.: Stick on the Ravnos Dagoth and let Corbin handle the Samedi. You dont have the skills range he does for dealing with it, but you do for teh Ravnos. As you said earlier... there is no will but mine, right? Chimestry wont work on you as long as you remember that. :.

*The cool clear air finally began to shift the rage form her fugged mind. Whereas her ability to blood rage had always been of boon in teh past, she knew that today it had caused unnecessary injuries and she couldnt help hating herself for what she deemed a failure*

The enemy knows us well and uses their knowledge against us.

*She turned her hea,d looking for teh voice's source, but saw no one. She smiled*

War... why can you never deliver a lesson BEFORE its needed?
Would you have listened?
You have a point.
Do not let regret taint your senses Vengeance. Your first correct call was in switching targets with Corbin and taking yourself off the front line. Observe.

*Looking below, Roan took in the entire area. At the focus of it all, Dagoth and Corbin fighting their respective targets. Quint, 99 and the newcomer - Tank - each dealing with what was left to them, but too scattered for her liking. To the edges of teh confrontation, the passively active forces of Syn, restraining any grunts from leaving the area and to her amazement, salvaging human survivors from the ruins of the town.*

We... must do this alone.
Correct. The world watches, Vengeance, and you are our most earthly hand. Strike with conviction, let yoru anger burn low until it can sear your enemies hotter than the longest burning petrol doused blaze. This is your duty.
I understand, sir. I will do my best.
Blood matters. Do not be afraid to use what you have been given.

*Nodding, Roan closed her eyes and relaxed, taking the material from over them and her other sleeve and discarding them. Her eyes flickered through various colours and patterns as she looked below, then began to give her orders, turning her earpiece back on*

Corbin, Dagoth. Stay on your targets and keep them busy. Much as I'd like to yell 'take them alive!', Im done being foolish. Take ONE alive if reasonably possible. If not... diablorise them.
99, Quint, Tank. Close in on 99's location. Again, your objective is to procure any data files IF reasonably possible. If not, I want that building destroyed as well as anyone who stands in your way. They should be low on blood by now and I believe you all capable of survival.
In a few minutes, if not interrupted by a certain German swine, I will be launching an AOE attack on the entire city. When it comes, do not flinch - you'll be protected. Instead, press your attack and lets see if seven men cant destroy an army.
Good luck.

*Cool, calm rationale descended over her as she allowed herself to merge with teh otehr mind she knew so well. Ferago's blade liquified, then covered her right arm as ROan became Rake once again, the gathering thunderheads roaring and moving to her will. Long streams of Herbrew like a long plummed tail descended form he rback towards teh ground as she focused her attention beneath teh surface, at what she knew lay there*

He keyed his comm just in time to catch the latter half of her orders. He paused and looked around the scene of devastated bodies, each sporting the lack of a head. He was panting softly from the exertion, given that after the first few it became a touchy firefight, but whatever survivors there were were locked out. And as a special touch, the first dumb b*****d to try and disturb him would likely trip the line he rigged the door with, detonating the C4 charge waiting for them.

This is 99. Roger that. Tacsit in the warehouse is dodgy, at best. The main security around the objective has been dealt with, but there's still fringes of the detatchment lurking around. Quint, Tank, keep frosty when you get here.

He slid into the chair beside him and wheeled himself around to the mainframe. He raised a brow, wishing he had less to bother him as he went about his work.

I'm doing what I can to bypass the electronic countermeasures now.

His fingers danced across the keypad, and he stared intently as he began weaseling his way into the system. With a sigh, he hit a wall, and shook his head. He reached into his left breast pouch and removed his PDA. HE unwound the cable spooled in the side of the device and jacked it into the system, and let the data start streaming into his visor. He initiated several intrusion software packets stored in his own device, and with a grin, he found himself more and more absorbed in his work. It was a few moments before he thought to break his attention to hit the comm again.

If someone could get to the security office on the second floor down and give me a heads up if something heads my way, this would go a lot faster.

"Quint here, understood."

Standing up, Quint yawned, walking to the building where 99 had held himself in. Guards were more busy trying to aid the wounded to notice another man stroll right into their main building.

Once inside, he went for the stairs, stepping over, sometimes onto bodies that littered the ground. Soon he reached sub-level two, and could hear a few leftovers in the office, he quietly checking his ammunition. In the clip there was still a few bullets left, and Quint figured that it'd be enough with the right surprise.

"At the security station." Quint spoke softly into the comm, "Breaching."

