Teagan sat in the kitchen, munching on some dry toast and flipping through a magazine. She yawned slightly, taking a sip of her juice.

"What a night." She muttered, swallowing the last bit of her toast. She sighed, getting annoyed that she still hadn't found a new hair cut, so a pony tail had to suffice. She stood up, dropping her cup in the trash before walking outside. She had seen Rachael run past and figured she'd go see what was going on.

"What've we got here? New students?" She said, stretching as she walked up besides Rachael.

User Imageavier's gates swung out suddenly, taking Kai by suprise. The girl waiting to be answered stood expectantly not far from her, not acknowledging her presence. Perhaps it was better that way, some mutants were known to be extremely xenophobic and intolerant of strangers. Kai casually leaned against one of the gate-posts just a few meters from the driveway and watched the scene out of her peripheral vision, not wanting to seem too interested.

A young woman with reddish hair approached from beyond the opening gates to greet the visitor. Kai watched in interest. Was this a new student going to stay at the mansion? So that means she's a mutant, right? Wonder what kind of gifts she has... Kai's mind adopted an inquisitive approach. Having decided to give school a miss today, her day had become pretty open-ended. It was hard to tell at just a glance what kind of mutants they might be... The unknowns and x-factors of the students of Xavier's Institute was fuel for Kai's rampant trains of thought. None of her questions were answered yet, however, and those trains of thought were all derailing, or never leaving the station.

Watching out the corner of her eye, she listened in for any conversation.

Rachael now noticed the second girl as she walked up. Pushing her glasses up. "Hello!" She said cheerfully before looking at Teagan. "Heya Teagan, yup it looks to be." Still smilling she motioned them to follow. "My name is Rachael and this is Teagan..." She said introducing them.

"Now this could prove interesting," Jacen said to himself as Penance brushed right by him, Sonya hot on her heels. Was a fight going to ensue? He wasn't sure, but he could only speculate. As much as he wanted to head back upstairs, something was gnawing at him. Telling him to watch this little match. "It'll kill time...that's for sure."

Without a second thought, he turned hard on his heel, and walked towards the Danger Room's control area. To his surprise when he got there, there were at least two others sitting back watching the fight in the Danger Room itself. Jamie, the kid he just skipped out on, Markus. So, doing what he did best, Jacen stood upstairs quietly behind the group and readily watched the fight.

He watched as the two young ladies matched hit for hit, but he noticed something. Sonya had the edge. For as quick as Penance was, Sonya was that much quicker. Maybe the year away from any training dull the reflexes, or maybe someone just didn't have their heart in the fight. And so, with a scowl on his face, Jacen watched the fight from afar, not sure what to make of the feeling he had boiling in his gut.

OOC: .............Need I remind everyone that we have an OOC thread for all those annoying little OOC's? That being said, this will be the last one here.

Sonya was ready for this fight. Still, she could feel that Penny wasn't her same self. So she couldn't help but back off a little. She knew that Penny needed her for a warm-up, to get back in things. So I must play teacher a little, she thought. When Penny kicked, sonya fell down. But she kick Penny's hand, and jumped back up. "Let me warn you, I have practiced in ever simulation," said Sonya. And she motioned Penny to come for her. Sonya raised her sword and strike hard in the sand, sending sand in her eyes. She knew Penny senses weren't as trained, so here was a perfect opportunity for her to use them. Sonya then ran at Penny.

Sasha watched little Ana, lying on her stomach on the ground. She was trying to pick herself up but still couldn't. Sasha smiled and fell asleep. Ana looked around. The door to the room was opened a little. The baby tried to pick herself up and amazingly began to her first step in crawling. But fell back down. She got back up, crawled a couple more steps and fell back down. Ana managed to crawl out of the room, leaving Sasha sleeping.

ooc: if anyone want to play with ana that's fine, but don't have her taken back to Sasha or Pietro yet.

Markus watched for a few minutes before deciding that he needed a drink. "Good luck Sonya." He said walking out of the danger room he went to the elevator and up to the kitchen. After getting his water he figured that now was as good a time as any to do a bit of shopping. Besides he had to drop off his suit to be cleaned. Walking up stairs he noticed a tiny head peeking down the stairs at him. "Huh?" She leaned farther over and started falling forward down the stairs. eek "NO!!!" He streached both arms up the rest of the stairs and caught Ana before she took a spill down them. "Well now....what are you doing about..." He asked pulling her back to him.

"Ok, let's get you back to your mother before she has six fits to the wind..." He settled little Ana on his shoulder and started up the stairs. Ana began to reach down the stairs babbling at him. "No...we're taking you to your mother." He said before looking at her. She was staring at him with those large maroon eyes...and giving him the pouty lower lip. "Aaaawwwww....come on thats not fair..." He said weakening. "Ooohh.....ok....I suppose I can take you in the yard for a little bit..." She giggled happily as he started down the stairs.

