[ F α u s † ]
Character(s): Maximillion Alexander Faust II [Faust]. Status: Relieved, and somewhat curious. Location: Traverse Town: Second District - Hotel Cafe.
--- "I think I prefer 'Max'-- and we won't need an escort, but if you'd like to make sure we make it there safely, I wouldn't be opposed." Faust nodded in acknowledgement, the sudden rush of relief he felt suppressed ruthlessly to prevent it from reaching his eyes. Flicking his hand towards the entrance in a motion to leave, he suddenly noticed that the Youni was craning to see around him, and turning his head slightly, he saw what it was she was staring at with such a fixed interest-- a wall? She wouldn't look at a wall with that amount of interest... would she? His eyes narrowing in suspicion, he turned and looked back at the girl, who was entirely unaware of his open scrutiny, then looked back at the solid wall. No... surely she can't-- can she really see throu--
This revelation was rudely interrupted when he noticed Aerith settling the bill. Eyes widened almost imperceptibly, he began to move forward and interrupt, but stopped-- Aerith's expression as she paid the bill blatantly told him that there would be no discussion of the matter. Feeling slightly bothered that he had not been able to settle the bill, his mind began to work out a solution as Aerith turned towards him, and the waiter began to leave.
"We do have to go through the Third District, but we do it rather often anyway, so it shouldn't be too much trouble. You're welcome to come along regardless." Nodding again, Faust motioned towards the door once more. "I'll come-- but if you'll wait for me outside? I need to use the bathroom." Turning without waiting for a reply and retrieving his scabbarded blade, Faust began to walk towards the bathroom-- and appeared to stumble on the carpeted floor. Eyes widening, he reached out for balance-- and crashed lightly into the thankfully non-French waiter. Raising himself up swiftly, he quickly dusted himself off, and courteously brushed the shocked waiter off as well. "My apologies-- are you alright?" The waiter nodded a surprised 'yes', and, nodding back, Faust moved past him, and headed towards the bathrooms at the back.
Now I'll find out what Youni's so intent on staring at-- if it's enough to make her take interest, then it may be useful to know. His mind quickly planning his next moves, he stealthily pocketed the small sum of munny he palmed from the waiter-- the munny Aerith paid for the meal. He'll find the same amount on him when he checks, but he won't notice that it's slightly grubbier, and that's fine-- I'll hand this munny to Youni while we're heading to this 'Merlin', and by the time Aerith realizes it'll be too late. Relaxing ever so slightly, he suppressed the feeling of satisfaction that arose, and continued his walk.

Alex watched Elde talk with the pirate and shook her head, laughing to herself. Take back what she'd thought before; he was most definately a flirt. Like she'd swoon over that. She stood up and followed Elde and Soryuju; information on Heartless was never something pass up.
She glanced at Soryuju. Of course there would be a catch. There always was a catch, even if you didn't realize it. There was always a "but..." in something like this. She did not know Rufus Shinra, hadn't even really heard of him much, either, and didn't trust him. If Soryuju trusted him, Alex would only because the leader of the group was (which, as she thought about it, was very odd, being as she usually was quite independent) and they needed the info. But not more than that.
She stood near the doors in the room, leaning on the door frame and waited. If she didn't like the catch, she'd bow out gracefully, and go kill time killing Heartless or something.
| I simply hunt Heartless, nothing more. If you need that, then I am your girl.|

[Ölüm]
(Unfortunately, there is not a fleck of remorse within me.)
[Castle Oblivion : Haruko's Room]
Ölüm was, to say the least, uninterested with the idea of helping. It was not that he was uninterested with the work, but rather, that he had a more loftier goal set. All the while why Haruko spoke, he eyed her viciously from head to foot and listened intently for what she said. He did so subtly, but effectively.
"My dear Haruko," he said, "I believe that the addition of perhaps acid would be in order..."
Ölüm was very much interested in Haruko as it seemed that she should have more to her. Perhaps he was fooling himself, but it was better to start of smaller with the personalities of the Conclave and work up rather than try and analyze the nobodies in the group.

