Mai stood up slowly looking at him.
"you take that from me, only the demon will remain. I told you I was dead when it entered me, it gave my figure life!"

"Well, it just happens to be your luck that I know of something else that will take it's place. Someone I've worked with for years, now, and we've come to know each other well. It was his idea, as a matter of fact." He paused and took a seat.
"He's called The Protector. He's a soul that was sent to watch over me while the Kyuubi infested my body. Make sure it was kept well locked in it's place. Ever since I resealed the Kyuubi, he's been roaming around my soul, making sure I don't kill myself from the inside out. Useful, but he can get on your nerves. What I'm suggesting is transplanting The Protector into your soul, and letting him fight off your demon and take it's place. He would not interfere with your life or your choices. He may give you his two cents, but he will not make your decisions for you.."

"NO! DON'T GET AWAY!" She screamed and this time it wasn't fire that formed with her anger.
A symbol formed on her hand and chakra went around it and sent a blast through the room sending her flying down the hall into the other door and making the place shake. It was one of her past jutsus. She layed there shaking from that hit to the wall and the after effects of using it trying to get up.
She looked at him nervously , as she continued to try to get up.
"you are trying to kill me! you are like them!"
Mai was shaking, she was frightened to death , it was seen in her eyes as she looked at him. After 1,500 years of having the demon, taking it from her was nothing she'd risk.

Seph watched all this with a semi-surprised and semi-blank stare. He nodded his head to the side. "Mai, I'm not forcing this on you." He said, somewhat defensively. "I'm suggesting it. You can meet The Protector if you'd like. He's an O.K. guy, kind of opinionated, but very intelligent and very caring. He's a soul that takes residence within my body, so we're kind of like roommates."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
She forced herself up point her hand at him with her palm flat pointing at him as another symbol appeared black on her hand. Her eyes went black while she stood there and the entire hall went pitch black and eletricity surged through the entire thing shocking everything inside including her and she was curled in a ball to prevent so much damage to herself. If Seph couldn't block it though it could put him in a bad condition from the constant eltric waves flowing through it.
When it finished she was towards the ceiling and fell to the ground with a "Thud" andwas still shaking looking at him as the darkness faded.

Seph sighed softly as the electricity surged through him harmlessly. He remembered vaguely his first Rai lesson: sticking a paper clip into an electrical socket. He'd come a far way in his ascension to Kage Status. One of the many tricks he'd learned was how to use the natural electricity in his own body to deflect or reroute incoming electrical surges.
That's exactly what he was doing now. His electricity would 'grab' the incoming arcs, causing them to trace prearranged paths through his body. In a sense, it was physically charging him up.
He sighed softly as Mai hit the floor. "That was a little melodramatic, don't you think?" He frowned softly. "Like I said, if you wish to leave, feel free. I won't stop you, nor will anyone else. If you feel like growing up, come talk to me. I'll be in the kitchen."
He turned, with that, and walked out of the Ho Dojo.

She layed there crying.
~I'm to weak..... I couldn't help them then! I will never be able to~
For a while she fell deep into thought just laying there in silence, her mind changing its' mind back and forth. Later, she once again woke up looking around seeing the hall remembering.
"I don't even know who I am anymore...am I mai, or the demon.... or was there no mai... and I am the demon... or what if there is no demon and I just think that way and am a freak, wait i always was a freak."
She talked to herself for a minute or two and gave up. Standing up she fell against the wall. She kept herself up by leaning on it for her balance until she regained it herself and walked into the main room.
~'find something you care for and protect it....'
I attack what I wished to protect.. I'm just useless matter here!~
She sat down on the couch again holding her head not knowing what to do, she was fighting herself. Mai walked to the kitchen and hesitated to walk into his view, but finally she did, walking into the kitchen in complete silence.

"What's your decision, Mai?" Seph sat in the kitchen, drinking from a small juice box. Intimidating though it wasn't, he couldn't find anything else.

That was all she said while she stood there. Her blonde hair cascaded down her back and over her shoulders evenly. She stared at him , waiting for what he was going to say.

Seph stood up, walked over to her, and hugged her tightly. He was hoping it wasn't too forward and that she would freak out. Before the hug lasted too long, he pulled away and put his hands on her shoulders, nodding. "Then we'll begin your training in Ho as soon as Nyl shows up. Did you make up your mind on The Protector?"

She looked at the ground when he got up. She wasn't expecting what had happened and stood there surprised looking up at him.
"ok"
Before she went to say something her eyes went black when he brought up 'the Protector'. In a different voice, which was the demons, an ominous soudn came from her mouth.
"if you try taking me out of her, I promise you I'll kill her , then she won't remember you and will do everything possible to kill you!"
The demon hadn't spoken at all the entire time she had been there at any point except to Mai , but took over her body this time to speak and then faded back into her and her eyes changed back.
"no I don't want it....."
That response had come immediatly after the demon. She had obviously been persuaded by it no doubt, but it didn't matter, it was true, no matter what extracting it would kill her.

Sephiroth smiled. ~Don't worry, demon.~ He said in his calmest voice. He was thoughtspeaking directly to the entity within her. Mai would not hear what he said, ~I don't plan on removing you, myself. Remember what the Kyuubi said? We have a fate much worse than death in store for you.~
Seph nodded to her. "Juice box?" He said, motioning to the fridge.

Reeve walks out onto the porch, Mountain Dew in hand. It'd been a long time since he'd done anything of note...and he didn't feel particularly active now, either. Taking a long drought of the godly nectar, Reeve starts walking in lazy circles around the dojo, sentinel of the moment.

"Oof!" He stumbled forward and caught himself before faceplanting into the wall. He blinked and grinned, making his way into the main room.
~I'm hearing that a lot, lately. Another recurring theme is, I don't care what you think or want. You aren't wanted here, and Mai is. I'm afraid I have seniority, and you will eventually be weeded out.~