Wanting to have a somewhat quiet approach, Quint gave a command to his bats, who then detached from his back and went straight for the circut breaker near him. Inside the office there were two different circuts: One for lights, the other for power for machines. Cutting the line to the lights, Quint put on his infrared goggles, and waited a couple moments, hidden behind the staricase.

Ruckus ensued, and the guards came out, nervous and on edge about the recent power outage. With their backs turned, Quint went for the point man, a clean shot directly to the temple, the guard falling like a sack. Quint then ran up behind the closest man, and used him as a shield for the oncoming shots from the other two Cainites. After his captive was disposed of, Quint took his last two shots to kill the third.

Stadning off with the last of his agressors, Quint shot, only to hear a defining click of his pistol. Grunting with superority, the last Cainite raised his own rifle, preparing what he thought would be an easy kill. He wouldn't even see Quint's wings scwer his bloated stomach then severing his arms in a swift crecent motion.

Post-battle, Quint unloaded his pistol, arming himself again with the mighty Dragonbreath rounds. Placing the saftey on, and taking his goggles off, Quint hopped over the mangled body into the security room, again speaking on the comm.

"Quint reporting, at the objective." Quickly his eyes scanned the various monitors, "You're all clear right now 99: No hostiles in the building." Tappin g a few commands on the keyboard let Quint see outside, some cameras still intact "Still mostly calm outside from what I can tell, but there are a couple disturbances that could use some dealing with."

I read you. Let Tank handle it...he's probably sorry his missed most of the party.

He continued his work, his fingers dancing at a frenzied pace.

Nasty bit of counterintrusion software they have here. Shouldn't take too much longer, though. I think I found a crack in their defenses.

He laughs as he overhears the conversation between Quint and 99.

Damn straight...

He clears out the remaining hostiles, then starts a careful patrol around the warehouse.

Tank to Quint. I'm securing th' perimeter now. I'll keep ye' posted if anythin' shows up...

*She nodded with calm self-aimed reassurance as she watched the less over-powered elements of the mission reach their objectves and listened in on the reports of their success*

Time to learn something from the more human elements... lets party.

*She leaned back and turned her face up to the dark clouds overhead, sighing with pleasure as it suddenly began to POUR with rain. Water splashing over her, she smiled as the thunderhead broke, the power of the sound alone causing what glass remained hanging in window frames to fall out, noise reverberating across the city.
Predictably, it was followed seconds later by a MASSIVE bolt of lightning. Earthing itself in Rake's body, the bolt flickered as many bolts to the ground then back up again, charging the elemental deity with power.
Now lacking features due to teh power crackling over her body as heat and light, Rake turned her attention downwards, eyes two coal black holes in her featureless face.
The hebrew draping down from her body began to move and writhe, burrowing into the ground, seeking the conductor that every city had in abundance - the deeply buried water system.
In seconds, pipes and mains, even the reclamation facility, was ringed by teh living lettering, then it lit up like a firework parade as teh lightning from the clouds above channelled through Rake, then on down teh writing. Explosions rocked teh city once more as teh water broke free, every single drop of water, including the rain, sparking with stinging volts. Inside every building, the electrified water shot from taps and shower heads, while outside, the mains ruptured up into the night like geysers.
Chaos reigned below Rake as she smiled a fanged grin, yet around the buildings where 99 and his team were situated, and all around Corbin and Dagoth's locations, thinsg remained relatively calm, no water disturbing those buildings at all, and for those still outside, it was as if something kept batting any stray drops aside as they neared the unintended targets.
For a full minute, Rake rained down her attack, not holding back a single ounce of power in her bid to wipe the ground beneath clean*

In the flickering light of vengeance, thou shalt be cleansed and absolved. Where are you hiding, Engel?

The power began to flicker as her wonderful little "natural" disaster began to take effect. Conveniently in the middle of 99's work, no less. He swore softly to himself and began to work frantically to speed up the download of all files to his PDA. It was taking too long...at this rate...

Come on.....don't crap out on me baby....come on......

He'd hit roughly 90% when the lights flickered, dimmed, and finally the power died for them. The terminal was still running, though now it was on backup power, which likely wouldn't hold out for too much longer. He could only watch the slow progress of the file transfer.

Gawd...DAMMIT! COME ON!

He could already guess what was happening. The massive sound had carried even this far, and he didn't like it...if she was performing her "cleansing", it likely meant she nuked the power plant in the process.

Finally his earpiece chirped, and 99 shouted with glee as he yanked the plug and opened up with his smg on the terminal to celebrate his victory over the machine. He was a little less than calm in calling over the comm.

