roran walked through the camp. He had nothing better to do anyways. Eyeing Tuin, he sent out his thoughts. How is Eve? He got no answer though as the beast ignored him. Shrugging, he walked on.

"Staying here makes us vulnerable." She was talking to herself, looking at a map in her tent. "If we move back to here, we'd not only have mountain cover, but being in a valley makes us able to line archers on the two sides. then, if attacked, we have our main force fighting here, and arrow volleys raining down on them. It'd be perfect, except we'd need guards with our archers, one foot soldier per archer, and that's not good. We'd have too little men in the valley, and too many up here." She scratched her head in thought. "Or, we could have a small band of men in the valley and the rest of us on the two sides. To get to us they'd have to go through the valley, allowing us to volley them until they're through. By then they'd have lost enough men that we could defeat them easily with our soldiers. Genious, Nacelyne, genious!"

"You never know when an empathy potion will be helpful. Hell, half the time I'd like to calm roran down. He's too up tight. It gets annoying at times." kantern scratched his head, shaking it at the same time. "Necromancy is very dangerous. You should be very careful, you could lose your life as well. Can't have that now, can we?" He winked, using the line on purpose.

(( Oi.... have fun in the other Rp Blaze. >< ))

Leena laughed, oh she could understand that completely, "I almost did, but I know he won't change. Thats just how he is and I shouldn't try to force him to do something out of character." She murmured, noticing how he seemed a bit more serious, lowering her eyes. She sighed, managing a small smile at his wink, shaking her head when he used her line. "I know. Oh I am, have no fear of that. Well, it's not like my kingdom would care. My advisors would welcome it so that they could find a pure blooded Merethian to be their King or Queen instead of a half-breed like me. At least, thats what they call me. Ah well, they'll just have to deal with me." She sighed, adjusting her robes a little so that her scars weren't visible, stretching out on her cloak, her hands resting on her cloak behind her, leaning against them as she brought one knee up. "I'm always careful, don't worry." She murmured once more, staring up at the sky.

"Eve is dead, the plot taken out on Selena's life almost succeeded, once Altarion dragged her away without anyone noticing, but Eve stopped Selena and got herself killed. Selena is still unconscious." Tuin replied to Roran before he found the general he was looking for. "The elven army has been given permission to reside in Aras until Selena has healed enough to leave the realm of the Faerie." The beast told Lyn, looking around somewhat impatiently. He had been sent back to lead the army there, since the knowledge of Aras' exact location was a mystery to most people, and Tuin was one of the few who knew how to actually get there.

Cori nodded, pulling away gently. "Probably should go talk to them..." she murmured, not sadly but not looking up to him. She paused as she reached the door, looking back to him. "And for the record, most elves don't measure time like everyone else since we can live so long. Ten, twenty years isn't all that much." she said, the faintest of smiles flickering across her lips before she went to find the house where her bow was still, grabbing it and her quiver before going to the Rangers. She hesitated as she saw Tuin, hoping he's hear her.

"Tuin, is she alright?" she thought, looking to him and pausing to look to him.

((Should I just give Aki something to do, or...))

((Sorry, forgot.))

"She's still hurt pretty badly. I'm sorry to say that Eve was killed in the attack. Selena will not be able to leave Aras for three weeks. The faerie said that because of her curse, they are unable to heal her with any magic." Tuin said to Cori, shaking his head sadly.

"I don't care what you do. Go run your own goddamn country for once and leave me a moment to think." He growled, waving Aki off, though he left the room first.

Vadász just lowered his eyes and nodded, letting her slip free of his arms. He noted her not looking up to him, cursing himself for having to say something, even if they should talk about it. He raised his eyes to her when she stopped in the doorway, a brief smile passing over his features as he walked outside as well, promptly getting tackled by a blur that sent him sprawling into the snow. "God dammit Priya do you mind?!" He snapped, looking to his sister whom was resting on his chest.

"It's so cute that you still think in human years. And no, I don't mind." Priya grinned up to her brother, helping him up as she always did after glomping him. "Lighten up brother, you two will be fine-"

He was not in the mood for this. "Priya," He cut her off, grabbing her by the shoulders a little rougher than he originally intended, looking her in the eye. "For once, can you please stay out of my business? I know you are trying to help, but you aren't. Not with this." He then let her go and walked past her after Cori, brushing the snow from his clothes as he did. He spotted her quickly, folding his arms as he just tilted his head, guessing that they were speaking telepathically. He sensed that Leena was back, but he could ask her later to fix his charm for him.

She blinked as he grabbed her, lowering her eyes after he was already gone, that faint smile remaining upon her lips. Alright... I'll leave you be. She walked up to one building, leaning against it with a sigh, holding herself as she watched everyone. It made her giggle a little to see the Queen and Kantern together. Roran looked like he was brooding again, everything seemed normal. Except her brother. She just shook her head, brushing her hair back as she crouched down in the snow, starting to fashion a mini snowman.

