(I think it might make things a bit TOO conveniant. Similarly, I don't think Yuugi can just show Atemu his memories and have the world better- I think its something that needs to be learned. He might be able to work to find a way to dig up Atemu's repressed memories, but then he'll have to fight the very programming they put in there.
If Ryou DID know Arabic, it would be ONLY the most rudimentary. "Yes, know, hello, how do you do, what time is, where hous is." (Those particular phrases tend to be some of the first covered in classes for second languages, so...)
Similarly, he would have a VERY difficult time gathering what Atemu was saying.)
"He... he doesn't remember..." Yuugi murmured quietly. He knew he should be trying to calm Jounouchi, comfort his friends.... shakily Yuugi tried to stand up, to put on a brave face, but to Atemu, who shared a link, it was obvious the pain he felt.

Jounouchi's eyes widened as he backed away from Yuugi a bit, giving him room to stand up. He looked up at Atem, not knowing what to say now.
Anzu reacted in a similar way, looking first at Yuugi then at Atem in shock, "Atem... doesn't..." she looked down trying not to cry.

It took Yuugi time, but after what seemed an eternity he forced himself to calm down, to accept what was going on. Violet eyes turned up to Atemu, and he murmured. ~Atemu... .you were- are- my other self.... Since I solved the Puzzle almost two years ago*....~ He shook his head, and blinked up at Atemu in confusion. ~If you didn't know... what brought you here?~ He almost looked a bit hopeful- the thought that the link might have lead Atemu there, that it would be a simple solution, had dawned on Yuugi.... then he remember the way his other half had callously pushed him to the ground and his eyes darkened.
((*anyone know how much time passes during the series? O.o; wink )

Atemu looked down at the sennen puzzle that hung from his neck. Considering that it belonged to him, and as far as he knew always had, he had trouble believe Yuugi's words. But then, when he thought about it, he really didn't know that far at all. All he knew was life at ATZ, and he'd always had a feeling that there was more than that somewhere within him. Maybe this was it.
~Why did I come here? Well, to be honest, Yuugi, I was brought here specifically to kill you.~ He paused for a moment, knowing that it was going to be very difficult for Yuugi, and wanting to give the meaning of the words a moment to sink in, ~I'm sure it's not the answer you wanted to hear, but it's the truth. Of course, although I don't remember you, or any of these things you've been telling me, I can't bring myself to do it. I have no proof that you're not lying to me but...I trust you.~ It was an interesting realisation, one he had not come to until after he'd said it. Trust was certainly not an emotion he was familiar with, he definitely didn't trust any of the men or women at ATZ at all. And he had no reason to trust Yuugi either, but he did. It was strange.
