*Drops in holding a wrapped box*
Ahoy! Did any of you send me this box? It arrived late Sunday night (or really early Monday morning, depending on your time zone). There was also a poem attached to the card. If it was you, please step forward.
While I appreciate a gift as much as the next guy, I have reasons to be suspicious right now. I need to verify the sender before I open it.

You misunderstand the source of my paranoia.
I don't want to be banned for recieving items from hacker/scammer/botter accounts. Normally I wouldn't sweat something like this, but I've had some unwelcome spam recently.

Let's see... Gaia hasn't been cracking down on gifting (has been perusing the report false banning forum, they're more interested in the trading system) and on the off chance that it is, Gaia can trace the IP address and locations of those IP addresses to confirm that you did in fact not transfer the item illegally to yourself. AND the item was not obtained by illegal methods. They do their research before they do individual bannings like this. But they don't when they do mass bannings. So, you're safe.
And besides, boxes are fun to open. Especially when poems are involved.

Well, Reaper and Memo are the last two on my friend list who haven't already denied sending it, and who have been online since then.
At least I won't have the anonymity problem any more. (Changed account settings on gifts)
