LadyBelle
"Freya, that's right... I remembered hearing your name when were were in the Savage Land," Alanna caught herself thinking back to that place and again caught herself letting her hair change to the green of the leaves of the Savage Land forests, "Sorry..."

Truth was, Alanna was fascinated with Freya since she saw her in the Savage Lange. She was brighter than everybody else in Alanna's dark world... was it because of this Earth spirit? How did she control it? Could Alanna learn to do this too? She wanted to learn so badly how to be good with her mutant abilities like her siblings.

"How do you learn to control something like that?" Alanna asked, "It seems so... big... I guess is the word for it."

OOC: Inuki, I'm not sure where to go with this. I'll PM you.

"You still have so much to learn Alanna," said Freya with a gentle smile. "You don't control spirits. You ask them to help you. But that's part of my mutant power. Yours is very much different from mine." The girl tilted her head on the side.

"If you start thinking that you can control everything, then at the end, you won't control anything at all. Life isn't like that. It's the same thing with spirits. Their body might be dead but there are still people. Even the elemental ones."

OOC: Just a quick post until Belle answers my pm. ^-^

Vivien drove around a good twenty minutes before picking a place to eat.
Burgers.
She looked over the menu and smiled at the cashier's growing look of impatience.
"Are you ready to order yet?" he asked.
"Hm." Vivien murmered, opening her purse and fishing around for her wallet. She looked down and her glasses slipped a little, showing those grey and purple eyes.
She pushed her black shades back up quickly and answered "Mhmm. I'll have a bacon cheeseburger, a small order of onion rings, and a chocolate milkshake.".
While she waited for her order, she plopped down in a seat near the window and started people-watching. She was going to have to register for high school tomorrow.
"Bleh..." she thought "and then on to ask about Xavier's.". She didn't see any need for a school just for mutants. In her mind, it only added to the way so-called normal people set mutants apart.
Heavy thoughts aside, her dinner was ready. She paid the man behind the counter and walked outside to a table.

OOC: FYI (to be technical): WO, Noko or Cloud, correct me if I'm wrong, but the public doesn't know that Xavier's is a school for mutants. It's just a private school or boarding house to them... so it really wouldn't hurt mutant personas either way at the moment smile

I will try to catch up on the NPCs I'm working with soon. I'm working 10 hour days a twork and going into finals week. So trying to pull out paragraphs for four characters is a bit much on some days.

IC:

"Well, I was never one to pass up food," Penny pulled on a belt loop pretending to loosen her pants.

Their food was served pretty quickly. Luigi's was always good for their service. Penny cut a part a few gooey slices and put them on plates. She licked the sauce from her thumb and tried to ignore the growing croud. Xavier told her she was lucky once. He had seen mutants with sensory mutations go into overload. Aparently, Penny was one of the lucky ones who's nerves, brain, and so on adapted to the mutation so that she didn't go insane everytime anything touched her skin, got very loud, and other things that would seriously inhibit the way somebody lived.

"That girl has grey and purple eyes," Penny said in a statement, "Not in a normal way."

"We're here, we're mutants... get used to it," Regina said."

"That so didn't rhyme."

"No, my point is, you don't have to pick out a mutant everytime you see one."

Penny shrugged, "No, I just thought it was cool. I'm very aware of our kind's status. Hey, what did you think of Kim's class today? Do you think it's right for her to use her abilities like that?"

"Yes, I think I understand," Ororo nodded but wanted to touch upon another point.

"We aren't sheilding out student's from the real world. The door is always open for them to stay or go. We are providing them with a controlled environment to learn to control their powers. We're also providing them a home where there is none and a place that will keep them safe. Our philosophy is not shared by everybody, but as I said, we do not force anybody to stay here."

Ororo looked at the dog again, "I hope you do not take this the wrong way, but how well behaved is your companion? I just ask for safety concerns."

"What do I wish to talk about?," Jacen asked, half mockingly. "....Honestly. I don't know how to put it delicately, and this may be hard to digest. All I ask is for you to listen."

"O.....k?"

As he started to speak, he noticed that he wasn't looking at her at all. ".........I discovered something recently. Or rather......one of the scientists at the facility we were all held at discovered something." Jacen took a deep breath before continuing.

"Apparently, he took samples of everyone's blood, and for whatever reason, he checked all the DNA patterns in said samples.......," Jacen trailed off before continuing again. "Do you remember when you saw me at that computer terminal?"

"Yea," Anna said without hesitance.

"I was there trying to piece it all together. The fact that the doc said I've a living relative, and when I......well," Jacen stopped for a second. "It made sense when I found out that I was adopted."

"What are you getting at," she asked, slightly annoyed. And who could blame her? It's not as if she had a reason to like Jacen at all, let alone tolerate the tangent he was going on.

"What I'm getting at, Anna," Jacen said, matter of factly, "Is that according to what I was told by that scientist is that we're related. Brother and sister, infact." He still wasn't looking at her, keeping his back to her. He didn't know why, though. Usually when he spoke, he looked the recipient of his conversation dead in the eye.

