The blade itself is sheathed by a plasma edge that makes it act much like a lightsaber... at least on the side the edge is on.

Basically a lightsaber with a blade behind it so it doesn't classify itself as purely energy.

It also gives the blade weight making it a hell of a lot easier for NFU's to wield.
A lightsaber with just one cutting edge, what a concept!
I'm working on pulling together an overview of the hand weapons of the Rapora, or maybe I should call it weapons of the Blood Claw Pirates because I'm going to have them equipped with hybridized Raporan-Conventional weapons.
