Proudly_Jewish Dubix Proudly_Jewish Is anyone here other than myself learning German? I''ve only been studying German for 2 months and I find that I''m very drawn to it... it''s a lot like English 3nodding not only is it alot like english (English being a Germanic language...that''s why x3), its also quite easy to pick things up once you get the hang of it. The only downside being that there are no set rules for putting on Die, Das, and Der... thus why I just learn them with the words heart Well, you have to learn them with the words... they indicate gender, don''t they? You can''t really guess the genders (same with Spanish and French). In French and many other langauges though, the word gives you hints as to which gender it takes, though certain combinations, patterns, sounds, endings, etc, so that once you get the feel for it, the article is a reflex.

To help you with verbs, I'd suggest 501 German Verbs. For anything else, though, I don't really know. The Tutorial for German at http://ielanguages.com is a pretty good resource for grammar and stuff, but their pronunciation descriptions are questionable. For a great pronunciation lesson, go to: http://www.ex.ac.uk/german/abinitio/pronounce/

I am currently learning German. I will try and learn some things from watching what people post in here... Or perhaps I will ask questions.

Ah an aussie that can speak a foreign language... How rare ;D [ jk jk... ] Ach so, keine Sorge, du besser werden. Ich habe 'Sie' benutzt veil ich war das weg angelernt. You see, I don't even know if that sentance works. I've only been at it for a year. I'll use 'du' from now on. 3nodding And it's not uncommon for Australians to learn a second language, it's just not very often we're fluent in them unless our herritage stems from a different culture, and reccently. I have German blood, but the last time I actually had direct relatives living there was some 3 or 4 generations ago. Also, this online dictionary is incredible.
