((It's unavoidable... and part of the plot.))
In a few minutes--say, two--the wave would be visible. But by that time, it would--no. It was already too late. The mammoth wave would be confined to the perimeter of the river shore, rising nearly a mile tall but never going past the banks. It would engulf the bridge and purge it clean of the travelers, sending them off to who-knew-where if not death. The massive wave would stretch the entire width of the river, no more and no less, and as tall as said before. And yet the boundaries of the river would still not be crossed by so much as a drop of water.
Regond could, if he hurried, possibly fly above the torrent's height, but this was not likely. In any case, desolate and ashamed as he was, the old coot of an owl would rather stay and suffer Shef's fate, whatever that may be. The alternative was to live in shame when both father and son's lives had slipped through his fingers... er, talons... er, grasp.

((The forces of nature, on Earth, are almighty, are they not? What would Floreta, with wings and the power over wind, be able to do? She cannot alter this wave. She can get above it, maybe, but not with everyone. This wave is going to take a few certain people to a few certain places they need to be.))

Sometimes, when I'm sitting in my bedroom...
All ALONE... in the DARK...
I sometimes look up at the stars and wish I was them.
All ALONE... but in plain SIGHT...
But then I think of something...
.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.((I was thinking more like Floreta making a tornado above the wave to make the water circle above long enough to let everyone get to the other side, but meh. You're one of the Gods here.)) .x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.
It's really strange, I think...
When they're up there...
They're all ALONE. In the DARK. But everyone can SEE them...
It's strange when I look up at them...
Because they kinda remind me of YOU.

[[ Well, I'm pretty screwed, so I'll try to salvage my characters life. D; ]]
Odemunk looked off into the distance. Naturally the wave was not visible- but he knew it loomed. "Kiki-"
-
Kiki only nodded. She had been listening in the whole time. She took a few moments to look around the party, and she jumped from her perch on the rope. Her guardian transformed into a small orange monkey, and jumped onto her shoulder- and into her little knapsack until only his upper body stuck out. He pulled out a pair of Earthen binoculars.
Kiki seized this oppurtunity to start to sprint- and even though she lacked the upper body strength normally, so it would seem, the adrenaline rush provided by fear allowed her to attempt to sling Shef over her back, and Queenie too, if her pride didn't get in the way. Of course, she may have been wrong, and she may have just grabbed for them, but nevertheless Kiki started to lightly pass along the bridge, at least so they could be as near to shore as possible before they drowned.
She kept going. Besides, if they refused, better they die than her.

((Hah.))
Despite her efforts, neither Kiki nor Odemunk could get anywhere near the end of the bridge, which was miles long, in two minutes. Or less.
When the wave struck, there was nothing. No sound, no feeling--no sensation. There was just... nothingness. In fact, the force of the wave rendered all humans unconscious. Through some freak of nature and magic, which was not necessarily natural but most definitely magical.
. . .
Eventually, they would awake. And Alhiria, along with the wounded, would be in Reimli by themselves. Hopefully Harlin's medicine was self-explanatory.
Shef awoke on land. It could not be said where he was, because that was not known. Floreta and Kiki were both beside him, unconscious. The youth jumped up and attempted to shake them awake. He couldn't imagine that they could be... dead.
It was only after making sure that both were alive that Shef glanced up and around, to see where he was.
It was sandy. Very sandy, and very warm. They were at the water's edge, but this was not the Nanne, and neither was it Reimli or the Sylstern. It seemed to be a... desert, of sorts. But in the distance could be seen a stand of trees--some sort of palm, perhaps, though it was likely a species of vegetation indigenous not to Earth. There was no sun overhead, and yet the heat was strong. Beside the lone stand of trees, there was nothing else visible on the horizon.
Thankfully, no one seemed to be injured. Such an outcome was of so small a chance that it could not be. These three humans were where they were, and alive, for a reason. What reason that could be, was yet to be realized.
((What about Marina? Is she here? The Guardians are not. I'll post about them later.))

((So none of the Guardians are there?)) Narissa had quickly swum underneath the giant wave, having no time to help save any of the humans or their Guardians.
Harlin was lying unconscious several yards from Floreta, his hand still halfway in the water of the river, which had risen several feet up the banks as the newly melted water made its way to the Amanth.

.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.((Seems not.)) Floreta - having flown above the river at the last instant - was shocked to wake up next to Shef and Kiki; she could've sworn she had gotten out of the way of the water. Apparently not so. Oh, Alhiria's probably going crazy right now.She saw Harlin by the water's edge, the water coming dangerously close to his face. If he was still unconscious and the water went into his nose, he would surely drown. "Ah!" Leaping up and stumbling slightly in the sand, Floreta rushed to Harlin, kneeling down beside him and taking hold of his shoulder. "Master Harlin!" With difficulty, she managed to pull him away from the water's edge, blushing the entire time. More concerned about him than about her embarrassment, however, she kneeled next to him again, leaning over to survey his face worriedly. "Master Harlin!" She pressed his shoulder softly, gently shaking him. "Master Harlin! Please wake up!" "UGH." Marina, now back into her human form with cat ears and tail, slowly got up from where she lay separate from the group, rubbing her head. Then she blinked, and leaped up. "QUEENIE!" She whirled around in a circle, her tail lashing frantically. "QUEENIE! QUEENIE, WHERE ARE YOU?! QUEENIE!" .x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.

Harlin moaned faintly when Floreta dragged him away from the water's edge, then coughed up water and rolled onto his side.
Damascus was nowhere to be found, possibly looking around the area or... otherwise.((Before you introduce Hans, I'm going to PM you.))

Ah yes, the Guardians. Regond, Odemunk, and Dasmascus found themselves farther down the shore from the bridge, but the epic structure was still in sight. The Guardians were across the river and on the shores of the Reimli, the vast plains and giant sequoias visible even from their position. Narissa was, well, wherever she wanted to be. The water couldn't stop such a beast, nor inhibit it in any way. Though the chances of Narissa staying near the Guarded was small, it was still a chance. It was still, if remotely, possible.
~
Shelf was standing up now. Floreta was up, and that left Kiki. Shef gulped as he stared down, watching her unconscious form, and contemplated... CPR. Dare he try it? On one hand, if he didn't, Kiki might die. On the other hand, if he did, he might die. Decisions, decisions... as Shef contemplated this crucial possible attempt at saving life (at which he was untrained), he did not notice the slow, soft-footed figure coming up behind him.
((As far as I can tell, only Narissa could be with the humans. But she can't come onto the island they're on. They don't know it's an island, either, but... she'd have to be content to wait in the water surrounding the island. No Guardians can be on it, whether actually standing or flying above it.))

[[ NO!?! what will she do when she wants a snack? Compromise? ]]
Kiki lay unconsious on her back. One would think that this might have hurt the little fellow in her backpack, but he slipped out when she tried to grip the bridge, along with a few of the contents of her backpack.
Odemunk washed ashore with the other Guardians, full size and still gripping the binoculars in his hand. He was worried, too worried to drown. He looked at the other animals from the shore, and sighed.
Kiki- wasn't doing much. She lay there in the sand, eyes closed. One of her hands was raised, almost as if she was searching through her backpack for Kal before he slipped away. Another lay softly on her exposed stomach. She was quiet.
