Relgan frowned. He didn't know what Tiberus was talking about but he saw no reason to stay at Treebend any longer. He slowly walked to Tiberus panting. "All right...but you're coming with us." He grabbed Tiberus by the collar with his 2 left arms and dragged him along, keeping the flame and water sword in his right arms just in case he did anything funny. "All troops retreat back to Kujin!" He commanded.

"Betraying your general and your nation, eh Tiberus?" a cold voice drawled. "I've always knew you were soft on the inside..." "What are you talking about?" Tiberus screamed hoarsely. "Can't you feel that presence? Don't you know that it's near? Don't you know what will happen when it fully awakens? DO YOU WANT TO DIE?" "I'm just a soldier, as are you, or have you forgotten that too? We have a duty to destroy this town and all its inhabitants." "Well that's all dandy," Tiberus spat out a mouthful of ichor in disgust. "They're all gone! Dead or worse, I'm not sticking around to find out what's happened to them!" Chimerus appeared in front of Tiberus in a flash of flame. "Whatever happens must be in accordance with General Wyndtalon's plans, and I accept that." "No, you fool! He's left us to die! The new breed we're testing out aren't the Goliaths! Can't you see that there are none here with us? The Council's testing out something else, and they're testing it on US!"

Relgan held up Tiberus with his 2 arms. "What are they testing!? What is it!? And what has it done!?" He said it in a voice that would terrify the average man. He was mad and his soldiers knew it.

Tiberus laughed dryly. "It's an amal-" His sentence was cut off as he froze, looking down to see a glowing blade poking out of his chest. Black ichor spurt from the wound, as Tiberus fell limp. "That fool speaks too much. Such secrets aren't meant for ordinary ears." Chimerus spat with disgust, turning away from the chaos in the courtyard. The glowing blade retracted itself from Tiberus's chest, wiped itself off on his face, and flew back to rejoin its owner.

Relgan drew his 4 swords. Although 2 of them seemed rusty they were still sharp and incredibly durable. "And just what makes my ears any more ordinary than yours?" He asked.

"I think the answer to that question is quite obvious," Chimerus snorted in disgust, not turning around to face Relgan. The ground beneath the both of them began to tremble, as the ominous presence stirred. Some lesser demons lying on the ground already began screaming out in agony. Chimerus laughed. "And it looks like it's almost awake. What are you going to do now, Kujin commander?"

Relgan sheathed his swords. "Go ahead and hide behind your beast, but one day it won't be there to protect you." He turned around and went to regroup with the rest of the Kujin forces.

"Won't be there to protect me?" Chimerus chuckled softly. "Even I definitely need protecting from it..." The demon turned and vanished in a flash of flame. The trembling in the ground grew louder and more forceful, as buildings began to crumble.

"Kaleel! Get with Alan and time-alter us."
"On it." kaleel said as they were all put in a ghost rush aura and the time-slowing spell was cast then uncast. They all started running in the time-altered state.

At about half way back to Kujin night fell. "We'll need to stop somewhere and rest for the night." He pointed to a village. It was the same one they had rested at on their way to the battle. "Over there should suffice for now." He led his soldiers into the village and they all went their seperate ways looking for a place to stay the night. Relgan walked into an inn and payed for a room. Once he went in he unsheathed his swords and layed them out. "Just what are these?" He asked himself.
"The last remnants of a mage long forgotten." Said a familiar voice walking into Relgan's room.
Kaleel sat on top of a rooftop looking up at the full moon. "Such a nice night." He said to himself.

[[for anybody else (Marrianna) that wants to remain and explore the 'deserted' town of Treebend, you're still more than welcome to do so. But to my knowledge the main Kujin force has already retreated.]]

The village of Treebend was eerily silent in the cold moonlight. There were no living beings to be found, as even the echoing moans of the lesser demon troop faded into the night. However, something much darker was about, as the shadows shifted and waited. Waited for a fool brave enough to test their existence... No wind blows through the streets of Treebend tonight...