Got it! Screw the military lingo, I got the ******** pocketed his device and slung his weapon over his shoulder as he began unstringing the C4. Last thing he needed was to set off his own trap in a state of carelessness.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 22, 2007 8:22 pm

Even in Quint's room, the electricity began to dim, Quint bracing himself for something he was told wouldn't hurt. Even with the information, his eyes were squinted tightly, and shortly after it was over, he clearly heard 99's triumph.

"Nice..!" He flicked off his safety, "Guess that means this place is no longer useful..?" Taking a careful look into the hall, Quint found no hostiles, and he could swear that even the ambient light shone a bit brighter with their mission rounding out to a close.

Being outside, he is given a first-hand view of the devastation wrought by Roan.

God in heaven... It's like watching the battle for Cairo all over again...

He stares at the sky in awe.

OOC::

Sorry guys been busy with real life. Work and play, know how it goes. Anyways, let me try and catch up.

_______________________________________________________

:: First for Dagoth. ::

In response to Dagoth's attack, Godfrey did nothing. He simply stood there with a tickled smirk as the Brujah Shinigami attacked him. With the attack Dagoth would immediately realize just how tough the Ravnos' hide really was. Tougher then any earthly diamond, and with the aid of the discipline 'share the wound' the kick would have sent bone snapping revirberations through Dagoth's foot/shin depending on which part of his leg he hit the translucent Cainite with.

"Vhat did you break zere, hmm? A vew toez, zee ankle? muzt zting."

Godfrey then grinned and moved with a large spin on his heels, aiming a back fist for Dagoth's jaw, trying to take up as much space to decrease evasion space.

________________________________________________

:: Corbin ::

Having watched Corbin's transformation Schnider tilted his head to the side, and rose his hands to begin a curt applaud.

"Interezting herr General. Zer gutt. Zis vill make zee vight interezting. Devour me if you can"

Schnider then took a defensive stance, and urged Corbin come for him with a hand gesture.

Grinning with his widened maw, Corbin suddenly shot forward, taking Ansuz up in his right hand as he charged the man. With a spin on his heels as he aproached Schnider, Corbin launched himself at the man in a distorted barrel roll, slash inclusive as air ripped about his blade, cutting ribbons out of the rooftop.

:: Roan ::

As the clouds bucketed down, and the streets flooded as lightning ripped through the conductive waves, a single thunderous shot rang out. From behind her, a 30mm explosive shell loaded with the blood corrosive micro-organism solution raced for Rake.

Meanwhile, off in the distance to the right a figure stood atop the ruins of a still mildly standing building concieled under a cloak the same as the other two german hitmen. Standing there as the rain hit his cloak, strands of blonde hair swaying in the wind from under his hood, three crimson eyes leered out at Rake. In his right hand, Engel held a cannon similiar to the 30mm cannons Corbin gave to his advanced ghoul soldiers, however it was far more advanced then that. Single full breech loading barrel, grenade launcher attachment and a bayanet(sp?) the length and similiar make of a katana.

In his left hand the german held a minigun, with a belt of ammunition running from the load to a massive pack on his back, containing lord knows how lengthy a belt of rounds.

Finally, he still had the old six shooter revolver holstered in his belt just to the left of his buckle. What ever else he wore under the cloak, was a mystery as of yet.

"Guten morgan, Veangenze."

THERE you are....

*The shell headed for her seemed to slow, the deity flipping upside down in mid air to look at it. Extendeding her fingers, she brought it to a complete stop, her curved taons gently playing over the metal, before her eyes blazed white. The shell, stopped my teh electromagnetic energy that was like breathing to Rake, increased its pressure on the projectile until with a satisfying crack, it split, letting the liquid within spill out, Rake then flicked it towards the ground, her eyes on Engel as she let power course through her again*

Sir Engel. It is time we did battle. Your merry dance has, to be frank, bored me. I dont care for your masters, your techniques and in all honesty... I dont really care for the lives you took. You must know that my organisation's leader is called simply War. And he was kind enough to remind me... I am NOT human any longer. Not even the slight bit I claimed as a cainite applies. So. This is where we now stand.

*Turning right side up and moving towards Engel, Rake's eyes closed, her body relaxing, before they flared open again and everything changed*

Let me show you how gods make war...

*Flipping her wings so that she spiralled through the air as she advanced, Rake moved faster than should have been possible Ferago coming over her shoulder... until she had two. One in each hand, she aimed first for the cannon Engel had used, looking to slice it in half*

(('s cool, mate.))

