-Dessynea- Cabron the Swan -Dessynea- I kind of feel like Owwin does. Though not nearly as down about, I'm pretty used to it since all of my irl friends are extremely talented.
I mean I do sing, and quite well but I would never show anyone that. Cause why would I? I don't write or play music. I tried to learn piano but it was pretty terrible. I know basic chords on the guitar and less than basic chords on the piano and I can't sing two full octaves, come up with catchy hooks, or even read music, and I still show my completely amateur-level music to people and get a generally good reception.
You can't ever know whether or not other people think you're talented if you don't ever ask them. Why do you two reject yourselves before you even give others the chance? :/ I'm not rejecting myself. I just don't write things to show people, other than papers for school which are usually ten pages and boring so who wants to read that? I do sing in front of people, I just don't record me singing because I have no reason to. If I wrote a song then maybe I would, but I haven't (and probably won't) so...
And as far as art goes...yeah...no. I actually do draw some things fairly often but only for work when kids ask me to draw something. And they are so horribly bad it is hilarious. I brought something home after one of the kids colored it for me, and Zach thought the child (a 3-year-old) had drawn it. Which was kind of hilarious actually.
I don't really feel badly about the things I can't do, I mean maybe a little but not very much. You should record yourself, I'd love to hear it sometime. I bet you do have a lot in you to write about, too. And I know you're creative at heart; remember that like, fruit and fondue bouquet you made for your mother that one time? I wouldn't have thought of that. You've got a streak of ingenuity in you, you just gotta find the right creative venue to let it out.
Nobody started off being the best at anything, everyone has to start with a crappy drawing that looks like it was drawn by a 3-year-old. But I bet if you drew, say, 10 of those every day, you'd notice a significant improvement every week, if not every couple of days. And that right there is what matters, not how you measure up to other people. The only difference between you and someone more skilled than you is that they've been practicing longer.
There's nothing you can't do. Just things you haven't learned to do yet. Yourself yesterday is the only person you should be comparing to yourself today.

Owwin I still haven't read that one. Is it any good? Would you recommend it? It has some slow points but I liked it enough. I wouldn't overly recommend it, but if you are looking for something to read then yeah. It seems like something you would like.

Asimov seems like his stuff is kind of boring. Like, Stephen King is slow, but he paints a picture. Asimov is just kinda boring with his stuff. I will try the robot series too, but if I don't like that I might not read anything else by him. I was thinking about looking into discworld too, and The Wheel of Time series just got recommended to me.

Owwin Wantcookie That depends what you mean. xd I just started reading Prelude to Foundation. It is pretty good. It is about a whiny mathematician who discovered a way to theoretically predict the future through probability, and people begin perusing him for the theory. While he is being trailed he is trying to find a way to make his theory work. The thing about saying "Have you read any Asimov" is that he also wrote a ******** of other books, not all of which were fiction. xd The last thing I read by Asimov was an etymological analysis of Greek mythology. xd

I do draw quite a lot, there hasn't been any improvement yet.
I'm not really that concerned about drawing though.

I can't write music for s**t (I don't know the first thing about it, and I always have other things that need doing), but I can sing pretty well. I haven't touched an instrument in a few years though, I should try to get back on that. >_> Ah, but I guess my real strength lies in storytelling. My friends all get really excited when I say I've got a story for them. xd

Cabron the Swan Shiny Gligar Cabron the Swan Shiny Gligar Cabron the Swan So I wrote a song I can't even listen to the playback of without tearing up.
wat do Hmm. What is the cause of the tears? Is it full of faggotry and fail, or is it too magical?
It better be ******** magical, or you're a wimp. No more dicks for you.
ogod my ears
i like it lolo a lot, no really
what're the chords? Have you tried it in different pitches? Like, not your voice, but the guitar.
I wanna, like, make a studio-quality copy and give it to him for Christmas, but I dunno if he'd get mad or not.
Also it's C G Am Am, the 3rd of every group of four repetitions is Am F instead. They'll probably change, I just wanted to get a rough copy somewhere so I didn't lose it completely once I lost my train of thought.
I was thinking about picking them in a very basic arpeggio instead of strumming, though.
If you're going to pick, I'd stick with it as an intro. This song can have a very very kickass build-up into the chorus. I dunno, it's lolo. And drums, and a bass, and it would sound good. :U This isn't just an acoustic song, if you want it to be.
Hrrrnng, I can't get the chords out on my stupid guitar. Things probably tuned a half step wrong, and that would be why. :C No one ever gets my a guitar tuner. I've been playing the guitar for four years, that's eight opportunities for someone to easily get me a ten dollar gift. No, I get a popcorn machine. That sadly broke down, and I'm absolutely certain it was because I used it every single night.

Oh! I know what I'm good at! xd I completely forgot about my radio players. xd I learned from them that I'm impossibly good at being charismatic and leading, but terrible at organizing. Oh, and VA-ing. We ought to voice something someday as a guild, that'd be fun. xd
