Traci walked along the sidewalk, busily approaching the small little cafe, and checked in.
She enjoyed this job immensely. She actually found it easy to communicate with people with a smile on her face and confidence in her aura. Traci also enjoyed the briskness and business of taking the orders and dealing with problems, even for a little cafe such as this.
"All right, Trace," her boss smiled at her. "We've got a mini-crowd today."
And Traci walked smiling to take her first order.

Khyn blushed and looked away. Great... Her fingers started playing with the hem of her uniform skirt, almost like a nervous habit. "Sorry," she said very quietly. "So... uh... why... ummm" She looked back towards him and out his window towards the wood he'd discarded. "I thought you were gonna use all that to build a bridge or something."

Fiasco breezed through dozens of possible answers yet settled on the truth. "To paraprhase, I'll be meeting some bad people there later. The same that gave me the limp I have now, and destroye a small Ma and Pop store." He thought for another second before smileing and telling her, "Besides, I'll get that wood back, and I'll build one hell of a bridge out of it just for you." All right. Maybe most of the truth will work.

((To those who were wondering, IRL I've gotten more busy. I'm trying to get a scholarship, and getting good grades is required. (Most of the time) So, I have to focus on my studies. I might come back this summer for some intense Rping! So, I might not be out of the game, but I'm down for now. Thanks to those who tried to involve me, that was very nice of you. I'm happy those of you who are having so much fun, and know that this thread shant die because it's creator simply stopped showing up every single hour of the day. Threads thrive of the life given to them, which would be those of you who are posting ever so often, which is good. Keeping it alive might just help me to come back. 30 pages is a lot to read though, so keep me posted on what's going on! ((A PM every once in a while would be great.)) Thanks so much to all of you. And good luck with your RP! For you are the owners.))

(I'm soooo sorry! Classes started up this week and works been giving me hassle cause I'm in classes and they now have to work around my schedule! lol!)
Khyn laughed at that. "Oh.. thanks. I've always wanted one." She looked at him from the corner of her eyes and watched him as he drove. her stomach growled softly and she flushed.
"You can just drop me off at that cafe coming up if you want to... considering you probably have other things to do than drive me around. You know, since you have to be getting ready for your Battle Royale later and all." She turned to look at him, a delicate brow raised slightly.

"Battle Royale? I'd hardly call it a battle royale. That implies, well, it implies wrestleing in my head, and wrestleing is kind of worthless." He pulled into the cafe's lot. "I'd say it's more of a..." He thougth about it breifly, "straight fight. The kind that their are no winners. Only losers." he pulled the car up to the front of the cafe and put it in park. "Until tomorrow?" He smiled and looked at her.

((Just got done with exams and stuff. So now I should have more time. Oh, wait, but drama will be starting up soon, so maybe not so much. Just fyi. Lol))
"Thank you, sir, have a nice day!" Traci said brightly, completely peppy and happy. A person from school wouldn't have recognized her. She left the table she'd been waiting on and headed back to the kitchen.
On her way, she saw a car in the parking lot. A familiar car, holding familiar people.
Traci winced inwardly. People from school rarely came here. She'd feel a bit awkward.
But she took a breath and shook her head. She was being silly. She'd just act her normal self.

Khyn guessed that Fiasco had never read Battle Royale, which was about a bunch of school kids who had to kill each other until only one person was left... who was the winner and got to live. She mentally shrugged but didn't correct him. "Well, thanks for the ride and uh.. good luck with your fight I guess." She opened the car door and slid out, tossing her backpack on her shoulder. She did a slight wave as she closed the door and then, with the wind ruffling her uniform skirt and her hair, she walked to the cafe and went inside.
She looked around and spotted an open lounge chair in the corner near the window and went to sit down there. She pulled up a side table and brought a book out from her backpack. Might as well do some homework and drink some tea for a while.

Traci took a deep breath, mentally scolding herself. How silly was it that it took this much concentration just to talk to someone?
But Khyn had sat at one of her tables, and so she'd have to wait on her.
"Um, hey," Traci grinned hesitantly. "Can I get anything for you?"

Fiasco waited for her to get inside the cafe before putting the car in gear and leaving the lot. He drove to the diner that was roughed up by the gangers the night before. After parking, he pulled his tool bag out of his trunk, along with some wood from his backseat and walked inside. The elderly couple that owned the place looked at him as he entered, their eyes betrayed the sadness they felt in their hearts. Wordlessly, Fiasco went to work.

Khyn uncapped a marker and highlighted a part in her book. She didn't look up at the girl who'd come to take her order. "Can I get a Iced green tea... light ice and nine pumps sweetener." She knew that order would probably get some raised eyebrows but dammit all... she liked her tea sweet. She leaned back in the plushy chair and crossed a leg over the other, which made her school uniform skirt rise. She looked up at the waitress and a slight flicker of recognition came to her eyes, though she merely looked at the other girl. Her lips pursed as she waited for the girl to acknowledge her order. "Make it a grande."

Traci wrinkled her nose a little bit at the order, but restrained herself from doing any more. She'd never been good at following one of the most important rules: Don't judge the customer's order.
"All right, I'll be right back," she said, assuming her on-the-ball waitress attitude again.
It didn't take Traci long to get the tea, and when she carried it back, she merely set it down in front of Khyn and said the usual, "Anything else I can get for you?"
She briefly wondered where the other guy was now...Fiasco it was...since they seemed to be getting along pretty well at the arcade. But it was none of her business, really, and frankly, she didn't care.

Khyn's crossed leg slightly wagged as she continued studying. Every once in a while she highlighted another point to remember in her school book. She didn't think of it as defacing school property... it was more like she was helping out her fellow peers who would be using it years after she was gone. The waitress, the arcade girl perhaps... she hadn't really been paying much attention to her there, returned with her tea. Khyn reached for it as the other girl placed it down on the table. She picked the cup up and tasted, slightly nodding her head in approval.
"No, that'll be all for now. Thanks," she said with a nod and then continued studying. She couldn't remember if there had been a test scheduled for that Friday in the syllabus or not. Couldn't hurt to pass the time though.

Traci, in a very buoyant mood at the moment, was a bit irritated at Khyn's indifference. She decided it was time for her to step out and take a chance.
"Are you sure?" she pushed. "Oh," she added, noticing Khyn's book, "what subject is that?"
In her new goal she didn't think about her other customers; Traci just leaned back a bit, putting her weight on one leg while leaving the other slightly bent, her arms crossed over her chest. That was the pose she took when she expected to be standing for a while.
