"A d-daughter?" Arashe stared, wide-eyed, at the pair, mouth agape at the energetic child. How a young girl like that could have a child and still look like any other warrior, as opposed to a mother, baffled the man.
"Pleased to meet you, Miss Alihi, Miss Amara." Arashe looked over towards the slowly energizing people in the rest of the room before turning back to the tactician. "What's all this about 'corrupted ones' or whatever you were talking about?"

Ninian awoke several hours later, feeling not well-rested, but better than she had a few hours prior. Slowly, she got up, got dressed, and headed downstairs to the kitchen. on the way, she noticed that Siegell's room was empty. A quick search told her that the locket was gone.
Trying not to worry too much about it--it would turn up eventually, she hoped--she set about making herself a simple breakfast. If anyone else happened to wander down, she'd make food for them as well. It was about all she could do anyways.

Outside, the Constabulary slept. Ghis had arrived earlier and had been amazed that, against the odds, everyone had survived, most likely due to avoiding confrontation. Even the mage and pegasus were still alive.
Though he'd missed it from lack of sleep, the Pegasus Knight sat on the ground, picking at individual bits of grass, staring at the ground in shock. She'd LITERALLY stared Death in the face, been FORCED to flee... and somehow, against all odds, had escaped. She wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry or... well, what to do. She just kept staring at the ground, picking at blades of grass.
Her Pegasus likewise seemed out of touch. It kneeled to the ground, flapping its wings to make sure they still existed, its head turning this way and that at any sound, as if to see if any hawks were flying about, anywhere at any time. It stayed a good distance away from the rider that had tried to get the two of them killed.

Alihi blinked as Amara continued to wave at the surprised man. "Uhm... Yes. This is my daughter. Is it really that shocking...?" She shook her head. "Anyways, that's not important right now. Have you heard about what's been going on around here? Some of our friends have been corrupted." The tactician stated simply, shifting her grip on Amara quickly and carefully. "Turned bad. Evil. Dark. I don't know what the correct term would be for the state their in, but the point is that they aren't their usual selves."
She then raised an eyebrow at him. "I don't believe I caught your name, sir..."

Cleaning up a few dishes at the sink, Ninian saw a flash of white. Glancing out the window, she saw a Pegasus. Confused, she set the dishes down to drip dry, and headed through the kitchen, into the living room, and outside.
To her surprise, she found a girl balled up, shaking, picking at the grass. She appeared to be a Pegasus Knight, judging from her dress. her Pegasus--if it was hers--seemed to be ignoring her, staying close but far away at the same time.
"Excuse me, miss?" Ninian asked, slowly walking towards the girl. "Are you alright? What happened to you?"
She knelt next to her, afraid to touch her in case she got even more scared than she already was.

The girl stared at the ground for a moment longer, grasping a solitary blade of grass and snapping it off. She just stared at it a bit longer, twirling it between her fingers, then letting it fall to the ground. There was something... strangely calming about it. It was reassurance that... living things were fragile. From the lowliest blade of grass to the mightiest monarch, every living thing is mortal. Every living thing one day dies.
But she heard Ninian's voice. She couldn't ignore reality taking pleasure in killing blades of grass any longer.
She shook. Tears began falling from her cheeks.
"I... I saw Death with my own eyes. That hawk... he... I faced him. And he forced us away like we were nothing. He would have killed us as easily as... these blades of grass..."
The tears fell faster, then turned to sobs as the girl buried her face in her hands.

Arashe looked around at the people, as drowsy as before, with no signs of them getting out and about. The news of people being 'corrupted' would probably get them a bit more alert. And they wonder why they got attacked. They're sitting around like blasted sloths!
Startled, Arashe returned to the conversation, silently scolding himself for drifting off, and even worse, forgetting to give his name. "Ah, I'm sorry, Miss. My name is Arashe Nyilas, and I've just recently wound up in this house. But, about this 'corruption'..." He looked off at the front door, that elegant woman from the night before rushing outside. "What, you don't know how it happened, how to fix it?"

