They had let their wounds healed and had soemhow manage to find themselves here. Bypassingmagical traps and anything that looked suspicious, to behind this building set back in the clifs. Well well, what do you know? Scouting would proove fruitful, as they had found on of the wolf-kin. Didn't smell like a pup, but a wolf was a wolf, wasn't it?
They began to circle around the smell.

Eliot crouched. She had smelt it, she was sure. The jackles where here.
How had they gotten here?
Her nose sniffed at the air, but the wind was against her, she couldn't smell them. She was scared. If there was only one, two even, she could handle that easy enough, but any more than that... and the jackels where nto that stupid, they knew that any of the wolf-kin could take on two Jackles on their own.
Her head snapped around as her eyes turned to gold. There! She could smell them. They had circled her. She was trapped now.
Why? Why where they here? she didn't do anything? She wouldn't attack now unless they attached first. She wasn't here to fight. She had hoped... had hoped the Jackles would no longer care about her and her Kin.
She was wrong. And now she was in trouble.

Three little quirky smiles in the leafless bush, three sets of razor shapr claws ready to strick. And they did. Revealing themselves, they dashed out, feet digging into the soft ground and propelling them forward.
Wolf-kin. They didn't care who she was. As long as died somewhere along the way.
All three reached her in one move, one ounced on her back, the other at her arm, and the last at her leg. Sharp teeth dug into her young flesh.

A look between both Drow with a little smirk and a look in her eyes that said 'tough'. They were just going to have to deal with it, play nice with the other children and suck it up. It was only one meal a night, how bad could is possibly be?Who knows, some of those dishes may turn out exceptionally good. Miracles could happen you know. Then a look to Bode. "And I'm sure we have any ingrediant you'll want. If we don't I'll make sure you get hold of some." So indulging the child. What could she say, brought out the innate mother in her.

Eliot growled but had no where to go. She couldn't single any of them out, they had all pounced at once.
She quickly flowed into her wolf form, she should have done so earlier, the attack would have been easier fo rher. But now they al lhad a piece of her anf where digging their teeth in.
She quickly bit the one on her arm, but the jackle only jumped back into the fary. the one that had a hold of her leg was pulling and tugging, unbalancing her. She tried to flip onto her back, but the Jackle there prevented it.
She barked, and growled. Bit and scratched. But did little to arm them. She could barely stand up. If she were to fall, they mgith attack her belly, and then she would be dead for sure.
she howled, but nothing earth shattering came out. She had never used it before for herself, and she couldn't get her voice to crack their ear drums.
She was getting weaker.

What a glorious fight this was turning out to be, eh? The woudl take down a potential mother of the wolf-kin, which was just a good and dwoing a pup. Her blood poored into their oths, makeing them tear at her in a frenzy of claws and teeth. Things would be all over soon.
Skunk attacthed herself to the back of Eliot's neck, sqeezing with her jaws.

Another look between them as it began to sink in what exactly Zahara had answered about. Malik and Tarathiel had been left alone, and Malik had mentioned it off handishly earlier. Seemed this little war was back at the top of the list of things. And it seemed Malik was going to try and get Zahara in on it too...and being Drow, the girl would of course gleefully join in...especially if she got to 'accidently' hurt Malik. She couldn't deal with that right now. Worry often made her sick and she was sick enough at this particular point in time. Giving a nod to them all, she pushed back from the table and stood, walking out without an excuse. She couldn't think of one at the particular moment so she decided just to not try. Besdies she could find something to occupy her mind.

Malik got himself up, and followed after Piper, laying his hand on her shoulder.
"There are fights coming. and like any war or battle, the removal of suppplies is critical. our enemy literally grows his army. I need to be able to hamper or hinder his ability to do so."
Turning her around, with a slight smirk.
"And if you think I'm going into any kind of fight with that woman and not having you ten feet from her ready to shoot an arrow into the back of her head you are out of you mind."
Onyx and Aella had been reading through the novel for some time, and were getting to one of the more...physical passages in teh book. that gave ony a bit of concern, but he was going to do just as he said and help her read through it, if she coudl make it through the passage.

Casual walking came to s top as a hand touched her shoulder, she didn't have to look to see who it was to know right off the bat. She shook her head lightly. "Did I say anything about it? No, I didn't." But Piper blinked at him as he turned her around to look at him. "Ten feet? That's a bit close range, don't you think?" She was trying not to whine about it all, despite her dislike of it all...thus he was given the mask of indifference from her. "Look Malik...I know whatever I say, it won't matter when it comes to this war we all have on our hands. So I'm merely intending to take the back seat in it where I belong, and going with it."

Bode busyied herself with cleaning up, and day dreamed about cooking future delights.
Aella stopped reading out loud when she realized what was happening in the book, and for some time she just starred at the page. Even reading these herself, in the broken, long way she read, made her uncomfortable. But her cheeks turned red, and she couldn't make herself look at Onyx. "I..uh...I'm not sure I can read on..."

War is coming. like it or not...either I strike soon, and hard, or Tarathiel is going to. and if he does, chances are we're going to get it a lot worse. he's overconfident and reckless. But I want you with me, not here, not waiting to see if I come home. I want your bow and my sword together in the same place."
Onyx gave her a small hug, and grinned lightly.
"Would you like me to read it for you? I could it's not that hard. I kn ow you have trouble with this sort of thing."

She put her hands in her lap. "I'd rather not hear it at all." Gees, adn they wree hardly at the begining of the book, how much more of this was in here? Sometimes, she couldn't udnerstand why there was so much...

"Malik..." Hm, how to put this without sounding like a child about it or like she was worrying too much. "A'mael...I don't think I can. It's...not that I refuse to or that I don't want to...I'm just...apprehensive to put myself in that position when I know I'm weak in that area. You'll be right in the face of the fray...I can't hold my own there. I don't want to hear you're not coming home anymore than you want to see me struck down right at your side from some inexperience error of mine." The thing was, they both knew she'd be right there too, whether in her best interest or not. She'd say she couldn't but the instant distress struck accord across their bond, she'd be right there without concern of herself. Bonds did that sort of thing to you, just as love may you foolhardy.

Eliots voice was choked off when a jackle's jaws closed around her throat.
She oculd't hold herself up any long, and she colapsed onto her stomack.
Her world was going black.

"And we both know you won't let me go alone. that's what we are, a team. a pair, a duo, a couple. I can cover you as you can cover me. Drow are known for our treachery. I'm not going to face a powerful enemy with just Tarathiel and Zahara. or Kimmuriel, as the case may be. I need you there with me. I need your support to face this enemy. I can't trust a drow, but I can trust you."
Onyx tilted his head lightly.
"Well lets try it, shall we? I've read this book before. you might like it. not because of the nature of this interaction, but things around it. as we've read, she's been sold, she's a slave. she's to be trained to pleasure some caliph or the like. and she's none to happy about it."
A small grin.
"this isn't as bad as you think. in fact, I don't think her 'pleasure master' trainer actually gets her for like..several chapters yet."
