He didn't deviate off of the baseline and he wasn't tagged out. Totally legit. I've done similar things in the past, though not quite so spectacular.

best iv'e ever done was to hit the ball so it kinda spiralled through the air, it spun/bounced violently out of 2 catchers hands before landing, so i had enough time to score a home run.
good times in PE baseball.

This one time, in soccer baseball I broke the pitchers nose. Sorta my fault, it took a funny spin just before it got to me and I toed it so it curved right into his face. Was a beauty of a shot though.

How shocking was it? i jumped a bit, which in turn make her jump, and then i had to roughly explain that i sort of vaguely know you, and then she was all "oh, shes pretty!" and holding a Mens magazine flipping through photos of you... to be honest, i got sort of embarresed by the whole thing (and my GF's blatant disregard for being in public looking at a porn mag! XD) and started flipping through kids magazines for fun, like Bob the Builder Magazine, get in!!!