"It's impossible to train for every situation," Penance grinned and just felt wrong in a way. Was it as clear to everybody else that the Penance didn't have the same life to her that she had in the past? She's talked the talk. She wasn't walking the walk. And she already read it in Sonya. She was doing exactly what Penance had done with the other students.

"Don't hold back, Sonya," Penance said and they clashed again in another hold of wills. Metal on metal they pushed towards each other to see who would break first, "I can read it on you. I know what it looks like."

That was the problem. The overall problem. There was that seed of doubt in Penance's head that stemmed from Jade. In every situation, Penance had no doubts about herself and her abilities... and she came out on top or close enough to it to survive. That was not today.

And Sonya didn't hold back. She put everything into it and Penance knew as much as she held on Sonya had more to give. The doubt was there. Sweat poured down both of their heads as they attacked and counter attacked. It came to a point when Sonya caught Penance in a backstep and Penance hadn't read Sonya's movement fast enough. She would have never missed it before. Before she could compensate, Penance's blade was out of her hand and was unreachable.

Sonya's blade was in a point at her throat.

"I guess that's checkmate," Penance said with no emotion for the moment, "Good job, you've beaten the teacher."

Not saying anything to anybody else or making any eye contact, Penance left and went to her room. In a fit of frustration she picked her own blade up and drilled it square into her wall. The precision of it was that drilled itself directly through one of her old team pictures. She was no the same. She doubted herself.

OOC: Hope you don't mind me finishing this Taiya. I didn't know if you'd be around on the weekend and wanted to write some other things.

Cathy snickered to herself and clapped. "Bravo Sonya..real slick..." She had recovered from her trip to the infirmery and was now feeling like her old self. She frowned slightly at Penny's expression. Getting up she walked after her. She walked to her room and knocked. Something was not sitting well with Penny and Cathy could read people very well.

{I'm going to have Morgan rescue Kidd, okies?}

Am I the only one who pays attention? Am I the only one who noticed that we were short one person? Morgan thought, as he tailed after Kidd. The trail of icy footprints was pretty much a dead giveaway for her, and he followed the trail into the shadows of an alley. There was a rather large group of punks surrounding her, though two of them seemed to be the worse for wear. One of them was on the ground, clutching at his sensitive area, and another one was frozen solid. Unfotunately, Kidd didn't seem to have any realy combat training, and she was still outnumbered. Until now.

"Leave her alone," he said, stepping out of the shadow of the buildings. One of them turned around, pulling the ice darts out of his arm. They had only done superficial damage, as he was wearing a thick leather jacket. "Hey, looks like some chump wants to play. You'll have to wait your turn," the young man said, grinning maliciously as he tossed his weapon from hand to hand.

"Let me re-phrase that. Leave her alone, or I kill you. It's your choice," Morgan replied, cracking his neck from side to side. "I said to wait your turn!" the punk replied, tossing his knife at Morgan. With a motion too quick to be seen, Morgan's hand shot out, and grabbed the knife out of the air.

"Fool."

With nary a sound, Morgan was upon the male, knocking him to the ground with a straight jab to the solar plexus. Clutching at his chest in pain, the punk stumbled back to his feet, and swung a fist at Morgan, while the other punks seemed to forget about Kidd, and took a stance around Morgan. "We'll deal with you later, girly. Don't go anywhere," one of them said, sending a malicious grin at Kidd.

Catching the punch in his hand, Morgan twisted the guys wrist until a sickening snap rung out. The wrist had been cleanly broken, and the punk's hand hung limp. "Aaahh!! You son of a b***h! I'll kill you for that! Guy's give me a hand! Let's teach this chump a lesson!" the punk cried, ordering the others to advance upon Morgan. "So, you wish for a severe beating? Let me oblige you!" Morgan said, as one of the punks swung a chain at him. Morgan ducked under the attack, and sent the man flying with a series of kicks to the head and chest. The punk crumpled as he hit the wall.

"b*****d!!" another one cried, as he attempted to grab Morgan from behind. He almost managed to get his arms around him, before the back of Morgan's hand impacted with his foe's face, his elbow to the punk's stomach, and then tossing him over his shoulder into the guy in front of him. The two of them collapsed in a heap on the ground. Morgan assumed a defensive posture, as he glared at the remaining two punks. "Who's next?" Morgan said. The two males looked at Morgan, at their fallen comrades, at their frozen cohort, and then back at Morgan. The looked at each other, and then ran screaming from the alleyway. Of course, on their way out, Morgan caught both of them in a clothesline manouver, knocking them to the ground, unconcious.

"Are you alright?"" he said, walking towards Kidd.

{And that's my post for today!}

"What?" Penance said not exactly in the most welcoming voice. She was pissed off and resentful. Not at Sonya. It wasn't Sonya's fault. Penance had been trying to proove to herself that she was something she clearly wasn't anymore. She was resentful at herself. She was resentful at Jade, at King Pin. Why the hell did Scott want HER to train these kids? She clearly wasn't herself.