Nalo looked a little disappointed. He wanted to get to know his new friend better, but Soryuju up and left him with strangers. Nalo looked to Suzuran and Souzourou before leaving to gather his fruit and go. Enyb and Solaris were still waiting for him. He grinned at Alex as he left. He remembered her from earlier in the fight as well. "Hey." Nalo walked into the cool air outside and wound back to through the large first district gates. "ENYB!" Nalo called out. "Solaris! I brought back food!" Nalo bent down to the mint chocobo and offered his green friend some fruity treats.

{OOoo Goody! What are we torturing today?} [Castle Oblivion :: Haruko's room] Haruko smiled at the idea of adding acid to her collection of torture. "Ooo I would love that!" she shouted and hugged Ölüm and ran around the room to set it up. "Do you happen to have or make acid? Personally I haven't decided what to use it for but I'm sure I will think of something!!" she squealed and then looked closely at Ölüm. Ölüm to her seemed like for once actually cared about her. Considering that all of the other Conclave members do not really like her it is a start. If she had that one friend maybe she could feel whole again. She shivered at the thought and said "Maybe I can make a higher form of an acid??"

[Ölüm]
(Unfortunately, there is not a fleck of remorse within me.)
[Castle Oblivion : Haruko's Room]
"What you are looking for is not the strongest, as the strongest would simply kille any and all things on contact... what you truly are looking for is something that makes the victim only wish they were ded..." Ölüm stated calmly.
For the first time for the day, he took out his whip from the placement on his side. Slowly, the whip unraveled itself against the natural force of gravity as if it were alive. It twisted and gently caressed Ölüm's side.
How close could I get to deathe with you my dear Haruko... ah, it is fun to say it in so many different ways. Different tongues of speak... deth, dath, deathe, death... all the same no matter who says it. How close you are to death, and how wonderful it would be to put irony into our little situation. Perhaps you haven't realized that there is only one ruler of Death, and it is watching Haruko. This omniscient ruler chooses who lives and who dies... it sees life and...
Suddenly, without warning, Ölüm snapped his whip upon the ground, creating a very loud crack and leaving small drops of acid upon the floor.
"That is the acid you will need... and only a few drops will make them wish they were dead. Do not worry, it won't hurt to the touch... I will make sure of that..." said Ölüm.
...it takes it

"Come now, boy, I can see quite a bit of magic in you," Merlin said, a scrutinizing glance being his only real reaction before linking his arm in with the young man's. "Deep breath now!"
Before Solaris had much of a chance to question what was going on, he would have felt a strange pressure on his chest- not enough to be painful, but enough to feel uncomfortable. His eyesight was immediately obscured by smoke, but before long, it was gone... and the two seemed to be in a strange sewer, on a brick semi-circle looking over the flowing water.
"Ah, yes, I was worried about something like this..." Merlin muttered, immediately walking away from the boy toward the water's edge and looking into it pensively. "Poison. Quite a bit, by the looks of it, but not quite enough to be fatal. Might give some people an upset stomach... still, if the children get some..."

[Second District : Hotel-Cafe]"Of course," Aerith replied with a light nod. With a gentle hand grasping Youni's, the young woman in pink lead the other outside the Café, back into the district plaza. Across the small plaza was a bench, and Aerith decided to take a seat, crossing the cobblestone path with grace.

{A heart shed for power is the only heart of worth.}
[Castle Oblivion : Commons Area (AKA Kitchen)]
"Good. A bit of Paopu Tea is good for the heart. Physically, I mean," Vereor responded to Zigmund, a light, hollow chuckle escaping his lips as he prepared the water to boil. Across the room, Diogenes left Zekvyr's side, a small frown creasing his features as he walked over, his eyes narrowing at Vereor before taking a seat at the table. While the water began to boil, Vereor readied the crumpets on a platter, placing them in the center of the spherical table.
"It'll be just a moment," he assured them, returning to the water as it began to reach the boiling point.

