Maddy opened her eyes, blinking a couple times to adjust to the light. She was still in much pain, her whole body still going through that horrible burning sensation. Her head lolled from side to side as she tried to figure out where exactly she was. Her eyelids were heavy, and she was having trouble keeping her eyes open. She also had a major headache. "Gin... ji?" She mumbled, hardly able to talk.

Adam followed Sammy, not sure exactly what he was worried about, but feeling a sense of tension from everyone else. "Aw jeez..." Adam muttered, seeing Maddy's form on the med bed.

Dj finally caught up with the group out of breath. "What the... the fight is over?" Dj called out Tropius and commanded her to take flight back to base.

MaddyMage Maddy opened her eyes, blinking a couple times to adjust to the light. She was still in much pain, her whole body still going through that horrible burning sensation. Her head lolled from side to side as she tried to figure out where exactly she was. Her eyelids were heavy, and she was having trouble keeping her eyes open. She also had a major headache. "Gin... ji?" She mumbled, hardly able to talk. Dark growls. He already had a few machines hooked up to Maddy and was busy taking her blood. He spotted Sammy enter the med lab but felt he didn't have the time to talk. He was aware of the poison but didn't know the type or lethality. As for the baby he didn't know. Also he felt the med lab was seriously understaffed.

Sammy watched as Maddy's energy stirred, and then she voiced her question. "Is her baby still alive?" she asked of Dark, afraid for the baby's life.

Maddy finally realized she was back at HQ, in the med lab. "Huh... What happened to me?" She heard Sammy inquiring about the child and turned her head towards the girl and Dark. She was still in no state to get up and move though.

MaddyMage Maddy finally realized she was back at HQ, in the med lab. "Huh... What happened to me?" She heard Sammy inquiring about the child and turned her head towards the girl and Dark. She was still in no state to get up and move though. Dark was quiet, watching a machine run the blood tests. "Well, I think I'll be able to cure you of your poison but..."He sighs and rubs the back of his head. "I'm afraid that your child isn't so lucky. It's dead."He says bluntly, not knowing how to word it any other way.

Adam's eyes widened, though his mouth kept shut. To much a chance he'd say something stupid. Even he knew a few lines not to cross.

Sammy grimaced at Dark's words, bowing her head in respect for the lost life. How the hell could this happen? Although the baby wasn't technically a member, it was still weird for anyone related to Aqua to die... she approached the medbed, making sure not to bump into any equipment along the way. "I am sorry for your loss," she stated to Maddy with the most sincerity possible.

Maddy half sat up upon hearing. "N-NO!!!" She ended up laying back down, as the act of trying to sit up made the cut in her stomach burn with pain. "N-no... Not... but it was ours... Ginji..." Her eyes burned with tears, she couldn't stop them from flowing down her cheeks. If only she had stayed with them instead of leaving, all of this could have been avoided.

Ginji..." Her eyes burned with tears, she couldn't stop them from flowing down her cheeks. If only she had stayed with them instead of leaving, all of this could have been avoided. Dark growls, playing with a few test tubes. He grabs a syringe and inserts liquid into it and makes his way over to Maddy. "Here's the anti-venom." He states, injecting it into her. Now that his job was done, he wasn't sure how to react to the whole situation. All he does it put the syringe on a small table and walk silently out of the med lab.

Sammy stayed at Maddy's side, although she could not see the girl's condition. She could, however, read her energy and could tell she was in much pain. "If it is of any comfort to you, the demon has been destroyed," she said, still a hint of sympathy and guilt in her voice.

"WHY COULDN'T SHE JUST KILL ME INSTEAD?!" Maddy screamed, clenching her fists in such a way that her nails dug into her palms. Her eyes faded to a light purple and her hands burst into black and purple flame, but even in her state of great anger and sorrow, she couldn't fight the pain and get up.

Christian put a sad look on his face. He had been a little excited to see what the baby would turn out to be if it was born into Aqua. He felt very sorry for Maddy and Ginji. So sad that he didn't notice that Torchic started emitting white light.

"...If she had killed you instead, both you and your baby would have died. While the loss of your child is awful, losing both of you would have been even worse," Sammy pointed out, not in a factual way but... More in a comforting way. She put a hand on Maddy's shoulder, seeing the energy from her hands as she produced fire. "Rest."
