Lily Stinson

Lily walked with a steady pace. Unsure of what she would do just yet. It was late, no one was really awake, and she really had nothing better to do. She didn't need to study, she gotten all that done during her lunch. And mid terms where already passed. These where the slow days at university, which she only attended to make her mother happy.

"Strange how your life can go to full of excitement to down right dull." the inheritance baby stated dully as she walked the halls, spotting the all to familiar vending machines, she sighed. She was going to have to call her mother later that day, have her with draw more money from her bank, and bring it to her.

The girl idly took her last dollar bill, and a quarter and placed it in the Beverage machine, going through all the selections before making hers of Dr. Pepper. She pressed the button hard with her thumb, and listened to the sound of the machine vending her product. "These damn things have to be so noisy!" she said as she looked around the halls, wondering if the loud thump the machine made would of woken anyone from their slumbers. The dorm room where not all that sound proof, cold, and drafty to add with it. But they suited their purpose. Short living quarters for collage students.

She smiled as she pulled her 20 oz bottle out from the cavity that it fell in, and began her wondering around once again. There really wasn't anything interesting going on. No fights to spy on, no late nighters just coming in from a night of party. Had she been that shut up lately? Everything seemed to be at a scary stand still for a collage hallway. But come to think of it, things have changed so much since the meteors hit, it was ridiculous. She was just greatful that the world didn't end in some catastrophic even like the T.V always predicts. -which is good reason she doesn't watch it.-

Getting frustrated with not having anything to do, she stopped in front of the stairs, the one access to the roof. "Why not? Isn't like mother is going to find this on my bank statement. Or find out from a nosy friend, for that matter." she said to herself once again, with how many conversations Lily had with herself, she should be her own best friend.. The small girl chuckled at that thought, and began to make her way up the tiring flights of stairs.

Finally after 10 long minutes, she reached the top of the stairs. Smirking as she saw the black lettering on the metal door that simply stated. "ROOF" she shook her head and pushed the bar, opening the door in yet another noisy movement. Then she made her way to her usual spot, the east end, where little lights shown. Where she could easily catch the sun begin it's climb in the sky. .

(Editted, sorry I didn't realize. Early morning okay? So I don't have to start from scratch?)

(It's actually around morning. The gang just had breakfast Taquitos at Shane's dorm.)
(Side note, every college dorm I've been to have been pretty well put together. Maybe that's just UT Knoxville, though.)

To his dismay, Ako heard footsteps on the stairs above him. Oh well, it was a big roof, he'd just go to a different side. Maybe they were even going to a different floor. He sighed when he heard a door opened, too far up to be a different floor. Screw it, it wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to him in 24 hours.

He opened the roof access door and took a deep breath of the air. It was only a little cleaner than street level, but it was better than the air inside. A cool breeze caught this jacket and blew it back a bit, and he held his arms out to try and catch all of it. It reminded him of Tansy's flight yesterday, how he wished he could have joined her.

He wondered if Tansy knew how he felt about her as he walked towards the edge of the roof. He was a mix of jealousy and love, wishing he had his own set of wings, and at the same time loving how beautiful they made her look. He wished she would hide them, they made her look angelic.

He reached the edge of the roof, putting his toes right on the edge. He opened his arms again to catch the breeze, even leaning into it a little. A voice in the back of his mind reminded him of what would happen should the wind suddenly cut out, but he knew he would be able to catch himself. Better reflexes were just one of the benefits the meteor had given him.

((Also, I didn't say they wasn't put together well. It's just that in my experance with Dorm rooms, they are always too cold and just suited to be dorm rooms. ))

Lily sighed as she heard the door open and close behind her. Looks like someone else had the same idea as me. Wouldn't think any other student would be up this early. she thought to herself. At the same time she cocked her head behind her, just quickly enough to get the glimpse of a male she had never seen before.

"Odd.." she mused to herself as she placed her hands back on the roof top wall. "Must be a new transfer or something.." her voice low enough for only herself to hear, she turned her face back to the rising sun. A slight smile placing her tiny face as it climbed, warming her cheeks with it's baking light.

As Lily stood there, watching the yellow orb of fire burn through the sky, she began to let her mind wonder. Able to freely think, and come up with conclusions outside, where the air was fresh, and she wasn't surrounded by four walls. How long do I have to pull this good girl charade for my mother to unlock my accounts?? she asked herself, not wanting to make her thoughts aloud, due to the other body that occupied the roof with her.

She closed her eyes for a moment, feeling the sickly sweet smell of the air. Feeling the cooling breeze on her face. Then, she opened her brown optics once again, looking down at the long fall, pondering what she could do that would put her mother on edge. Bungee jumping from the roof top was sure to make head lines.. Or at least it use to.. Lately all the head lines I've seen where about those injured, and accidents that have been happening. If you aren't in ICU might as well forget making the paper. her mind grimly gossiped with herself as she leaned forward, her elbows now sitting on the wall, followed by her lower abdomen.

