You make it sound like the revised Elysian list is a bother to use. To me personally it's a great release, finally allowing me to field a large airborne wing made up of veterans and support gunships. Especially now that I've got access to some nice Elysian only eye candy for added style bonuses.

You're using an old and obsolete army list.

Just checked what you were taking about, and eep gad! Well, now to start saving for that new imp armour then. Do you know how good the Elysians are under the new rules? Are they still worth playing, or have they been nerfed to hell?

It's the new IG codex, minus all ground vehicles and most other new options, but with Tauros, drop sentinels, Vultures, Imperial Navy strike craft and lots and lots of Valkyries. wink

edit.

HQ.
Command squad with access to most options except for Master of Ordnance and Astropath and can only have carapace armour squad upgrade. They also have the Iron Discipline special rule.

Lord Commissar, can deep strike and can have a homing beacon.

Long Range Scanner, doesn't count as HQ choice.

Elites.
Storm troopers, see codex: Imperial Guard.

Drop Sentinel squadron 1-3 large, no scouts but can deep strike and can move through cover, can have heavy bolter, heavy flamer or multi-melta.

Troops.
Drop Infantry Platoon: 1 command squad, 2-5 infantry squads, 0-4 heavy weapon squads (heavy bolter, mortar or missile launchers only), 0-3 special weapon squads and 0-1 Drop Sentinel squadron.

Veterans squad: Mostly same as codex, only has Forward Observers which grants camo cloaks and a homing beacon.

Fast Attack.
Vendetta squadrons, see codex: Imperial Guard.

Tauros squadrons 1-3, fast, open-topped, can have grenade launcher or heavy flamer. Also has Galvanic Motors, which allow it to ignore an Immobilised result on a 4+.

Tauros Venator squadrons 1-3, fast, open-topped, can have tl multi-laser or tl lascannons, Galvanic Motors.

Cyclops remote demolition vehicle.

Heavy Support.
Vulture gunship, comes with tl multi-laser and hellstrikes. Can have just about anything including tl Punisher cannons and a pile of the old aircraft upgrades.

Elysian Sentry gun battery 1-3 guns, made up of Tarantulas with either heavy bolters or lascannons, has the old firing modes alongside a Planetstrike variant where it can act as an Interceptor gun.

Valkyrie Sky Talon transport (while under Heavy Support when taken it does not take up a slot) that can carry a Tauros, Tauros Venator or two Drop Sentinels.

Imperial Navy air support: Thunderbolt or Lightning.

I did a guard marines vs guard marines I pulled out stormtroopers behind his largest formation of troops and tanks. Well his guys were so closely packed in against the tank I was able to flame them while still declaring the tank was the target. Then I went around behind him throwing grenades into engines and such. My Guard beat down not only the other guard but the advancing marines as well. My side of marines arrived in time to do the cleanup of his guard.

I just found the rules online, and damb. I really like the Taros, especially with the scout rule giving it outflank as well. it would be a great medium support for deepstriking squads, or provide a spearhead from off the side of the board in an objectives game.

Little point to the Sky Talon though, at least in games of <2000pts.

I field most of the more eccentric items mainly because of their coolness factor. The Sky Talon is pretty useless in most games, but it looks so good on the table so why not? Same with both Tauros variants and the Vulture with Punisher cannons really: they look great. pirate

Indeed, twin-linked Punishers eat orks like no tomorrow, real horde eaters! pirate

Wait, twin-linked Punishers? burning_eyes

If your rolls are good enough they should chew through those pesky Orks you face easy enough. Hit on a 4+, wound on a 3+, they save on a 6+ Easy-peasy!

also, gives fits to most eldar as their saves are not that great, and with t3 it is a lot to save rolls, entire squads of precious aspect warriors can melt away in a single salvo
