Brynhildr plopped down silently on her usual spot, looking exhausted and drained. "I'll be damned if I spend more time with children that the parents cannot control! Not to mention my sister's birthday celebration...." She sighed as the weight of all that had taken place was slowly catching up. Especially since she would stay up late at times to see what her fellow peers were up to.

"I'd like to consider getting to know a fellow member of our great Order more of a privilege than a duty," There he goes with that smile again, one of honest warmth unfamiliar to those who may have not had a kind face look upon them so before. Still, as far as he knew, Mithras was genuinely intrigued by the centaur and was even concerned about her since her reaction towards Nozomi's antics.
"While true, I am made recently a Hedge Knight, my name is Mithras. Please call me by that."
Along the wall before the Library entrance is a couple of coat hangers, one of which he uses to hang his helmet and another he retrieves a simple brown robe that he draws over himself, covering his armor and sheathed blade. "I do personally delight in books and studies and such..." gestures towards the entrance, "Shall we begin?"
Sensing something in the air, another fellow's presence perhaps, he calls out to her via mindspeak, ~Brynhildr, my dear, you are welcomed to join us in the Library if you so wish.~

The equine was still wary of his smile, no matter how sincere he meant to be. Why Mithras took such an interest in her, she would never know. Maybe it was the fact she was the only centaur in this order (having seen another swarthy centaur much like herself else where in this guild), or perhaps her demonic horns. From the corner of her eye, she watched Mithras with a slight scrutiny. "If you so desire," she said, to both comments. "Likewise, I am Rhiu." She might as well give her name to him as he had so kindly done to her. It was out of mere obligation that she did so, otherwise her name would have remained anonymous. In the dark halls, she noticed two hangers hanging just outside of the Library. Rhiu cocked her head to the left as she watched the blue-haired young man retrieve a brown robe while he hung up his holy helm. "Do you frequent here quite often?" Rhiu asked, gesturing to the hangers as she pushed open the great doors.

"Indeed, I do." He steps inside after the centaur, "I am a simple man, really. I delight in the smells of old parchments and ancient texts." He coughs a little and he laughs as he swats at the air with his hand, "The dust is a less desired but it comes with the territory."

The Library in itself was a very beautiful place, what with it's cathedral-like ceilings high above their heads, arching around a set of rectangular, ornate windows. It never failed to take her breath away. Rhiu had been to the other Order's libraries, but none like the Order of Leo's rendered her speechless like it did every time she entered. In her direct line of vision, a demonic looking woman sat at a table, looking flustered. Her blazing red hair flowed over two tiny stubs Rhiu assumed to be horns, and at once she yearned to get to know this woman. Maybe she wasn't the only one with a visage of someone terribly frightening. It dawned on her she was her with Mithras and not some woman she had never seen before, thus it would be quite rude if she were to ditch him. The centaur maneuvered her cumbersome body with a surprising grace as she turned to face the man beside her.
"I'm most pleased to hear I am not the only one who finds comfort in a dusty tome," The centaur stretched out her arms beside her to encompass the library, flashing a smile at Mithras. "You must tell me, what is your favorite?" Rhiu's attention went to the books on her right, a hand running along the spines of them lovingly.

Maluc sat in silence, listening to all that happened within his hall. Keeping watch over everything he presided over. Seemingly in meditation, he felt something strange in the air. Hashmal was uneasy, and Maluc wanted to know why.
((This week I'll be making all the hunter banners, and I'll do my best to finally come up with more blm banners that I can be satisfied with. Good to see you all keeping busy, especially with RPing so literately. Keep up the good stuff, I have a feeling some promotions may be coming.))

((@Maluc: We'll keep doing our best for the glory of Leo, sir! *salutes))
Mithras chuckles, the light-heartedness of which carries a soft ring in the air of the magnificent library, "And know you shall. While I do find the works and studies of ancient civilizations quite fascinating, I always bring myself back to where it all began for me when I was a young boy," he pauses to walk around another bookshelf and comes back with a thick leather-bound book, "Sir Thomas Mallory's Le Morte d'Arthur."

((Indeed! -salutes- ))
With Mithras's soft chuckle weaving around the high-ceiling Library, he disappeared behind some towering bookcases. In the meantime, the centaur was left to her own devices, so she started to scan some of the aged, clothbound volumes. Her eyes landed on one that piqued her interest. With the utmost of care, she carefully took it off the shelf where she began to leaf through it's numerous pages. Shortly afterward, Mithras re-appeared with another softcover at least 500 pages. The girl stopped what she was doing, her eyes on the thick tome he so tenderly carried. With a resounding thump! Rhiu closed the book she held in her hands, placing it on the table as she cantered over to the presumed holy man. "I don't necessarily have a favorite, I tend to like most books I read equally," she says with a shrug of her shoulders. "though if I were to boil it down to the first book I ever read, I can assure you that it would not be something so cultured."