{Ooo Goody! What are we torturing today?!} [Castle Oblivion :: Haruko's Room] Haruko smiled at Ölüm as the whip cracked on the ground. Personally that didn't scare her since she was trained like a dog not to. "That would make the most sense Ölüm. I see you get my game the only thing now is to decide how to apply this demon." She looked at Ölüm and looked back at the acid. "I trust you Ölüm but I cannot pick it up with my hands in a lab. There is a method to these things that even I must follow!" She went over to her desk and picked up a small baster and walked back to where she had seen the liquid drop. "Carefully..." she whispered mainly to herself. She then moved the instrament over the acid and carefully put the liquid inside of it. She then put it inside of the bottle and sealed it tight before setting it on another table. "Well I am glad that deed is done!" she smiled and huged Ölüm. "I wonder what Verefor will make us do when we get a mission! Oh how I want a mission Ölüm!" She continued to giggle and bounced around her room again full of energy.

((Long post is long and crappy. XD. Sorry, I'm catching up.)) Bard of Lore Tsurumi
I'd prefer if you were to just...
...disappear
{Castle Oblivion ~ Commons Area}
Turning away from Haruko, she began to examine her surroundings. Not much to say about it. A rather bland and disgusting place. Turning on her heel, she made her way towards the exit, deciding to explore what mysteries her room might hold. It was as she was walking out that something Diogenes was doing caught her eye. He seemed to standing off to the side, looking at the shadows. Somewhat curious, she sent a small breeze to blow through the area. Just Diogenes and what she had taken for a statue or some semblance of ventilation. Well, until it talked. And moved. And that was quite enough to draw her away from the mysteries of her room.
Strolling nonchalantly across the area, she came to a stop directly outside of the shadows. With another small breeze, she picked out where the two were standing. "You know, you have an incredible stillness about you. Why, I almost thought that you were a statue, or some form of ventilation unit. If you wouldn't have moved, I would never have noticed you." She said to the man in the shadows (Zekvyr). She mentally chided herself for not being more aware. She wouldn't let a slip like that happen again. [ ȤęҟνƴƦ ] {Don't fear the dark... fear what's in it.} [Castle Oblivion : Common Room] The proud drow turned his cold gaze onto Tsurumi, a gaze she could only feel and not actually see, as Zekvyr was still in his shadows. They were almost un-naturally dark, these shadows, if one really observed them, but this place was home to rather dark creatures- It's not like dark shadows were unexpected. He stiffened as Diogenes walked off, but otherwise showed no physical signs that he had been offended by it. The mind reader had made it a point to come over and make his acquaintance, only to become suddenly disinterested and walk away. How he hated mind readers, though that thought could easily be covered up by his general contempt for everyone in the room. In response to Tsurumi, Zekvyr stepped up to the edge of these dark shadows, most likely unheard by her as he came within a step of where she was standing. Unseen as well, for these were no normal shadows. He didn't know how she had spotted him, and although the thought didn't sit well with him, he didn't truly consider her a threat. It only took an instant. One moment the shadows were there, the next, they were simply gone. Vanished. Zekvyr was revealed as standing directly in front of Tsurumi, the woman taller than him, but his image as intimidating not faltering because of that. He offered her an evil smile in response to her comment, and passed by her, paused, turned back toward her and put a finger to his lips before beckoning her to follow. He made his way over to the Kitchen Area of the commons, silent but very much out of the shadows now. Still, it was odd to see how well he blended in as he moved, like he could easily walk up next to a person and that person would never know he was there.

[*~Youni~*] "...."
[First district: Following Aerith>Hotel Cafe]
....Everything started with nothing.
and things moved with no sense ....
.... the presence of many buffering against it
.... imprinting what was missing.

Only Aerith’s silent gesture was able to break the spell that seemed have fallen upon the girl, Youni rose from her chair, watching as the healer kindly and respectfully refused the offer, but insisted he come regardless, which confused her. If His presence wasn’t needed, then why should he still accompany them? Besides… if something did happen, both Youni and Aerith were capable of defending themselves.
It wasn’t like Youni was thinking this because she was some feminist, or felt any pride in being able to fight, she simply found it illogical. Aeriths actions often contradicted what was physically true. Like when she saved the last piece of food for someone else, regardless if she was still hungry or not. Or when she holds a door open, when that person’s hands were not injured, and their arms were perfectly capable of moving on their own accord. And it was that obscure behavior, which kept Youni’s attention this long. Most of the villagers in traverse town had fallen into a repetitive routine that she soon memorized, but Aerith and her friends were so unpredictable. They kept her watching, thinking, and learning. And now, adding to this group of unpredictable people was Fau- no- Max! It was Max now!
‘His name changed?’ she wondered. How does one person possess more than one name? Does everyone here have another name too, and she simply hadn’t heard it yet? Not resisting when she was lead outside by the hand- she still glanced over her shoulder at the strange ‘Max’ who was now going to the bathroom. Before they slipped out the door, her eyes drifted briefly towards the strange room where all those people disappeared into… and she wondered as she always did.
Outside the café, Youni was towed across the square to the bench where her lovely and gentle teacher sat down. Obviously to wait for Max.
“Aerith, why do we call Faust, Max now? Why do we wait for him even though he has no reason to come?” Her question was callus and blunt. It sounded cold and rude, and anyone lesser would easily be angered by it, but her caretakers knew the innocent curiosity behind her monotone drawl and listless expression.