"If my mother would let me I would." Aki muttered, wishing yet again her mother would die. But, she hadn't been able to kill her yet. She'd tried, enough that she'd lost count of the number of attempts. Nothing worked though, no matter what she did. The Queen always just healed or seemed to be immune to the poison, or her neck didn't break or she didn't burn. Nothing worked, and Aki hadn't found any magic of any sort.

Cori froze, nodding after a moment. "Thank you..." she heard herself murmur, eyes sad. She shook her head, taking a shaky breath and making herself push it from her mind and keep going. She didn't notice Vadász, she wouldn't notice much for a while. Not while she was focusing on whatever she happened to be doing, even if it was simply walking across the snow and breathing. She wouldn't let herself mourn yet, she needed to be able to function. When she could hide from the world she'd accept it, allow herself to let it fully sink in. Upon reaching the Rangers they sent her away within five minutes. There wasn't nearly as much as she'd thought. She made her way to where the apprentices had set up a few targets, their masters not about to let them not practice. She strung her bow, loosing herself in her shooting and focusing only on that, perfecting the shots. If she stopped she'd think of Eve, and collapse into tears. And she refused to let anyone see her cry, much less sob. She just wouldn't, couldn't let them see.

She drew her last arrow, simply holding it back at full draw. "Don't waver, don't let them see a thing." she murmured, staring down the arrow. She didn't release it until her arm started quivering, not used to the strain of holding the string back for over a minute or two. With a sigh she slowly made her way to the target, starting to slide every arrow free. Rythmic, repetative. Something to focus on, what she needed. She kept herself oblivious to the world, to busy not thinking.

Vadász lost whatever smile he had tried to put on his face the minute that he felt Cori's emotions, it felt like a smack to the face almost. He felt his heart grow heavy, he knew what knews had been told, he could at least guess. He walked after her silently, watching her, not knowing what he could do for her. There was one thing. He started pulling the negative emotions from her, knowing that it would leave her barely feeling anything, but it had helped him when he was mourning. He took on her emotions himself, he knew he could take it. Then he took what positive emotions he held left and gave them to her, a calmness hopefully settling into her system. He was trying to have her remember the good and not the bad. He didn't try to hold her since he didn't want to disrupt her, knowing that shooting the targets was sort of helping her.

Cori paused as a hand rested on an arrow, something was wrong. She wasn't miserable, there wasn't anything she was pushing back and hiding from. She saw him from the corner of her eye and smiled faintly, finishing what she was doing then going to him. She wordlessly slipped her arms around his neck, kissing him gently. "Thank you." she murmured with a small smile, pulling away gently. "Don't make yourself miserable for me, but thank you." she said softly, more thankful than he could imagine as she slipped her bow from her shoulder and started shooting again, loosing herself in it again as she started going faster, pushing herself to go as quickly as she could while still clustering the arrows within or near the bullseye circle.

Vadász noticed the smile, relaxing a little as he fought with the pain and grief that she had held. Yes, he could deal with this. Tilting his head a little, he relaxed a little, kissing her back, his hands running along her sides gently in a comforting manner. "You're welcome. I can take it, don't worry. Anything for you my dear." He said quietly, folding his arms in front of his chest as he continued to watch her, his eyes soft, though his own fight with her pain was hidden there. He wouldn't show her that though, he didn't want her worrying.

After emptying her quiver three more times she finally went to him again, arms aching from holding the string back as long as she could every time, something she'd gotten in the habit doing. "I'll meet you at the house, there's something I need to do first. But, let me have it. All of the... everything. Please, don't worry about me and go have Leena fix you amulet or whatever you call it." she said with a soft, sad smile. She didn't want him miserable, and didn't want to mourn while not herself, not feeling all the pain and grief from Eve's death.

Vadász looked down to her as she walked up to him, grimacing a little, hesitant to give what was left of those emotions back to her. "I can ask her later, right now I think I should leave her be." He glanced over to her, she seemed so content, he would bother her later. He hugged her, held her close to his chest as he slowly gave it all back to her, making sure it was only her emotions that he was giving back and none of his own. "I'll just go get some rest." He told her quietly, kissing her forehead as he slowly let go of her, heading back towards the house they had been in before, going upstairs to the bedroom, flopping down with a heavy sigh. He could hear a bird softly singing, and he knew whom it was.

Priya had changed into a nightingale and was quietly singing, making sure that she wouldn't draw attention to anyone, sensing how her brother was feeling along with everyone else. She just hoped she was helping rather than hindering. She half expected Roran to shoot at her again, or Sarah come out of nowhere and start beating her again.

Kantern cocked an eyebrow. "So they don't approve of you being half elf? You're still a wizard, Leena. The throne is your birth right. You just have to be sure it stays in your family. You have to find someone. It would be best if her were to be a full blooded wizard, that way your child would be seventy-five percent. If all would go well, your descendants would only marry full blood wizards as well, and before you know it, that half that you don't have becomes a fraction of a fraction. Plus, the throne would stay in your family. After all, the duties of a monarch are to keep the country safe, as well as keep the royalty line alive. You bearing your country a child is more important than this war." Kantern crossed his legs at the ankle, stared at his feet, then uncrossed them. having an idea, he reached into his bag, pulling out another potion. Looking at it, he chuckled. "Here," he handed it to her, "this potion was one of the easy ones. It guarantees offspring if you mate within five hours of drinking it." Chuckling, the smile stayed. "It'll guarantee your country a prince or princess when the time comes."

