Perhaps they will get some love, though I'm not banking on it, as I'm sure much of the code needs to be re-written given all the forum features that aren't enabled here.

I worry they will throw the baby out with the bathwater. I sincerely hope not, but the concern is there.

That would be a very contentious decision, so I trust they would at least have the sense to cancel such plans when the backlash of such an announcement is made.

I'm just going to leave this here in case you felt like watching it again (they just got it, so i'm watching the subtitled version for the first time): http://www.crunchyroll.com/samurai-troopers

Not bad! I love the Armor of the Ogre, and it began my love of the Ksurigama. Yeah, it did not age well at all . . . but it is a guilty pleasure. mrgreen

Even disregarding my nostalgia for it, I feel it aged a lot better than Saint Seiya, which it was inspired by. They were made in different decades, so that likely has a lot to do with it, as I can't think of any 70s animation aside from Hanna-Barbera & Looney Tunes that holds up nowadays.
Wow, apparently Defender's Quest is engrossing, since my entire evening just disappeared playing it. xp I played it years ago, so I'm surprised I didn't recall it being so addictive.

It is hideously cheesy, and remains a guilty pleasure. Made it a point to download the Crunchyroll app for my PS4 just for this reason. Yes, I will likely look around for other things, too, but damn. Easier than swapping disks from my DVD collection! As for Saint Seiya, I've heard of it, but never seen it.
Don Bluth flims still hold up beautifully.
Not familiar with Defender's Quest . . . I've beaten Dishonored 2 (first run), beat Titanfall 2's single player campaign a second go (still just as enthralling), and am working on a playthrough of the Bioshock collection. I am disappointed in a few of the tweaks, but the story and game still hold up well enough.

CrunchyRoll & Funimation recently partnered, so they have Bebop, some others, and will be getting more of Funi's enormous back catalog in the future. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy.
Good point, they do as well. Actually, 70s western animation overall holds up a lot better than 70s anime, which is funny since the 80s seemed to reverse that to some degree (the old transformers & x-men cartoons are so grainy now).
Defender's Quest is a Tower Defense game. Normally don't care for the genre, but it and a few others I like have persistent RPG elements. Tried to get into BioShock 1, but the uncanny valley with the graphics is jarring to me (older 3d, like Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind, Deus Ex 1, & System Shock 2, look better to me).

I wonder if they will get FMABrotherhood. Time will tell. I don't watch much programming like that anyway. More oft than not, I am watching things on youtube.
Don Bluth had some really dark material that makes it stand out. Things like violence and loss that are more relatable than the sugarcoated and retconned fairy tales of Disney. As for the old Transformers/GIJoe/Mask/He-Man era, yeah. 80s did take a serious hit in their quality. I love TFs with a passion- but even I can't watch the old shows. The movie is good, but the rest never gets watched. Just owned. Quite possibly the only thing of TFs that I have that stays in it's box.
Tower defense is an okay genre. Got my fill of it from Plants v Zombies, however. That game was fun, but I played a ton of it for a long time and now am kinda meh about it.
I never really look at the faces in bioshock, with the exception of the little sisters. Those are the only characters you have any real interaction with face-to-face in the whole game. Many enemies are wearing masks and moving quickly, so facial recognition isn't a high priority. I love the story of Bioshock and Bio 2. Infinite was a bit of a stretch, but I like the alternate realities angle.

PvZ was an okay game; probably the only one w/o RPG mechanics that I liked.
I am pretty familiar with the stories of the Bioshock games since my best friend loved 1 & 2.

SWEET! I stopped watching FMAB because Netflix for some inexplicable reason stopped carrying the final two or three episodes. The rest is intact, but the ending was gone. gone! anime blue-balls, indeed.
PvZ was fun for a while. We even got two copies for our DS's in the house so me and a kid, or the two kids could play vs mode. I just got my fill of it and am somewhat done.
The mechanics are there and the graphics are better. up to 60fps, and that is nice. I am not overly happy with some of the tweaks, though. Still, I am enjoying the playthrough. Done with 1, starting on 2, then will do Minerva's Den, and finish it with Infinite. After that . . . not sure. Might go back and see if I can handle Titanfall 2 on a higher difficulty as I am more familiar with the game mechanics now.

Netflix makes some odd decisions. They also seem to have trouble putting the episodes of newly-added series in proper order (MASH is just 1 example of many, w/ longer running series more likely to suffer from it). I'm glad TitanFall 2 and some others are repopularizing fast-paced movement-based FPSs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2wMQUY2Gw8

While not perfect, I don't have an alternative, and will take it with minimal complaints.
If anything, Doom (the remake) taught me a lot about such things. In that game, you absolutely need to keep moving. Standing still in virtually any combat situation is tantamount to suicide.

Of course, Netflix provides great service and even has some decent original series (Stranger Things). Granted, I do wish they would stop stealing anime from CrunchyRoll.
Doom 4 looks so good. Has a blast watching a LP of it.

It truly was entertaining. Doom (reboot) was great, really engaging soundtrack, controls well, and encourages exploration. I enjoyed the game immensely- and that is without using the online functions. Not much of an online gamer, so the single-player is all I am interested in.
As for 'stealing' from crunchyroll, Netflix has to get licensing to show something. Don't blame the service, blame those selling to it.
