Lin blinked staring for a moment before nodding, and looked back, "I guess no passing out now."
She glanced back up the volcano and stared for a moment realizing that the two were up there.
"Out of all of the places they had to be..."

"Queshions can wait f'later," Earendil slurred, falling to his knees. "I'm pass'n out ... any ... wa..." And he fell to the ground, fast asleep.
Only a moment later, Kelirahc and Leyenda both appeared from the volcano's side, and the two of them started down towards where Lin and Earendil were waiting for them.

"Crap....." Lin muttered the word out of her mouth before she could think.
She went over to him and made sure Earendil didn't injure himself before passing out, the ground was hard and he could have hit something harder on the way down. Then she moved him so he was in a more comfortable position so he wouldn't be uncomfortable.

It was only about a minute or so before Leyenda and Kelirahc reached Earendil and Lin, and they looked down with surprise at their cousin.
"Is he all right?" Leyenda asked anxiously, kneeling next to him and checking his vitals.
Kelirahc looked at Lin worried. "He not bad hurt?"

Lin shook her head, "Tired, used too much energy."
She then switched back to common tongue because she didn't have enough vocabulary at the moment to explain more.
"We got caught in the rain, which pushed us off track, so Earendil had to use his stones to find our way back, and he then used his stones to find the both of you. It's just overusing his magic so he's really tired."

"Find us?" Leyenda repeated, her eyes growing wide. "Is something wrong? Did something happen?"
Kelirahc took a step back and touched his mark, and his dragon shimmered into being in front of him. He crouched next to Earendil and heaved him onto his back, then climbed carefully onto the dragon.
"Come," he said firmly. "Take him back."

Lin looked a bit amused despite the fact her best friend was passed out on the ground, "Leyenda, you do realize you and Kelirahc have been gone a week? Have either of you told anyone you'd be gone that long?"
Granted there were a few bizzare things that Lin wanted cleared up but beyond that... nothing too serious.
"And originally Earendil and I came back early from our trip because we had questions, mainly about weather pattern and if there was any reason that the village would not be active at night."
She paused and then added.
"Earendil and I got caught in the rain, and we somehow made it to the village so we stayed in Kelirahc's hut for the night. We woke up maybe two hours or more before sunrise and no one else was around."

Leyenda hesitated as she moved towards the dragon, but then Kelirahc helped her up and as she made herself comfortable on the dragon's back she said, "Well ... we've been going in and out of the camp for ... weeks now ... and Mother and Papa haven't said anything. We didn't think it would be a big deal now ..."
Kelirahc motioned for Lin to join them atop the dragon. "Hurry," he urged her, "we get Earendil to beach."

"Yes but you've been gone a week," Lin replied as she hurried to join them on top of the dragon.
Once she got settled back down she then added.
"You also have to remember we just experienced a heavy rain fall while you're gone, it's only natural to worry."

Leyenda looked at Kelirahc and wrapped her arms around his stomach as the dragon kicked off from the ground.
"Kelirahc said that the rain was nothing to worry about," she called back to Lin, "that everyone at the beach would be safe ... and we've been gone longer before ..."
And suddenly she seemed to remember something else.
"But he did say that the shelter would not be enough for the rains that are going to be coming," she added as an afterthought. "For about the next half year it's going to be their rainy season, and it's going to make the rain three days ago look like a light shower."

"Does the people in the village by any chance move right before the raining season starts?" Lin inquired remember how quiet the village had been?
Only now that it would occur to her though she was mentally shaking her head at Leyenda. For some reason Leyenda didn't seem to get that people would get worried after a while, Rhea obviously had been, but Lin didn't push on it.

Leyenda had no answer to Lin's question, and instead she turned and asked Kelirahc. The night elf turned and answered Lin's question for her.
"Before rain come, village move east," he called back over his shoulder. "Live in trees, high up for no flood, safe from rain."
"Which would explain why you and Earendil couldn't find them," Leyenda noted.

Lin's eyes glazed over at the idea of living in really tall trees, which she shook her head to snap out of it. Honestly what was with her and heights these days she was just as bad as her mother, but she admitted it sounded like fun.
"Yes, that would explain a few things," Lin nodded, "So we would have to go back to the ship, the beach will be the first places to flood."

Leyenda nodded. "Though with how determined Earendil is with his mapping," she laughed, "I don't know if rain or floods would keep him from trying to do his job."
"Beach no flood," Kelirahc called back over his shoulder, somehow having overheard Lin's comment about it. "River flood, but no beach. Beach safe if have good shelter ... shelter now no safe, no strong."

And they wouldn't have time to make a stronger shelter or at least Lin didn't think so.
"Not enough time to do that.... make a stronger shelter," Lin murmured.
