Andarian's eyes lit up brightly and he threw his arms around Miyuki's waist and hugged her tightly.

"Thank you!" he cried. "I'll go get my bag!"

And he turned and ran back into his own room to grab his bag before taking it to Miyuki's room.

"Don't be too long," Earendil cautioned the children as he came out of his and Lin's room. "Dinner will be shortly. You'll be meeting the rest of the family then."

He glanced at Lin. It would mean meeting his father again, and he had no idea what to expect from that direction.

"Okay!" Andarien replied, opening his bag and looking for some clean clothes. He set the large, dark goggles aside, intending to take them with to dinner. He hadn't had a problem yet with anyone being too bright, but if his parents said that there would be more people coming to dinner, it was possible that someone who came might be bright. He didn't know the way to their bedchambers yet, and he didn't want to have to leave dinner to get the goggles if he needed them.

He changed his clothes quickly, putting on his nicest set of clothes (which were his last clean clothes). Then he went back to the door. "I'm ready!" he announced to whoever was listening.

Andarien blinked at Miyuki. "Wash?" he repeated as if he'd never heard of the word. "What do I need to wash?"

He looked at his hands. He had mostly been in the wagon, and he hadn't gotten dirty on anything that he knew of ... why would he need to wash?

Of course, he had no idea of the sand that was in his hair, or under his fingernails, or anything like that.

Andarien fumbled the brush and it to the floor. As he bent down to pick it up he said, "But I can't brush my hair ... will you do it for me?"

Pretty typical for a boy.

He picked up the brush and headed back to where Miyuki was.

Andarien sat still for Miyuki as she brushed his hair, and when she was finished he bounced back to his feet again.

"Can we go down for dinner now?" he asked eager, eying the door as if ready to make a break for it whenever Miyuki gave the word.

Andarien pouted. "But I want to meet Neko and Uncle Aranel!" he protested. "I want to see if they're as nice as Nako and Aunt Tinuviel and Uncle Daeron!"

He didn't care about being late, he wanted to be early! He wanted to meet the rest of the family as soon as possible!

He paused. If Miyuki was going to be longer, maybe he would have the time to do something while he waited.

"Can I play with my blocks then?" he asked her, eying his bag.

And so Andarien played with his blocks until Miyuki was finished getting ready for dinner.

A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door. Earendil and Lin were ready, and had come to collect the children.

"Miyuki? Andarien?" Earendil called softly through the door. "Are you ready?"
