yes, but he should have know not to leave stain rags out in the sun. or at least to not leave them near propane tanks.

It tells you on the back of the stain can. and i quote- "Do not leave stain or any non-wood items with stain on them near heat sources, in direct sunlight, or near any type of flame. Stain is heat activated and when in contact with anything other than wood it will combust and burn, risking personal and property damage. Do not leave stain or any non-wood items with stain on them near other items that are flammable. This increases the chances of person injury and property damages and can also lead to death."

like Eevee said when some people don't read ALL the instructions it would be there fault....bad thing yes, but, what can you do when they don't read.