"I know you have no reason to believe me. Trust me, I couldn't believe it either," Jacen said, "But I've checked some things out, and yea....the resemblance is there. Slightly, but it's there."

Jacen stopped speaking for a moment, letting her absorb the information as much as she could. He didn't know if she was going to accept this as fact or if she was just going to dismiss it as a fabrication from some looney.

Slowly, he turned around to face Anna. "I know you've heard me called Scion before," Jacen said quietly, "That's just what alot of the Brotherhood knows me as." He stopped for a second, but decided to continue on.

"........My name is Jacen though," he said, trying to form at least a small bridge of trust.

"A...home...?"

Raine repeated those unfamiliar words uncertainly; it was obvious that the young woman had never had a home. But how could you miss something you've never experienced?

"Katori? Oh, it depends. We have an understanding, so he normally listens to me. But he hates mutants and was designed to...well...so he does try to kill them."

Cutting herself off before she gave away too much, Raine judged the woman's reaction to those words. She didn't know how much these people knew about what exactly was going on out there in the real world...Genlabs...

Ears flattening, a deep snarl erupted from the mutant hunter's mouth. The canine, enraged from all the mutant scent all about him, whipped his form about, powerful claws digging chunks out of the floor as he crashed from the room, saliva dripping from his open maw, inch-long fangs bared. He casted about with his reddened eyes, and then tore off.

Almost shocked by the sudden outburst from her companion, Raine stared at his retreating figure.

'Oh...crap...'

Leaving the room, she chased right after. No, no, no, no, NO! This was NOT good! A berserked mutant hunter + a school for mutants = A VERY BAD THING!

GAH!

((Okay, I'll leave this off here. What an emergency for you people. ^.~))

{Actually, it gives me an idea for how Morgan discovers his new powers. Or at least, on of them. But I'll have to take momentary control of Katori. Is that okay with you, Kadiska?}

OOC:Sorry I haven't posted in so long. If I'd notice Inuki's post about her knocking half the house down I'd have posted then, but of course I hadn't been paying attention.

IC: John almost fell asleep when he felt his room shake. "What the ******** was that!!! That damn Avalanche what the hell is he doing down there???" John thought as he rolled out of bed. He threw on his flamethrowers and went downstairs to see what was going on. When he got to the bottom of the stairs he stood there and stared around. Half the hous was gone, and standing there were, Avlanche, Toad, and Blob. John started his flamethrowers. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU TO DO THIS HOUSE!!!!!" he cried. "It wasn't us," Avlanche said, as he took a step back, "It was Wanda!!" "WELL WHERE IS SHE???" John cried. The fire from his flame throwers jumped three feet. "We don't know!" Toad cried. "She left just a few seconds ago, and didn't say where she was going." John just stood there in rage. It took him a good ten minutes to calm himself down. He looked at Avalanche. "The car is still alright. Take it and rob the bank. Then go to a builder and pay them to fix this place up. If you need help I'll be there in a while.' Avalanche nodded and took off with toad in the blob to the bank.John stood there and focuesd his mind..Where are you Noko?? He waited for a second. "The hospital" A voice in his head replied. John went upstairs and grabbed a very large duffle bag. Putting his flamethrowers in thee, John took off and headed for the hospital. It took hm a good fifthteen minutes to get there. When he finally got there it took another five minutes to find Noko's room. When he finally got there, he found Noko laying awake in bed. He smiled. "How are you doing?"

(OOC: lol Oh, I know, Penance ^_^. Doesn't matter to Vivien. She just doesn't like the thought of being set apart. Even if she does that to herself half the time. She wants to be totally accepted and doesn't really understand that can't happen, even if she weren't mutant. That's made her really sensitive to anything connected to mutants (and a little withdrawn).
I'm sorry. It was wicked late when I typed up my last post.)

Vivien sat at the table, just watching cars pass by. She wondered what there was to do in this new place. Not that she'd come from some buzzing metropolis, but still.

She munched on the onion rings while she people-watched and thought. Eventually she stopped thinking and let herself eat.
She still watched the cars that passed, loving to analyze things by their color.
"Red car!" she thought cheerfully "Navy blue. White. Orange.".
Vivien sipped her shake and poked it with the straw. She liked chocolate.
It was the color of wisdom. It indicated a bond with nature. It tasted so good.
She took another gulp and smiled.

She was thinking about doing some color therapy later on. That bathroom would be perfect. She could light colored candles, change the walls to the appropriate color, maybe color the tub, and run some water to soak in.
"Red would be nice for the candles. I could use some extra energy. Maybe orange instead. That's good for creativity too." she sat, planning this, picking out colors that could help her tomorrow.

{Really? Perfect.}

Morgan had simply been walking down the hallway, making his way to the kitchen when he heard the sound of running coming from down the hallway. "What the-?" he started to say as the large canine rounded the corner, and started speeding directly towards him.

