Yeah, the OST was so fitting! The musician had a YT vid on the old equipment he intentionally used to get the music to have an authentic grainy edge.
My sentiment was mostly in regard to Netflix having bigger pockets; combined with my frustration that w/ Crunchy & Funi partnering there would be 1 place to watch subbed or subbed, but Netflix & Amazon are in the habit of grabbing 1 or 2 highly-anticipated shows each season (they grabbed the prequel series of Magi, which Crunchy had, so I know that was a case of sniping Crunchy by offering the creators more money). /rant

Doom (4) is simply a masterwork of the genre. Superb visuals, atmospheric and appropriate music, near-sickening sound design (in the best possible crunchy and squishy ways), and an experience that exemplifies what the original did all those years ago to establish the FPS. As somebody that is not a massive fan of the genre, I am very glad to have a copy. To me, that says a great deal when somebody not interested gushes about the game.
I really cannot say much about the anime aspect, as I rarely find one that is attention grabbing for me. I'm currently watching the second season of Tokyo Ghoul now, and am pleasantly surprised. Netflix and Hulu are my go-to for any form of entertainment, so having my anime sourced from them is rather convenient. Not disparaging crunchyroll in any way or form . . . just that I watch youtube far more than anything else these days.

I feel the same way, I'm not a fan of the FPS genre not gore, but a well-made cohesive experience can't help but stand out.
Which is fair enough, those happens to be your preferred platforms. Since I watch anime almost to the exclusion of other media, CrunchyRoll is best suited for me.
Ugh, would really love for this malaise to be over... Been sick all week.

Good to hear, snowman.
I just got done doing an 8, 9, and then 10.81 hour series of days at work. Next two off, and that is a good thing.

They were, though the new schedule is out and I am on there for two 10 hour days. I brought it up to both the asst manager and the owner (who were both there lastnight) and they couldn't figure out why either. I mean, why have somebody there for 10 hours?!

Kind of sad when they do something they can't even justify/rationalize.

To be fair, the schedule is being made by the store manager, neither the owner nor asst manager has any hand in it.

A fair assessment. One doesn't need to know every turd in the s**t show.

No prospects of any merit in the job search, same as it has been for some time I fear. As for the freelance, that has been going well, though I worry about a slowdown I am noticing. Nothing troublesome just yet since it was not something to support my family . . . but yeah. Repeat customers are running out of things to approach me on.

Hopefully their word-of-mouth will help ramp things up again even if they don't have as much work for you for the moment.