99 Raced up the stairs, keying his comm as he went.

Right, my friends and fellow idiots, methinks our role here has ended. I'm all for getting this data to the mansion so I don't have to worry about the damn PDA taking a stray bullet. Who's with me?

He rushed up to the main ground floor, stealth forsaken as he sprinted along the lines of cargo containers. The sounds of wanton destruction ringing in his ears.

Besides...by this point, we're a little outmatched. Let's let the generals do each other in and try not to get in the way.

He broke out into the open, and skidded to a halt, all words lost as the energetic annihilation of the city persisted.

Oh...Sweet mother of God....

He didn't even flinch as the heavy round was fired, though he snapped out of his trance a few seconds afterwards.

What the hell?

Hell? Hah! You've never been on MY front line before 99. Get out of here. Jan will meet you outside the town where you left the jeep. I think even you'll be impressed with his choice of transportation. This has gone beyond the need for pretentious human fighting. You did well.
Keep me informed on your progress.

::Roan::

With a smirk, Engel raised the minigun, and gave a satisfied little mumble ar he watched Rake's hasty approach with three glowing red eyes. He then turned his body and riased the cannon held in his right hand to Rake's blade.

With a devious twinkle in his third eye Engel released the cannon and dropped low with a spin on the spot. As Engel hit his knees after a 360 degree turn, he dropped the a** end of the minigun on the cement and held the barrel wheel up at point blank range to Rake's gut.

With Valaren he managed to judge a way of holding the cannon for Rake's blade so that when it cut through non-conductive material sharded towards her face.

Pulling the trigger of the minigun he watched, hoping it would only become apparent after the hit that the rounds were non-conductive, therefor uneffected by magnetism, each one ofcourse filled with the blood devouring micro-organisms. This was one thing Engel was sure to take advantage of after studying Roan and her paste fights and styles. The warning shot from his 30mm cannon served as the perfect indicater.

"I zwear, zis time you vill zee mein true powerz! God or not I vont run vrom a powervul voe!"

____________________________________________________

::Corbin::

With a shreeking glass like shatter, tiles, concrete and other debris exploded from the warehouse rooftop and moments later Schnider was thrown backwards through the smoke through the air over the street below, pistols drawn and firing madly into the cloud of dust and debris.

With his boots firmly stuck to a slab of concrete as it fell , despite his standing parallel to the ground below Corbin leered up in Schnider's direction.

"Is that truely all you posess, human weapons and combat tactics? Your not dealing with mortals, or normal immortals here. A god, Shinigami, and diableric Cainite."

The concrete slap then shattered as Corbin vanished and appeared behind Schnider. Turning, Schnider pointed one of his glocks and fired, though the shot passed right through, and Corbin faded.

Widening an eye as he landed in a crouch, Schnider tried to think, though Corbin appeared again, this time in the flesh after useing Distortion. If Schnider hadn't of turned, then the pair would be face to face, however Corbin now had an open shot at the Samedi's left side, and took it.

Long blades produced from his left handed nails pierced through Schnider's left arm and side before running clear out through the other side and one nail caught the elbow of his right arm.

With two arms pinned, a splutter of blood dripping from under his mask Schnider gave a grunt as he was forced into a turn exposing his back and the scissor end of Ansuz was thrust into the center of his back, severing his spine.

Severing the spine, for most would at the very least paralyze a body, if not instantly kill someone, perhaps even a Cainite however being what he was, Schnider still managed to stand independantly and speek.

"you've made a miztake herr General. Coming into zuch cloze quarterz."

Schnider then tugged his right arm free after his spinal column recconected naround the blade and he reached around, clutching Corbin's left wrist tightly. With this hold, and Corbin's predictable attempt to fall back, he manipulated the bones in his body to hold Corbin's nails. This made it difficult for Corbin to retreat now.

"Heh, Maybe I should have gone with a bit less of a, hands on approach, but its so much more satisfying, oh well."

Corbin then felt something strange. It was a sensation he had never felt before, and couldn't possibly describe. Around Schnider's right hand, Corbin's steel hide was starting to rust, and flake.

Snarling, Corbin made a drastic move. He opened his mouth wide, wider then normally possible and with his sabertooth fangs drove his jaws into Schnider's shoulder and neck, his fangs breaking through flesh, muscle and bone as a fountain of vitae flooded out, and Corbin instantly began burning the blood he drank, so as to avoid harmful effects, till he had weakened Schnider atleast.

Throwing his head back, Schnider gave a roar of pain. Glancing up now though he saw Engel and Rake, and watching Engel compete with the god, he was fueled to grip tighter on Corbin's wrist, and the rust began rapidly spreading across Corbin's body.