"s**t," he cursed when he saw the bared fangs. The canine leapt at him, strands of saliva dripping from his mouth. "GAH!" Morgan let out a cry and raised his arm in an attempt to defend himself, waiting to feel the fangs sink into his flesh. But no feeling came. Instead, he heard the sound of something being flung against the ground, and the startled yelp of the animal. When he looked, he saw that the canine had been thrown back several feet. It leapt again, and seemed to hit an invisible wall, then was again knocked backwards a few feet.

"What the ********?" Morgan remarked, a look of confusion on his face.

Regina thought about that on their return trip to the mansion. "I'm not sure. We are a special school and she is a special person... I guess logically it makes sense that she use her powers to teach us like that. She was getting her point across. For the most part. I wonder what Anna had to rush home for..."

(gen's still waiting for jean's response, so not gonna do anything there. ^^ and no rush penance, just a reminder)

OOC: I'll post for Jean shortly smile I kinda forgot about her.

IC:

"I guess I'm in the minority, then. I just don't see that being a mutant gives us any right to impose our powers on other people like that... unless in the event of saving our own hides which seems to come with the territory. Oh well, it was the most interesting conversation of the class," Penny shrugged and continued the drive to the mansion.

She moved onto the topic of Anna, "It had to be urgent otherwise Chuck wouldn't have contacted her like that. And it must not have concerned the rest of us or surely you would have heard him too."

Regina noted the way Penny worded that, "And not you?"

"Maybe, depends on how generous he's feeling."

"What?!"

"I grew up in a house where my mother was a telepath and she was buddies with Xavier... when you want to be left alone bad enough, you'll learn to block people out. Xavier probably is the only one that can crack my head game." Penny said it matter of factly. She was by far the least interesting of the mutants on campus in what they can do. She just spends a lot of time training tricks to help her in the future... the future that didn't involve being at Xavier's.

She pulled into the garage and immediately heard the pandamodium in the hallways, "Something's going on in there."

Ororo could be heard over the speakers addressing all students: PLEASE MOVE TO ONE OF THE SECURE INSTITUTE AREAS. THE SCHOOL IS IN LOCK DOWN UNTIL FURTHUR NOTICE. THESE AREAS ARE THE INFIRMARY OR THE DANGER ROOM. PLEASE MOVE IN AN ORDERLY FASHION. ANY STUDENT CAUGHT DISOBEYING WILL BE DEALT WITH BY SCHOOL POLICY... Of course, anybody who knew how to get to the War Room, which Penny did, could go there. It was secure as well.

"What the hell?" Penny said as Kitty grabbed two younger students and phased them through the floor down into the lower levels. The smell of Kurt's brimstone BAMFing filled the hallway. From the sound of Ororo's voice, Penny could tell this wasn't a drill.

Quickly, Penny went back to her car and grabbed one of her myraid of weapons. Regina pulled her into a shadow and they went through the hallways. Of course, they were one of said sstudents who were supposed to go into lock down. Of course, they weren't going to. They came out of shadow when they saw a very big dog trying to attack Morgan... who was producing some kind of forefield?

"What the hell? School is in lock down and Morgan has manifested new powers? Is tonight a full moon? Seriously?" Penny said and then recgonized the dog from the porch, "I knew I didn't like that dog. Where's Reaper?"

"Hey pooch, want to play?" Penny had no idea what the dog was capable of, but she needed to get him off Morgan becaue the guy really didn't seem to know what the hell was going on with himself.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 17, 2005 9:56 am

"Well, actually, this is what the Institute is built on top of. It's the home of the X-Men... only a few students have come down this far. It's been designed that even our teleporters can't get in. Some of the best technology in the universe is located on these levels," Jean started to show Gen around, "Only friends of the Institute could ever gain access to these levels."

"How's that?"

"Professor Xavier knows who he can trust. The entrance ways will not open without a hand imprint, eye scan, or DNA reading of one who wants to enter. You found a hand imprint entrance," Jean explained. Of course, she didn't have too much longer to explain anything when Ororo announced the lock down.

Jean seemed somewhat alarmed, "Come on, we need to get you back up to one of the secure areas. Usually you could stay here, but since you're new and since I need to get back up there..."

Jean took the girl back up an easier way, through a hidden elevator and left her off at the Infirmary where Hank McCoy was shuffling in students.

"What's going on?" Jean asked.

Hank tried to pull her aside and say, "Somebody brought in a mutant hunting dog... it got loose..."

"Great," Jean said and quickly ran back up towards the main level.

Alanna was actually somewhat disappointed to hear that she couldn't really control everything she wanted to control. Although, what Freya had said made sense. She really wanted to learn more from this girl, "I guess I can live with that... but I just want to control more, you know? I'm tired of this thing controlling me. My brother told me once that if I don't want to be controlled then I shouldn't be controlled... but it doesn't seem that easy. If it is, I haven't figured it out yet. My hair still turns red when I'm angry and my skin turns minty when I'm sick... and lord knows I can't move mountains, only make flimsy walls."