(Ah, okay. I just remembered I have no room to talk. The building my friends stay in is undergoing some mysterious renovation, which for some reason involves at least one hole in every wall.)

"Careful." Ako said. Curious, he'd turned to watch her soon after she'd spoke of him. He saw her edging close to the side, and had an idea of what she was thinking. He'd thought about doing the same thing at one point, that's why he was so comfortable this close to the edge.

"A fall from this height wouldn't kill you, just really screw up your day. And your week, maybe even the next month." He stepped off the wall, landing on the roof with a thump before sitting back on the wall. He wasn't usually one to speak up to strangers. He wondered why he'd spoken up to this girl.

Lily was startled by the mans voice, she quickly turned, facing him. her hands still placed on the walls tops. Keeping her balance. She smiled toward the man as he spoke to her, telling her to be 'careful' as if she was going to jump or something. She might be a extremist, but that was a little to much.

She folded her arms over her chest, cocking her head towards the man, giving him a slight acknowledgment of her attention. "Well. I am being careful, sir. I was just simply admiring the morning rush.. " she joked as she kicked herself away from the wall. She didn't understand why he would of gotten the idea of her falling. "As tempting as free falling sounds. I'm not that stupid. I don't have wings or something, but bungee jumping does sound more fitting." she spoke again, a bit more amusement, with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

She then began to hear her mothers nagging voice in the back of her mind. 'introduce yourself girl. Don't be rude!" Rolling her eyes at the reminder, that even when she tried to get away, the old bat seemed to follow her where ever she went. It was really frustrating. "I'm Lily. " she said, allowing her name to roll of her tongue with such elegance. She dipped her head in a slight bow, a sign of respect at the same time. "And no, I wasn't going to jump. If that's what you where thinking." she said, tilting her head back to the halfway wall. It's concrete top chipped and cracked from years of weather.

"Neither would you have to worry about seeing someone fall past your dorm window. The Bungee jumping part was a joke.. " -assuming he was a student, of course- her voice erupted once more past her lips. She examined the man closely, watching for any signs of discomfort, or a sign of rush. She was good at telling when people would much rather be left alone then enjoy some good, crazy company.

(I would of added a bit more of a POV on her side when she first saw Ako. Only thing is. I couldn't find a Ako on the character sheet, is he Haru Riosu??)

Tansy smiled as she munched on the breakfast muffin thing. She looked outside the window. The sky looked amazing. The way the wind rustled through the trees made her long to spread her wings and take flight. But now was not the time. She sighed as she finished the bisque and placed her plate in the sink and rinsed it off.

She looked around the kitchen once more and sighed. This place seemed almost like her home. Okay, not really... but it was much better then the penthouse they had been staying in. This was more... real. She bit onto her bottom lip as she walked over and ran her hand over the stove. She sighed softly and hung her head as she stood there.

(Yes, I usually use one character name or the other, and I got them confused on this one. It was a few pages in before I realized, so I decided to just run with it.)

"Please don't call me 'sir.' My name's Ako. And I just wanted to make sure you weren't doing what I thought you might be doing. I've heard of some people taking that way out when college got tough. Kinda makes for bad conversation, though, let's change the subject."
Just chattering away, huh? Ako thought to himself before continuing.
"I don't know many people who hang out on rooftops. What are you doing up here, beside enjoying the sun?"

(Just like I forgot my normal speech pattern for Ako.)

Lily grinned as she watched the man rabble on with his words. Yes, she had to admit, it was a little odd someone being on the roof so early in the morning. But it was most the time a place of peace and quiet, however today fate had changed, and brought these two together for most likely useless conversation. But hey, whatever it took to get her mother off her back. At least for another week or so.

The girl ran her slender hand through her silken brown hair, pushing it out of her face. Her eyes examining Ako steadily, making sure he was making no threatening movements, she noted all his actions seemed to be friendly. Thank god. I wish I had a dollar for each time I had to quickly evacuate the area from perverts and freaks. she thought to herself, tilting her chin upward to face Ako more politely as she spoke.

"It would take alot, I mean alot to drag me to such measures. I think of that" she said nudging back to the wall once more "Is a idiotic, and coward way to rid yourself of a problem"

When she finished yet again, she noted just how short she was compared to Ako, it intimidated her a bit, sure most people where most the time taller then her, she just wasn't use to it. It didn't seem fair. She hated having too look up at people, it always strained her neck. -It reminded her of her mother. Even though mother looks like a goose she said to herself with a mental chuckle. - Not only was he insanely taller compared to her, but he was alarmingly handsome, having a pair of glasses perfectly against the bridge of his nose, shaggy black hair. Though his eyes told her another story, a story of hardship, perhaps. She shrugged it off, everyone had they're own problems.

