfortable in their own skin. Yet, she was still terrified. Still the young pup at heart, still afraid of her own shadow. All of the faces, all of these wolves.
As her heart skipped a beat she wondered what was going on coming into the fray. Her lean body carefully maneuvering through the crowd of wolves left to decide. Ah, that's what they were doing deciding packs. She didn't really want to go to Fairyn and Andragos even though they had shown her the most kindness. She wanted to break away from all of that, to strike out on her own, to stand on her own two feet. However she knew near nothing about the other and far brighter wolf than the other two. So she went to his side, making her choice although she gave an apologetic look to the two who helped her as a pup. It was time to leave that so called 'den' and become a wolf.
"I'm with you Icarus." Her voice barely a whisper. She would hope to stay in the pack as long as she could, only because the large group frightened her and she didn't know how well she could cope. Safety in numbers they always said and besides, this was a lesson in learning. She could always decide to strike out on her own when she got more confidence, other wolves had done it, why couldn't she?

Kora kept her eyes locked on Zuri as Faiyrn dragged her out of the river, something Kora knew she wouldn't have been able to do. And then they were on the bank, and she felt giddy relief sweep over her. They had almost lost another member of their pack to the Spirit River.
As Faiyrn brought Zuri back to the clearing, Kora stayed, watching the river that had claimed her mentor. Was he still alive? She wondered at the thought. Surely it would take more than a river to defeat the snake-patterned warrior, yet it seemed as if it had. Kora turned around and raced for the clearing.
Stopping at the edge and then walking in, she saw Fairyn, 'Dragos, and others standing beside them on one side; Icarus and his wolves standing behind and beside him. Not hesitant, she trotted up to Faiyrn and nodded to her mother. "Spliting the pack into two?" she wispered the question. "I'll follow you, mother."
She saw that the other pup her parents had adopted- whom for some reason Kora had never really gotten to know- stood beside Icarus. She nodded to her to show that she repected her, umm... half-sister's...? Adopted sister's...? Decision, and hoped their parents would, too.

Toboe waited carefully on the outskirts of the clearing, peering silently out of the trees. He was going to run in and jump into a pack, hoping they wouldnt realize no one knew him. But wich pack? He thought, not knowing any of the wolves made this hard. He stepped out of the trees and looked around, spotting Kora on one side, she seemed smart to, so she must have picked the better pack. He hurried over to the group that she was in and stood somewhat near her.
Zuri shivered and stood by Fairyn, planning to thank her later, when the female wasnt getting her pack organized. She watched as wolves split off, and decided to stay where she was, with Fairyn. Zuri sat down near Kora, who was obviously going to go with her adopted parents. She looked at the wolves across the clearing, then at Fairyn, "Im with you to," She muttered to Fairyn and Andragos.
Tiki stood and watched the wolves, they were splitting into to packs. s**t. Fairyn? or Icarus? They were both great leaders, and Tiki knew wolves from each side. But, the flashback of how Icarus got Olek in the first place, so long ago, made her decision for her. She padded over and stood by Icarus, knowing she would not at all regret staying in his pack.

((Missed a lot!)) Kitsch's tail wagged happily as Prince licked him between the ears.He was happy to have a friend- a flyer in fact! It was like home. His bright eyes shined as he followed Price into the clearing. There were many wolf. Big ones, small ones, all gathered in the clearing. Yet he heard words of divide. New Pack. Kitsch's brows furrows as he watched some wolves split to leave, and others stay. He wondered to himself if this was the time to be splitting at all... should they remain as one pack to fight the darkness?
Kitsch sat silently among the group. He did not know this she wolf, Fairyn. Prince turned to leave, and Kitsch was sad to see him go. He nodded to his new friend. They would surely meet again.
Kitsch moved over to Icarus' group. He didn't necessarily know who to be with, but he had met Icarus by the river. Now if only they could move out of these stuffy forests into the great plains... "Hi again," Kitsch said to Icarus' group, not necessarily addressing one wolf.

Marie who had fled to the undecided Tiki watched as her newest teacher went to the bright orange male and watched her best friend also go the same way... As a pup that should have been her decision maker, right? Her best friend and mentor... but it wasn't. She stood and walked slowly among the others and watched them on both sides and then she stepped up to Andragos and the thin, tiny little puppy wove her way between his front legs and laid down, peering out at the other wolves.
Faiyrn watched as one by one members of their large pack made their decisions and split into the two smaller groups. She turned her head to look at Zuri and smiled kindly, she nodded at Kora, her tail wagging and glanced in Toboe's direction briefly thinking to herself that she needed to acquaint herself with the new adolescent. She nodded at Lithium and smiled softly, grateful for the female's support, and looking at Indra she found she was glad. She had too noted that Prince, the dear one had been the first to join them and she smiled, remembering him as a pup when she had first seen him. She nodded in greeting to Departed whom she had not yet met and watched as Marie lay between Adragos' feet. The poor thing seemed so confused in all of this commotion thought she fought desperately not to let her see it.

