I laughed again and moved my stool closer so we could be as close as possible. "Believe me, when you've been around as long as I have, you begin to take many things lightly, because there's always something worse you can remember." My expression became thoughtful, and I turned to face away from Teddy and drained my glass. I was going to be wasted, and that's an incredible accomplishment for a bloodsucker.

"I guess you've got a point." Teddy was feeling a lot better with food and drink in his belly. He was still a bit tired, but he hadn't been getting nearly as much sleep as he was used to the past couple of days. That on top of bleeding twice in that time was bound to take its toll. He still grinned like a little maniac. He was happy. He was happy and not even worried about anything; it almost seemed like that was inviting trouble. But he just couldn't help it.

I nodded, and ordered a cosmopolitan this time. Surely the three different tastes wouldnt' be so pleasant, but my taste buds were aching for so many different flavors at the same time. It was as if I hadn't drunk anything alcoholic in such a long time, I wanted a little bit of everything. "So," I said. "Tell me your favorites." No doubt this would be tedious, but I wanted to know everything about Teddy there was to know.

"My favorite what? Just... everything? Um, I don't know. My favorite color is blue. Um... I like pizza. And. Doesn't that taste weird, having three different drinks like that?" Teddy did not really know what to say about himself. He felt kind of like a kid, listing his favorite stuff. And he didn't really have many favorites to start with.

"Yes, everything," I said. When he stop and questioned my drinks, I laughed and nodded. "Of course," I said, sipping at the pink drink. "But I just can't seem to help myself tonight." Why was I drinking so much? Maybe it was the memory of Philip... I didn't know, and I didn't want to think about it. I set the glass down on the counter and pushed it away. I never said no to a drink - especially not a cosmopolitan - but there it stood, looking as dejected as a half-empty martini glass can.
((That last was a little homage to Sasha's first post razz ))

"Well, I can't really think of much. Why don't you tell me your favorite somethings?" Teddy looked at the dejected glass. It kind of reminded him of an almost perfect loaf of bread he'd seen once. Almost perfect with only the smallest flaw... where the heck had that thought come from?
((Couldn't help it.))

((Hahahaha. When I first posted that, I forget what RP I was in xd Then I didn't bother to change it, 'cause I realized you'd know what I was talking about... sort of...))
"Well," I said. "I've developed a taste for most music, but I prefer any sort of rock music. Any. I enjoy horror movies - go figure - but I also like romantic comedies. Even the corny ones. The best place I've ever visited has to be a small island out in the Atlantic. I went out there one night - it's an uninhabited little piece of land with a forest and, of course, beach - and it was so beautiful." I smiled. "Maybe I'll be able to take you there one day." I resumed. I almost felt sort of selfish, talking about myself so much. "My favorite food used to be any sort of seafood." I paused and brought one hand up to brush Teddy's face. "But now it's you." To any other, the words may have sounded creepy, scary. But I was hoping it wouldn't to him...

((Still need to catch up, but I must say that I picked up a graphic novel adaptation of Guilty Pleasures and leafed through it. So I now know about Philip and have a pretty good idea of what the characters look like.))

Teddy's heart fluttered and he very predictably blushed when Markus named him as favorite food. "Oh, man. You're so doing that on purpose. Getting all the blood in my head so all you have to do is poke a straw in my ear." He makes a straw jabbing motion with his hand and laughs, obviously not serious. "You're not going to believe this, but I like country music, folk, blues... that kind of stuff. Nothing with a lot of twang, but still. Horror movies are okay, but I can't sleep right after. I think I like almost any comedy as long as it's actually funny and not just stupid. I've never been on any island before; sounds like it would be a blast."

((Crap, I forgot Philip was an actual character in the book!!!! xd Wow, and I call myself an Anita Blake fan... Gah, Kittengrl, I envy you!! I want the graphic novel!!))
I laughed at his joke - perhaps a little too hard; I hadn't had that much to drink - and rested my head on his shoulder. "When do you have to be home?" I asked almost mournfully. The question sounded very odd coming from my lips, like I was a teenager asking when his date's curfew was.
((Short post...))

"Um. Nobody knows I'm out, so... I'm kind of screwed no matter when I get there." Teddy admitted sheepishly. He'd slipped out thinking he wouldn't come here, he'd just drive around and go home. How had he managed to convince himself of such a crock of bull? He'd driven himself almost straight to the District and now here he was fighting the temptation to tell Markus he'd just go home tomorrow morning.

I sighed, almost sorrowfully. But Teddy's loyalties must first go to his parents, no matter how conservative and shitty they were. "Teddy," I said softly, looking him in the eye. I didn't try to put any power behind my gaze or anything. "You should probably go home for the night. If you return any later, you'll go straight into the fire. Go back now, and you'll only have to deal with the frying pan. No matter how hot it may be." I half-smiled and pulled out my wallet, setting the money down on the bar.

Akira walked off with Kit towards the strip club. She smiled excited about getting a job. She looked over at Kit with a smile. "So whats your sexual orientation?" She asked pleasently.

Teddy looked at Markus for a long moment, chewing his lip and considering. Then his gaze drops to the table. Was Markus right? Would it really make a difference if he scurried home now rather than later? He didn't see how it would, but not wanting to go made him biased. Teddy shook his head and made a frustrated sound. "I can't keep doing this. This is stupid. I shouldn't even be there if I keep having to worry they're going to blow their tops about where I've been or how long I was out!" He hadn't meant to get angry, but he was. It was frustrating having to calculate other people into every decision he made for himself.

"Calm down," I said soothingly, placing a hand on his shoulder. Our faces were almost touching now. "I'll be here tomorrow night." I punctuated it with a kiss, as I did with every other reassuring "And the next night... and the next night..." Until my mouth was locked on his for moments on end.