((*applaudes the Leos* whee ))
Altima had seen much of the order, but not all of it. Thus, when she first entered the room with Leo's judge, she did not notice the said person. After a moment, however, she did. Altima would've done something to show respect, but Maluc was currently unaware of her it seemed.
Also, she would never bow lowly or kneel to another. She had done enough of such things in the past, and it represented more of servitude than respect to her.
The lion's presence was certainly in every room of the Order. And, she also could feel his uneasiness. It made the hairs on the back of her neck stand out a bit. Through all the energies she could feel, the other esper could not quite determine the cause of Hashmal's feelings. It wasn't due to her, was it? No, the lion surely would have said as such to her before...

Another chuckle from Mithras, amused by her reaction, "Is cultured so wrong? Many great works followed and were inspired by this one and as an impressionable young lad it helped me gain a sense of direction in life." He peruses the large bookcase before him, still holding on to his book in one arm, "Quite frankly my human brain can only take in so much knowledge and information no matter how vast my curiosity or fascination." He brushes his thumb across the spines of several books in one row, looking at each title carefully, "I grow tired of the sound of my own voice, so please tell me about that first book of yours."

Thank you. But I will rest a while before I join you. 'Tis been a tiring week. She replied to Mithras. Brynhildr sighed. Life had kept her busy. Not known to many, the battle-maiden back at home kept her 'house' as clean as she could, took care of 5 kittens that once were wild, but now tame, had two siblings, one who had a birthday within the week, and busy with a 'job'. Not to mention, sudden guest turning up.....with children. *eye twitch IRL*

((Nice to make you're acquaintance, Altima the High Seraph!))
"I never said cultured was wrong, I meant that I never read something cultured for my first book." Rhiu's voice echoed in the great library as she traveled along the rows of bookcases, searching for it. "Mind you, back from where I came from, there wasn't a lot of books per se..." Her voice trailed off as she disappeared behind yet another towering bookcase. Her hand traveled along the spines, looking for it. It took another minute for her to locate the book, but she succeeded. "You see, the first book I ever read was a bestiary," At a slight gallop, she returned to Mithras and showed him the book. "This collection of beasts was pretty important to us," she said, explaining to him what this book meant. "It held the answers to many of our questions." The centaur flipped open the book, her emerald orbs scanned the various, crude drawings of many beasts, some run-of-the-mill and some that were more mythical in their appearance. A wave of nostalgia washed over her as she read some passages.

Do be sure to rest well, dear friend. replied Mithras to Brynhildr's mindspeak.
He listens intently to Rhiu's explanations, nodding in understanding and silently encouraging her to continue further. His smile is one of fascination towards not only the subject of the book but also in the way the female centaur speaks. Something in her body language and tone of voice suggests the nostalgia that she's feeling and he's apt to pick up on that.

She stopped herself after a couple of entries, paused, then finally shut the hardcover. From the corner of her eye, she addressed Mithras. "As you can see, this was like our bible," she sighs, staring off into the middle space. For a moment, she is lost far back into her subconscious. The centaur realizes this and swims back to reality.
"Without it, we wouldn't be able to survive in our harsh clime that breeds many horrible beasts," she starts, running a swarthy hand along the cover of the cherished book. How the Library managed to get a copy, she could only fathom.
"the centaurs had a civilization all on their own, they even had the sophistication and means of making books"-- she hefted it up for emphasis-- "much like this one. And that would conclude your history lesson for today, Hedge Knight." Her voice is still filled with that bitter edged of nostalgia, as she remembers her childhood in the fabled woods. Many in Ivalice didn't know her kind existed, much less lived. That was how good the Centaurian race was at hiding, equipped with superior skill of stealth and knowledge of the woods no hume could even fathom. The girl keeps the book under her arm, deciding to borrow it for the time being. Figuring no one else would object otherwise, she pardons herself from the man's company.
"I apologize, but I have some duties to attend to-- you must know how it goes, yes?" Rhiu maneuvers around the table and begins to exit the library, intent on reading the book she held front to back. It took no less than a few minutes to reach her dormitory where she deposited the book upon the duvet laying on the floor, and turned to exit once more. Being half-horse herself, she found beds rather useless.
Shortly thereafter, she started to immerse herself into her work for the day, doing the duties most had to preform when adorned the title of 'Dark Knight'.
((I'm assuming we have 'separated dormitories'.))