"Never desert a fellow warrior, lass. You know it. And good hunt - let's head for 't." Sjun's expression was easy and sure, confident in his hunting party - even the littlest member, providing she was willing to learn.
Speaking of which. He turned to her, noticing with interest the way that she imitated Clio's huntress ways. She too seemed to catch the river-sounds. But before he could question her, Loki's question settled heavily on him. "That'll make two of us, wee fae. Clio could tell ye better, but th' way I understand it, our friend did drown." Just saying the words made him bristle, just slightly. "But a question for a question. Are ye good at the game o' parrot, lass?" Sjun asked Loki, genuinely curious. "Or have you wishes to be a huntin' wolf?"
Sjunheal upped his pace to little more that a quick walk as Clio marked their direction, and hoped the two ladies with him could keep up with his long strides.

Hopping along she picked up her pace to where she was almost running to stay with the group. She waved her tail the remembered his question. "A parrot? Oh! You mean how I was copying her? I want to be of some use. I don't know very much now. I say copying helps you learn it faster!" Loki raised her head proudly as she followed along.
She understood what it was like to leave one you cared about and she nodded. "I hope we find him. Safe and sound if not a bit messed up from a swim like that!"

Clio grinned at the bear wolf's determination and she quickened her pace so as to not fall behind the massive wolf. She kept her eyes locked on the area from which she could hear and smell the water, but could see the small pup matching her movements in her peripheral vision. It reminded Clio of her own time as a pup, trying to learn from her mother's hunting style. In her heightened sense, she could feel the tension the bear wolf held as he mentioned the snakeskin male. "You better be fine, A'cuil." She mumbled under her breath, worry edging its way into her voice. Her mind feared the worst but she still clung to hope.
She neglected answering the pup's question, being careful not to lose track of the river. Sjun would answer the inquires, she figured. Still, Clio listened to the conversation, letting it buzz in the back of her mind. Soon, the small group of wolves were near the water. Her fur bristled lightly as the cool breeze of the water snaked around her body. Only a few trees remained between them and the mighty Spirit River.
Suddenly she was apprehensive and her heart beat quickened. Clio was well aware that it wouldn't be long until the never-ending question would be answered.

Sjun frowned as they came closer to the river's edge, watching out the corner of one eye for the pup. But at this point, the hunt consumed the majority of his question: and even as he spoke to her, he has his nose to the ground as they came upon the riverbank. "You're a wolf, lass. 'Course you're of use." Dust blew up from his soft nose as Sjun snuffled, trying hard to raise the scent of the warrior from the earth. "And yes, copyin' can be useful at first. But the best way and quickest way t' learn is to be taught." The Bear-Clawed whuffed out forcefully in frustration. He couldn't pick up a thing, and glanced to Clio to see if she fared any better.
If A'cuil had been swept into deep-water, they'd have to follow the river all the way up to have a chance at finding him.
( Sjunheal, Clio and Loki exeunt to the Spirit River. )

Icarus eyed the unsure adolescent female for a moment who looked so apologetic to the Alphas of the Storm-Keepers. Icarus gave her a confident smile, "I welcome you." He bowed his head to her ever so slightly, hoping to encourage the female who seemed to uncertain.
As quick as always, he watched Kora slip into the other pack, remembering the pup she had been when they both had followed A'cuil's lessons. He peered at the new adolescent, Toboe and Zuri who also chose the others. Icarus felt sad for a moment, realizing that this was technically an end, almost, to some of his relations with some wolves. Even though they would have Lake Lux as grounds to meet and greet other wolves, staying close to those who left would be difficult.
It was when Tiki trotted over to him that he smiled. He felt Olek flutter down and land on his ear to give the bird-wolf a happy chirp. Icarus lowered his bright head at Tiki, welcoming her to the group. Suddenly the voice of a pup called his attention. He turned his head downwards and peered at the small youth with a smile, recognizing him from the day they saved Oghren. "Hello again, young one." Lowering his head towards the wolf, acknowledging the pup's presence.
