The only downside appears to be that the Vulture is a fast skimmer in regular games, not a true flyer. Something my precious Thunderbolt does not suffer from. xd

Lady Blodwynn The only downside appears to be that the Vulture is a fast skimmer in regular games, not a true flyer. Something my precious Thunderbolt does not suffer from. xd Nope, it's still a flyer in normal games. it says that in apocalypse games it is a flyer with hover mode. this means its still a flyer in normal games, just not with hovermode

Nope, new rules clearly state that it is only a flyer in Apocalypse games.

Like with most lighter paints, it requires a buttload of thin layers to get it right. But it is looking okay so far. Still debating whether or not to cover bits of the lower fuselage as well with those wavey bands.

I think Imperial Guard are good though in a sense I think their Tanks are the best in the entire game. Anyone argee with me on this?

Most Imperial Guard players will unanimously agree with you, but players of other armies will probably disagree. As a Guard player myself, I'm a bit split on this opinion, having played a slew of games with most tank variants possible.
On the one hand I find that the Chimera is one of the best transport tanks in the game, granting the player an ideal mix between transport capabilities, weapon systems and special abilities. It certainly beats the Rhino and other transports when it comes down to fire power and usefulness. Plus the Chimera chassis is host to some very effective variants, such as the Hellhound and my personal favourite, the Griffon. heart
On the other hand, while the Leman Russ chassis is a durable and capable gun platform, I feel that the new rules and horrible raises in point costs for certain variants and their upgrades make the tank less effective. Pask does fix things a bit, but I still feel that the Leman Russ is more of an anti-infantry weapon than something I'd throw at other tanks, leaving that job to the more reliable meltagun or a battery of lascannons.
There is a massive pile of other tanks in the Guard motor pool, ranging from the highly useful and cost effective Griffon to the rather pointless Deathstrike. But most of these feel rather tacked on or thrown in just because they could. The Hydra is a great option though, bit pricey but once it gets its own kit it will sell like crazy.
The "best tank in the entire game" is kind of hard to point down. Some will claim it is their Predator Annihilator with lascannon sponsons, others will swear by their Hammerhead with railgun. Opinions differ on the matter. wink

True all their tanks are good in their own way. It just depends on how you use them is what makes them good in your opinion or in your favor as an Imperial Guard player. I myself tend to use alot of their Machines as they provide a better sense of damage. I like the Basalisks for example.

I prefer infantry mostly over vehicles myself, seeing how much more flexible they are in the end. Though if it were up to me I would probably swap lists and go airborne instead, like a certain crazed Guard player around here. whee

well for me I combine both specs to make a deadly force. For me i use my soliders to back up my tanks.

Shouldn't it be the other way round though? Tanks can't capture objectives.

A airborne army, with Valkyries transporting veteran squads with melta guns and such, backed up by some anti-infantry Russes, maybe a Punisher.

Why not go all-out and use the Imperial Armour 8 list instead? wink
Just swap the Russ tanks with Vultures and Imperial Navy strike craft!

But if your opponent won't let you use the list, then you'll have to go back to tanks, correct? I don't have IA8 with me, so I don't know the rules.