Unpreturbed at the less than welcome tone Cathy let herself in. "What's on your mind...spread your troubles around." Cathy said looking at her before closing the door. "Don't bother to tell me that there isn't anything wrong either." She said calmly. "Contrary to popular belief I'm very observant...and something is really bothering you." She said leaning on the door taking note of the swords location on the wall.

Regina began her day tracking Logan. She had been assigned as his secretary and she was going to go by her job. Well, if she expected to be paid. Clothing wasn't something she ever thought much about so she was in her typical jeans and a shirt, tailing her chargin as she thought. He was obviously getting annoyed but hey, it was her job now. In a way.

Gen finally got some sleep after Tetsuo had begun getting answers from Hank. She wasn't sure what was going on but she figured that McCoy could give a good idea to Tetsuo. She awoke feeling nervous and wondering just what class assignments had been given out.

The dull thud of footsteps sound as Kris silently leaves the control room. "....." He'd recognized one of the women who were fightinmg, but she seemed different. Oh well, it isn't his concern. Right now, his only problem was fighting a giant muntat hating robot, experience he could use in real life. Ignoring the bitting irony of that throught, he mentally prepares himself.
Once his mind is ready, he focuses on the body. Gel forms on his lower arms, hands, legs and feet. Opening and closing his hands, he removes his overcoat, resting his left wrist on his left shoulder as gel pools from his hand, forming a sword.
The blade is seven feet long, one and three fourths feet wide, and five inches thick. The blade is eight inches in from the each side, making it more of a slab than a sword. The blade thins slightly in both with and thickness as it reaches the tip, becoming one and a half feet long with a ninety-degree point. The non-blade part is pure black, while the blade is a deep shade of grey, and holds it by the 1.5 feet long and 3-inch wide handle, wrapped in a deep grey cloth with the two ends hanging on either side of the handle. The blade is connected to the handle thought extensions from the grip into a |_| shape, seen as a half-circle on the sides along the non-blade part, allowing the blade to be exposed for the full length, with the base of the blade resting in the valley of the u, it is then held with two large pins from the bottom, on either side of the handle. At the end of the handle, opposite the blade, there is a small square counterweight. (so sue me, I needed a filler.)
As he enters the prep room, he passes Penance on her way out without a word. (Sue me again, I want to be involved in the plot.....please file a class action suit, it will be easier for all.)
Entering the danger room, he speaks clearly, and athoritatively. "Run program: Setniel trainer." As the mechanical mostrosity appears from the pixelated graphics of a ridiculously expensive software program, he smiles. This isn't anything to worry about.
"EXTERMINATE," the sentinel articluately states as it advances, rasing it's right hand and firing a plam blast. Grabbing the sword, thumb facing the counterweight, the flat side of the blade facing the blast, he blocks.
Well, that had been the idea, the force of the blast is a bit more then he expected, he notes as he skids backwards. Stopping, he advances, gel spikes, one in heac heel coming down from his gel boots into the dnager room floor. Now the blasts didn't push him back. He knew he could probably dodge or out manuver the blasts, but a challenge was more fun.
However, after gaining a few feet and after multiple "EXTERMINATE!"'s, he changes tactics. Retracting the spikes, he waits for the next blast. When it comes, instead of fully blocking it, he blocks with the left side, tunring to the right, letting the force of the blast move him, then charges.
The sentinel, who aferward would always refere to it's kind as 'idiotic Mr. Coffee's,' also changes tactics, bringing it's extended right hand down to squash him. THis would prove to be a really, really bad move.
Seeing the new tactic, Kris moves to the left, changing his grip, his left hand holding the handle close to the blade, his right at the bottom. When the hand comes down, he attacks, bringing the sword above his head and swinging down on the now in range wrist, severing it from the rest of the arm.
The sentinel, responding at the speed that only a windows XP programed machine can, tries to bring it's right foot down ina stomp, but Kris has already moved. Running up to the left leg, his blade lengthening, he swongs, severing the lower part of the lower leg and foot from the rest of the machine. As it falles, he turns watching it fall to its knees the same way a logger watches a tree fall. (really bad analogy.)
Moving to the right leg, he brings the massive blade down on the right knee. Now in it's back, the sentinel shouts another moronic remark as Kris moves around it's right side, removing the rest of its right arm. As he stnads beside it's head, sword raised above him, the sentinel's head swivels, facing him. "EXTERMONATE!"It shouts. "..Screw you too," Kris replies wittily, brinig his sword down, severing its head. Sighing, he de-armors as the holograph fades. Playing with an enemy was never very nice. Holding up the sword, the blade exends unto it's twelve feet long. "....." If he'd doen that, it would have been over in two or three swings. As the sword receeds, he grabs his overcoat as he leaves the danger room for a snack.