[Ölüm]
(Unfortunately, there is not a fleck of remorse within me.)
[Castle Oblivion : Haruko's Room]
Haruko's touch brought Ölüm's mind over the edge. He tried with all of his might to resist an urge that came up out of him like a giant bubble waiting to burst at any second. However, instead of tensing, Ölüm relaxed in her embrace for the urge in his mind brought him at peace with... her.
That was the dangerous part. The constant reminder of her in his life made him this way, and thus, his feelings were as shallow as a nobodies, but at the same time, much more deep than anyone could perceive. The depths of his mind were riddled with confusion, fear... but most of all, hatred. Hatred turned to vengeance, and vengeance to complete and total insanity.
He stared blankly ahead to the other side of the room and held no expression upon his face. The bubble would have burst if it had not been for the comfort of the sight before him:
As Haruko hugged him, Ölüm pictured a vast desert filled to the brim with huddled masses of people. One by one, starting with a man in the middle of the masses, their hearts flew up from their bodies into oblivion, and a chain reaction of the death occurred until not one person, man, woman, child stood in the desert.
Vengeance was no longer his goal in the Conclave...

I'd prefer if you were to just...

{Castle Oblivion ~ Commons Area}
When Vereor tossed the necklace to her, she motioned with her left hand in a sort of scooping motion, her eyes not leaving the shadows. When it got within a foot of her, it stopped and floated in midair, a small ball of air surrounding it, not allowing it to move or drop to the ground.
With a small breeze swirling around the shadows in front of her, she was able to tell where the shadow man was hiding. If she couldn't see, she would feel his presence. And feel his presence she did. Both by the wind and something that he did. A rather strange feeling overcame her, making her ponder what was happening. However, she couldn't identify the feeling
And then he moved. He seemed to step right up to her and stand there. Was he waiting for her to do something? I should be able to tell if he moves or tries to attack. I doubt he is faster than the wind... She thought to herself as she turned her left hand into a fist.
When the shadows vanished, she was startled, but managed to cover her surprise within seconds. But it was still noticeable. She thought with disgust. Watching the man, she followed his path as he passed by her then beckoned her to come with him.
So he thought he could control her, hmm? Oh, how foolish that thought was. NOBODY controlled her. She would kill anybody who thought they could. Still...it might be useful to let him believe that for the moment. So, stopping to grab the necklace from the sphere of air keeping it aloft and fasten it around her neck, she walked after him.
Upon reaching him, she hooked her arm through his left arm and held tight, regardless of whether he was still walking or not.

[ ȤęҟνƴƦ ] {Don't fear the dark... fear what's in it.} [Castle Oblivion : Common Room] "So much potential for chaos," Zekvyr said, quoting her words from earlier, and pointedly looking in Diogenes's and Vereor's direction. They seemed to be getting ready for tea. Nothing unusual there, right? Other than tea being completely out of place in this setting, of course, for one who didn't know Vereor's tendency to inhale it like oxygen. He stopped not far away, and could feel her presence closing in, closer than he wanted; she hooked her arm around his. It was obvious she had no intention of letting go. Curious... "I saw the look in your eyes when you were talking with Ölüm. Harming our comrades is generally discouraged," Zekvyr warned, stopping short of the table, and keeping his voice low to avoid being heard. "You will discover shortly what I mean when you meet the superior. Disloyalty is not tolerated; however, there are. . . loopholes." He turned his attention back to Vereor and Diogenes.