"I just simply came up here because I was bored. It's to early for other students to be awake, and I can't do my usual hobbies because my mother doesn't approve of them...What's your reason?" she asked with another sweet smile, and nudge towards his body. Though as she watched him, she noticed that something was different about him, there seemed to of been a static in the air.

(Don't you hate it when that happens!?)

Gidget hops up from the floor and shouts at Shane, "I'll get Annie one of your shirts!"

Shane smiles at his peppy little sister, "Alright, I have a few t-shirts in the middle drawer." He looks over into the kitchen and sees Tansy with her head hung low. He feels a small knot in his stomach. There was nothing more sad than a despondent Angel, and he'd have to do something about that. Shane walks casually into the kitchen and says kindly, "Penny for your thoughts."

A minute later, Gidget bounces over to the bathroom with a T-shirt that has Monty Python's armless and legless black knight saying "It's just a flesh wound." She hopes Annie doesn't mind, and honestly can't understand how some people couldn't like that movie. "Here you go Annie."

A small smile pulled at Tansy's lips as she ran her hand through her hair and turned towards him. "Just remembering my lie before all this... and thinking how easy it was... compared to this." She sighed. "And I know that this is just the beginning of all of this." She winced as she reached back and scratched part of her wing. She rolled her shoulder and looked out the window. "Plus, that is a really nice wind." She laughed softly.

Shane nods considerably and strolls over beside her, then turns and looks out the window to. He says thoughtfully, "Life has a funny way of throwing curve balls at you. There are even time it may shoot a canon ball at you. I remember when Gidget told me she wanted to move in with you guys. I was terrified. I had taken care of her since our parents died years ago. Looking after my little sister was all I knew, what I built my life around. Next thing I know, I'm all alone in this apartment. It was really uncomfortable at first, but things worked themselves out. I know separation anxiety isn't anything compared to what you went through yesterday, but...y'know I was going somewhere with this and now I've lost my train of thought. Heh, guess I am only smart when I have my glasses on. He looks to Tansy and chuckles.

Yeah, idiotic. Good thing I didn't follow through with that idea. Ako thought. College hadn't driven him to do it, but it was one of the contributing factors. That was months ago, though, and fortunately, something had changed Ako's mind. He shook his head to clear the memories.
"Truthfully, I just needed some fresh air. I kinda had a rough day yesterday, and I needed to get outside." He could almost feel her looking over him, like she was studying him, or watching to see if he was about to do something.

Once he thought about it, he realized the probable reason. He stood at six feet with medium-length black hair, his clothes still had dust on them from the building's destruction, his jacket, which was already too intimidating according to his parents, now had singe marks at the ends of the sleeves, a clue to his power Ako hoped Lily wouldn't catch.

(Wow, mega brain block)

Smiling Annie took the shirt from Gidget and closed the bathroom door again. Relieved that her undergarments were in remarkably good shape considering everything she slipped on her bra and underwear and pulled the shirt over her head- it ended where a mini dress would on her. It covered her, though, and was clean (even if it smelled foreign to her).

Fluffing her auburn hair, she walked out of the bathroom to the kitchen where Shane and Tansy were. She listened to Shane talk about curve balls, and canons and it made her almost laugh. Smiling she said behind him, "The problem is when that curve ball or canon ball may be the death of you or others. Not all of us got relatively benign powers like Gidget."

Lily noticed the singe marks, in the back of her mind she wondered what had caused them, they where at the ends of his sleeves, down by his arms. Had he put his hands through fire for something? Maybe he was roasting marshmallows on a open flame or something. She shook the thought out of her mind once again, feeling the suns blaze against her back.

"We all have those kinds of days. " her soprano voice emitted from her mouth. She wondered why she hadn't seen this student before. Not only that, but she was beginning to doubt he was even a student, he was under far too much stress to be a regular college kid. "So, are you new here?" obvious quizzing in her voice.

The tiny nineteen year old pulled her cellphone from her pocket, revealing that it was vibrating. She looked at the I.D seeing it was her mother, she did need to speak to her about her current funding situation, but right now she had some decent conversation, and she didn't want to seem to be rude by answering her phone, and revealing her problems she had with her mother. "You know what I do when I'm having a bad day? I usually try and do something fun, something that will take my mind off whatever it was that has gotten me so stressed. " she hoped her insight would help, little did she know what exactly he was stressed about.

(Eh... Sorry it sucks. )

Shane nods appreciatively at Annie's input. "You must be referring to your own power. Gidget told me that you've had some issues with control. I'm not sure if I can help you with that, but I may be able to help you get a better understanding of your power."
