Rei saw Varro walk into the clasroom and looked towards him with a really warm smile. At last, someone she recognized. All the young new shinobi were flying beneath her radar, the way she was feeling. She wanted to be rather unobtrusive if she could. She was feeling a little tired, and seeing Varro brightened her day a little and he looked like he had a lot on his mind. Since sensei was covering jutsus they had already learned, she wanted to try to snag a minute to talk to him.
Shige raised himself into a sit upon seeing Varro enter the room and his tail thumped the floor a couple times. Even at his current size, about the size of a large border collie, his tail was powerful enough to do some damage so Rei decided to give him something to do. She tapped his back and focused her bright gold/amber eyes onto Varro and nodded. The tap had made Shige look up at her, he saw what she was focused on and trotted up to Varro. He stood up on his hind legs and placed his forepaws on his chest. After that he was almost Varro's height, he looked into his eyes, wagged once and started to trot back to Rei. Rei hoped he would get the message, especially once she waved and smiled when he looked up at her.

"Umm...no not exactly. I-" Riku was suddenly cut off from his conversation with Rei by LT's entrance. As the man spoke, Riku just seemed to give the jounin a dull stare. The man was obviously trying to mess with them, and Riku wasn't about to fall for it. Despite LT showing them how to learn the water manipulation jutsu LT was showing them, Riku stayed still and stared back at Shige. The technique was something he was already very familiar with. From the looks of it, he wasn't the only one.

"Well Dante,I really don't know any medical jutsu,I'm more of a ninjutsu,taijutsu person"Kesuden said as he looked at Dante as he didn't think of him being the medical ninja type,but Kesuden can always be proven wrong,as he was some of the time...

Rei hoped Varro had seen her invitation as she turned back to the Shinobi, Riku, that had addressed her earlier. "Do you need to learn this jutsu? I've been here for a little while, so I already know this one and Water Clone. Sorry LT cut you off a bit though, he really is cool. You should see him with Squad 3."
((I didn't just learn Water Clone, just a head's up, I auto-learned it during the 3 week time skip))

Riku grew a faint smirk and glanced back at Rei. "Cool, huh? Well, I learned this jutsu a while ago, along with the fish spit, release, and water clone techniques. I guess you could say the only thing I have left to learn as an Academy Student would be the village swordstyle." his eyes then seemed to drift off for a bit. "That being said, I haven't thought of any squad I'd like to join yet. Maybe I'll check this Squad 3 you mentioned."

Rei spoke, "Glad I could be of help, I think I'll be placed in a whole different squad. A new squad." Rei took that as a conversation ender and decided to practice her jutsus for fun while Shige went to chill with Varro for a minute.

(Who's here that needs to learn the first two jutsu? A lot seems to be progressing while I'm at work. I can only check on this rarely.)  Varro kept his attention on Lt until he felt a nudge, he turned and saw the large dog Shige who then propped his paws up on his chest. Varro gave a quiet laugh and pet the dire on the top of his head.
"Hey boy, good to see you too," He said in a low voice as he looked over to Rei who smiled and waved him over. He continued to pet Shige as he watched Lt, the teachers attention seemed focused on the new students who he had not worked with yet. Figuring they had sometime he stood up, grabbing his pack before heading over to were Rei was.
"Hi Rei, looks like we got a bit of a head start to some of the others," He said to her, the smile she gave him making his own mood feel brighter, the sleepiness his body felt nearly vanishing from his mind. He turned to the other boy, Riku, who had been talking with her.
"Hi, names Varro Hai'Auo," He stated, extending his hand to the boy.

Rei nodded in response to Varro's statement about them being ahead, and reached down to pat Shige. His tongue was lolling and his tail was wagging. Rei was glad Shige had made a friend. She thought she had made a friend too as she watched Varro introduce himself to Riku

Rei smiled and nodded, "We started here three weeks ago together along with Mizu. I think we hit it off ok." She looked up at Varro and smiled, she wondered what he would say. Then, she realized that she was smiling a lot more than normal and she didn't quite why. He was smiling too so she guessed she made that ok. She wondered what Riku was thinking...

Varro took Riku's hand when the boy had taken his, giving it a firm shake before sitting back. Thinking that it may be more appropriate to introduce himself as a Ushio rather then the name he had been given by his father that hid who they were. Hai'Auo wasn't the name he was supposed to have, but it was a name he had carried with him for seventeen years. This recent finding would take some adjustment, and right now, at this stage he didn't feel like a Ushio. He felt like a normal person, an architect, an inventor, and now someone training to become a warrior. A Hai'Auo, who while successful, was a simple hard working family, not a family of legendary mist shinobi's.
He turned to Rei when the question about their knowledge of each other was asked, and how she smiled could only be replied with an equally beaming smile of his own. Her response was flattering enough, cause he could hear in her voice the slight bit of modesty.
"Yeah, she was nice enough to give me some medicine that helped with aches and pains during the Sanbi attack. We then trained together and I think we hit it off very well," He stated, turning to Riku as he talked, he reached down and patted Shige on the top of his head, "Isn't that right boy?"

Shige's tail hit the ground twice when Varro patted his head. As he studied Riku, Shige didn't understand what he was feeling. The other humans seemed to be reacting well to him so he could react well too. He laid down his ruff and sat a little bit nicer.
Rei noticed a change in Shige, he was acting civilly. Sometimes, his human traits disturbed her... That led her to wonder, what did her friends think of her animalistic traits? She was proud of her Clan to no end, but at that second, she felt a little bit different and out of place with the red fangs on her face, fangs in her mouth and wolf's eyes shining out at everyone. She lowered her head and let her hair cover her face like a veil. Shige came toward her and poked his muzzle between the curtain of her hair and wagged his tail, everyone else forgotten in that moment. She smiled and giggled at that moment, their bond was inseparable. He risked exposure to strange shinobis to comfort her. She didn't know if she'd ever find a bond like that with humans. She just had to smile at Shige's antics. She loved him very much, and she knew he loved her.
Rei looked back up at her friend Varro and let her golden eyes sparkle. She looked back at Riku, "What's your first element going to be? Varro and I both started with water coincidentally." She looked toward VArro, "And speaking of which, what happened between you and LT? You seem to have a lot on your mind, i'd love to know what's up. Unless you wanna talk later?" She cocked her head and looked up at him.

Riku didn't seem to react much to the hinting attraction between Varro and Rei, but turned still politely answered Rei's question. "I'm not sure of my first element, actually. I'm beginning to think that it's probably going to be water though."

"I know Varro and I were going to spar and work on water jutsus together sometime, maybe you could come sometime too?" Shige started to react, but she tapped him between the shoulder blades to quiet him. She knew she wasn't being quite fair, but they'd go over it at the Inuzuka Clan Compound later. She looked at Riku to see what he'd say.
