Armelle of the Forest *shamelessly writes in paragraphs double ducing all who try to stop it* Omgz I love Andrew Jackson because he's such an unapologetic bamf! He's so hardcore but I don't think I'd ever want to meet him in real life. He'd probably be super hard to get along with. I don't always know how much blame I should place on him for the Trail of Tears... It wasn't really his idea considering he had nothing to do with the Compact of 1802 even though he wound up being the one to put it into motion. (Although I think it was President Van Bueren who actually oversaw the removal.) But I do blame him for not trying to find either a more humane way to see it out if not at least trying to prevent it all together... pfff. you know who was a badass president? Teddy ******** Roosevelt. He was probably kind of crazy, and an imperialist, but at least he wasn't a complete a*****e like Jackson was. Jackson was all like "******** you all I don't like anyone" but Teddy was like "AMURRICAH ******** YEAH BITCHES GONNA PROTECT SOME NATURE UP IN THIS b***h. RIDE INTO ******** CUBA WITH MY BAND OF COWBOYS AND BANDITS, ******** UP SOME SPANIARDS."

*patpats GA's shoulder* Don't be sad... You're not the only one who went along with it so... 6_6;
True. Tennessee, how do you feel about it?
=_=; I-I don't give a damn what happens to Cherokee. If they hadn't tried to kill me maybe I woulda said somethin' to help.
Ahaha... I guess that's kind of true. sweatdrop In TN the Chickamauga wars were still kind of fresh in everyone's minds. Even though TN had basically taken up the policy of "If you leave me alone, I'll leave you alone..." and was tolerant that didn't mean the people had forgotten all the bloodshed and violence. It took a LOT of generations for TN to finally bury the hatchet.
I-I was still kinda upset with the Cherokee but... it was awfully sad to see them go. I missed Chickasaw the most. Q~Q Jackson said Chickasaw had to leave, too, even though we were friends...
In Tennessee there isn't much white guilt over the Trail of Tears other than people being like "Yeah... that really was bad... We can't let something like that happen again." So an acknowledgement to wrongs done and regret but not true guilt, I suppose... =u=;;
But I'm still convinced TN is tsundere for Cherokee~ Those two paired up to fight together in the Creek Wars and later in the Civil War they worked closely together even though they tend to get irritated with each other and squabble over silly stuff.

He's my FAVORITE president ever~ emotion_kirakira (Er... well, FDR gets a lot of love, too, but he just wasn't as straight up cool as Teddy. It's close between them.)
Edit: My all time favs tend to go Teddy ******** Roosevelt > FDR > Andrew Jackson > George Washington and everyone else is there for filler. I have a lot of respect for Lincoln, too, but that sadly doesn't make him a favorite. ^^; Kind of like how I tend to like bad guy characters in anime over the good guys... Just because they're cool.

England had Winston Churchill as their most interesting political leader (in my opinion, although I don't know a ton of English political leaders), and he was mainly interesting for dragging the country through world war II, along with saying hilarious things when he was drunk. Which was most of the time. this is only kind of related, but I love learning about the French Revolution. My history teacher described it as the American Revolution on crack, which is pretty accurate. Anything led by a man who spent his life in a bathtub and that crazy ******** Robespierre has got to be interesting, really. Robespierre loved his guillotine. For some reason I can just imagine him sitting there polishing the blade with a dumb smile like "I love you, inanimate object"

Winston Chruchill~ Didn't he become an honorary American? (of course still British, but I heard somewhere that Americans loved him so much they gave him that honor. Not sure on that one.) I don't think England and America would have the "special relationship" if it wasn't for Winston Churchill. ... *now has weird Hetalia thoughts about Churchill playing match maker between America and England* >_>; Tuaisceart Eireann Anything led by a man who spent his life in a bathtub ....... That's all I needed to hear to suddenly care a LOT more about France's history. emotion_dowant

It wouldn't be hard to find a book or something on the French revolution. And I saw this awesome comic of that once, it was kind of amazing XD
