I'm sure that's true, but it's not fair to shove someone else's faults down their throat without acknowledging your own. *shrugs* Well, assuming Northern Ireland was around when regular Ireland was picking on England. (Actually, wasn't it just Scotland and Wales who have been credited with picking on England? I don't remember if Ireland has even been mentioned in Hetalia.)

Well yeah, the Irish were violent to the English, but they had damn good reason for it. And yeah, innocent people did die, but that was on both sides. It's inevitable that both sides do wrong, obviously. The main problem was that the English just wouldn't leave the Irish the ******** alone. They saw them as inferior, and maybe they were sincerely trying to help them in some cases. But they went about it very wrong, and just ended up screwing everything up. Although, I'm over simplifying this, and I still haven't done enough research into it to argue my point properly anyway. I'll just drop it before I say something wrong, or just get into an actual argument, because that would be kind of rude and unnecessary.

lol You don't have to worry about offending me when it comes to discussing history. I won't get upset or anything like that. I'm a pretty easy going person and don't get angry easily. cool

XD ok, good. Sorry I just chucked entire paragraphs of words at you, by the way.
So you like history, too? *flail* I kind of ******** love history. I have a small collection of historical books, and I intend to read every single one of them. XD

Do I like history? Psh! That's why I'm always randomly ranting about weird colonial/civil war facts. xp Although my specialty is American history (early American history to be precise) I know next to nothing about European history aside from the things that affected the colonies. (And even then my knowledge is sort of limited to the effects things in Europe had on said colonies)

XD I see. Colonial American history is definitely one of my favorites, but European history will always be my favorite obsession. eue
There are a lot of places whose history I wish I knew more about, like Asia and South America, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. My main career goal is to become a museum curator, probably for some European museum. So that's why I'm so obsessed with it XD
do you like, have some kind of historical career goal or is it just an interest?

I would love to have a history career, but there aren't a lot of stable jobs out there in this economy, so it's more of a hobby. One day I would love to do something with my love of history, though. Maybe whenever the economy/job market recovers I'll look into it.

Yeah, that makes sense. I'm probably going to get a second job if being a curator can't pay enough, but if nothing else works then I'll just be like "******** it I'm opening a pub" XD at least those will always be around, no matter what the economy's like.

XDDD yessss that would actually be pretty fun. None of the stupid cheesey decorations that are in the Irish pubs we have in America. Those are just obnoxious and kind of stupid. XD

I have a friend who always goes to an Irish pub for St. Patrick's Day and pretends to be Irish to get free beer.... but there's NOTHING Irish about him. He's a legit Native American (1/4 at least) and looks a lot like it. xd

XDD that's kind of awesome. My boyfriend could totally pull it off, and he probably would if he were old enough to drink. So wait, does that actually work for him? Because that would be pretty great if it did. Honestly, I would probably do it, too. Although I'm better at doing a Scottish accent than an Irish accent.

Well, I don't know if he's actually fooling anyone or not, but he gets free beer. I think they might just be like "You earned this for being balsy enough to try!" The closest thing I can do to any sort of Scottish accent is a Shawn Connery impression. xd I'm just too country for me to properly imitate other accents.

pfffft I love Sean Connery. He always sounds Scottish, no matter who he's playing. In Highlander, he was a Scotsman, playing an alien, pretending to be an Egyptian, pretending to be a Spaniard. It was basically the most hilarious thing ever to hear him say "Haggis? What's haggis?"
also, those bartenders are pretty damn cool either way.
