I'd rather see a Catachan Devil boxed set, they are a better choice than storm troopers for those Rambos.

Why dont do both Cadian veterans and Deathworld Veterans set? Plus maybe another one IG regiment - just regular, heavy weapons, command squad (and maybe veterans to go along) (cough, longcoats, cough, please?)

All the standard sets really need is an upgrade sprue with shotgun arms, demo charges, properly grizzled heads and some other regiment specific bits. Maybe another sprue of plain non armoured arms and bare heads for penal legion kits.

Arms holding weapons without the clunky Cadian shoulder armour would be a great idea, not just for Penal Legionnaire models, but also for officers, specialists and other personal that don't really need them. Why didn't they just do arms without them and instead just provide the kits with pads like in the vehicle kits.

Why didn't they just do arms without them and instead just provide the kits with pads like in the vehicle kits. For one, they'd have to redo several molds, and for two, gluing on shoulder pads individually to the models that you'd want them on would be a pain in the rear. sweatdrop

Maybe, but the separate shoulder guards actually look a whole lot better than the ones that are moulded on. Cadians could do with a general redesign in my opinion, the technology certainly allows for it.

GW's trend with Imperial Guard infantry seems to have been to introduce a new faction of IG minis like the Vostroyan line, rather than fixing the older ones.

The Vostroyans were a welcome addition though, a good blend of classic uniforms with the gothic sci-fi of the 40k universe.
I'm hoping we'll see Valhallans being turned into plastic in a few years from now, greatcoats would be a great addition to the regular Cadian kits.

Just give us a Valhallan boxed set with fur hats, I'm pretty sure other companies can provide us with those other heads. wink

They need to do more female guardsmen, the novels are full of them!

I'd rather see models that are less butch and have a more female face, instead of GW's horrible attempts at them. Something like this:

Nice IG-Jane, the model I mentioned was directly inspired by Vasquez "have you been mistaken for a man?" from the Aliens, so no wonder she's on the muscular side...

The Catachan she-male aside, GW does have some trouble sculpting female faces properly.