"I... I saw Death with my own eyes," the girl said, her voice hollow.
The moment she started to cry, Ninian pulled her into a hug.
"It's alright," she whispered soothingly. "You're safe now. King Tibarn isn't here. No one's going to hurt you." She continued to try and calm the girl down. When her sobs abated for the most part, she helped the girl to stand.
"Come on, let's go inside," she said gently. "I'll make you some breakfast; that will help you." Quietly, she helped the Pegasus Knight inside, letting her sit in a chair at the kitchen table while the dancer made eggs and toast for the poor girl.
First Rei . . . then Nils . . . and now King Tibarn, Ninian thought as she cooked. I hope there's still a little more time before he comes, if he is indeed coming here.

Alihi shook her head. "No, we know what happened, and now we have a weapon to fix it..." She put Amara down on her feet and watched her run off to explore the manor. "We just didn't get the knowledge or the tool until recently. And now, we are anxious to act... but I guess some of us were more tired than we realized." She sighed lightly, tucking some hair behind her ear. "Though pretty soon I'm going to start knocking on doors to get people up... I mean, they were the ones who wanted to go, and now they're sleeping in?" She chuckled softly, but then stopped. "... I'm just kind of tired of sitting around, you know? But I was the one who said that we needed to stick together..."
And, once again, her mind drifted, if only just for a moment.
(( -too lazy to get on Alihi's account at the moment- xD ))

The pegasus knight listened to Ninian's words. It was true. Ghis had said that if ever Eyris should fall, they should flee here. The people here were strong, and often contained moral fiber in abundance. But... breakfast definitely sounded nicer. Being hungry and tired and in a pitched battle wore down the mind. Besides, it might be nice to leave Titania here for a little while. She got the feeling her pegasus was struggling through similar emotions and just wanted time to cool off, to process what happened.
She took a deep breath. She was still frightened about her earlier actions, but... she did what she did to make sure nobody else was killed. The experience was scary, yes, and she wasn't sure she'd want to do that again... but it was over now. Nothing would change. Nodding and drying her eyes on her sleeve, she stood up. "Th-thank you. I appreciate your kindness," she said at last as she sat down.

"It's no trouble at all," Ninian assured the girl, setting a plate in front of her and handing her a fork. "I was just making breakfast for myself as well, and for anyone else who was hungry."
Best guess, this girl had been involved in a large scale battle, most likely at Castle Eyris, as that was where King Tibarn had been previously. If she'd been this traumatized, then things were not looking good for anyone.
(fail post fails OTL! But Pegasus Knight is safe now. 3nodding )

Amara, upon being set down, immediately bolted off to explore the manor, which she wanted to do last night (er, earlier this morning?) but was stopped by Ganon. The young girl moved rather quickly, peeking around random corners with a child-like curiosity.
Her eyes fell upon a girl with long, beautiful light blue hair and a pretty dress, and she couldn't help but stare. She's like a princess! Amara thought to herself happily with a smile as she kept staring at Ninian, head sticking out from around the corner.
(( Pfft lame post is lame but OH WELL NINIAN IS NOW A PRINCESS IN AMARA'S MIND 8D ))

The girl took up a piece of toast and took a bite off the corner, chewing it. The taste of food in her mouth reassured her that yes, she was still alive. She swallowed it, feeling safer, calmer.
"...This is nice," she said, taking another bite. "I feel a little better. I don't know if anybody else in my unit is awake, though. We're all exhausted after we fled Eyris. The soldiers... suddenly changed. That Hawk King--he did, too. It wasn't so much a battle as everyone changing. I think we got a lot of people out, but... it's all so sudden."

Nometal looked up. "This may work...one us us each taking some soldiers, that way we all can wear down some of the changed people...and we could easily have an attack of opportunity if we time the strike well."