Roran growled under his breath, cursing. Cori needs to get there. She'll probably be one of the first people Selena wants to see. Taking a glance around, he found the elf he wanted. Walking there calmly, he passed Vadasz, not giving him a glance. "Cori," he spoke, "You need to get to Selena's side. Even if it pains you, you'll probably be one of the first people she wants to see and speak to." Lowering his eyes, he could tell she was doing okay, but not great. Turning, he noticed the hawk, gave him a sad look, and shook his head. "you can accompany her. Leena will be headed there anyways." Walking passed the bird, he went to find Gyors.

Lyn looked up at the voice in her head, knowing who it was. She hadn't hear about Selena's accident though. Something happened to the princess? Oh, nevermind, I'll get everyone ready. We can leave within the hour. Walking out and spreading the word, everyone was packed within thirty minutes, a quiet calm going across the army. Lead the way, Tuin. She was angry about having to figure out a new defensive strategy, but they needed to be with their princess. If she was in Aras, they would be there too.

Kantern watched as everyone packed up. He knew he didn't have to leave because he only carried what was on his back. He wasn't sure about Leena, but he didn't bother asking. He'd know if she got up too.

Cori looked to Roran, barely supressing the urge to put an arrow through his heart. She doubted he'd miss her hand shifting closer to her quiver. "I'll go with the army. And I doubt Selena will want to see me unless to tell me to leave her be. She only tolerated me because of Eve. And thank you ever so much for giving your permission." she kept herself from snapping, though the ice wasn't as easily supressed.

Cori glanced to Vadász with a faint, quick smile before pushing the emotions down and heading into the forest, ignoring anything else either said. She kept going until she found a clearing, speaking softly in elven, murmuring a spell she'd been taught since birth. A glass sword formed in her hands, which she pushed into the ground as she knelt, whispering all the while in Elven. She slipped a necklace over her head, though it formed two as the chain reached the crest of her head. The original fell back to her neck, the second remaining in her hands. She put the necklace over the sword, the hilt holding it up. Eve had given it to her when they were little, a birthday present. She hadn't taken it off since she put it on upon recieving it. A rosebush began to grow around the sword, twining around it with white roses budding, then blooming only to wither away and fall to the ground. The petals sank into the ground, and the bush bloomed again. This time to stay there.

Cori fell silent, the ancient ceremony her parents had taught her finally completed. It was one to honor and always remember the dead, only meant for family or close friends and used by few families any more, her family being one of them. She finally let herself cry openly, tears mostening the soil.

She got to her feet, murmuring a goodbye as she turned and left, not sure how long she'd spent out here. It had been at least an hour, judging by the sun. She showed no evidence of what she'd done, most her sorrow supressed and lessened. She reached the house, slipping inside and pausing. He was upstairs, presumably in the bedroom as she didn't see him down here. She sighed softly, going up and knocking lightly on the door. "Come on, we're leaving." she said simply, pushing all her emotions away to hide them from him too, hopefully. She'd seen them packing up as she returned, Tyri already ready to leave and saddled up.

Leena just nodded once, sighing as she shrugged. "I didn't say the advisors were smart about things back home. I never listen to them." She murmured, not really wanting to speak of them anymore. She had her reasons for never obeying them. Oh she knew where this was going, resting her forehead against her clasped hands, elbows resting on her knees. And..... there. She felt her cheeks flush, it happened every time someone mentioned her having to bear a child for her country. Again, it was a part of her duty. And again, she felt that emptiness grow a little larger. She moved her hands away, letting them fall forward limply before letting them rest in her lap, staring at the snow a bit before she turned to look at him, hearing him rummage around in his bag. She took it without a word, looking at it with distant eyes briefly, snapping into focus as she raised them to him, putting the potion away in the same pouch as the other she held, trying to get her blushing cheeks to cool off. "Do you have any idea how often I've heard that? Nevermind, I'm sure you do..." She closed her eyes, about to comment further when she saw everyone starting to pack up. She could get there sooner than any of them, so she didn't move from where she was sitting, her heart feeling heavy again.

"Thank you for the potion. I'm sure whatever man they arrange for me will be happy to know that a child is assured." She murmured, trying to not let him see how she really felt inside, keeping a small smile on her features. Whatever comment she would have said, she withheld, it wouldn't affect anything. She would still be forced into an arranged marriage, and then she would be expected to sleep with the man the night of the marriage no matter what she felt. Her smile had gone and she hadn't realized it since she had gotten lost in her thoughts, pulling herself back to them in the snow. "I personally could care less about the pureblood aspect. My parents were happy and they were fine." She said finally to try and show that she was fine, even if she really wasn't.
