Sammy looked over at Maddy. "I believe that question depends on the level of affection you return for your parents," she pointed out. "However, from a personal stand point, I believe having dead parents would be the worse of the two," she added, not even a hint of sadness in her voice from her own personal experience with a parent's death.

"Hmmm... I hated my mom. She made my life hell so I ran away from home. And I love my dad. But... he left. Of course, thanks to my sister you all already know that." Maddy said, closing her hand over the ball of flame she had been playing with, causing it to disappear. Her eyes lightened a bit, indicating she was a tad bit angry.

Sammy figured it was her turn to share. "I am fond towards both of my parents, but unfortunately I indirectly caused my father's death and for a good while after suffered from remorse and guilt. With a bit of research I found a more than adequate solution," she stated, and gestured towards her rather calm demeanor. Emotionalism screwed life up, that was for sure. "Fortunately, though, both my mother and brother still remain, and I continue to feel affection for them."

Sammy nodded in acknowledgement. "For some reason, I get the idea that Maddy is a rather unsympathetic person..." She observed, rubbing her temple idly. Perhaps she would experiment more with her electricity now.

Arekku cautiously stepped into HQ through the teleporter, his face was tear streaked and very, very sad. He took a few sloppy breaths, trying to calm himself, and walked to a chair in the back of the room.

Maddy was sitting in her usual corner on the ceiling, masked by shadows. She seemed to be in a meditative state. "..."

Arekku looked through tear blurred eyes, "I'm alone..." He said just before giving up the brave act, he began balling again, like he had so many times the previous night after reaching his family's grave site.

Sammy stepped in, raising a curious eye brow at the people in the room. "I believe now would be an adequate time to prepare the decoration of the tree, am I not correct?" she questioned, deeply concerned that Arekku might have an even further emotional breakdown without some sort of distraction.

Maddy sighed frustratedly, and opened one eye, peering at Arekku. She just stared at him, hoping he'd quiet down. "..." Her open eye was a light purple color.

Sammy observed Maddy's bahavior. "Once again I suggest that Maddy is an un-sympathetic being," she noted, mainly to herself. With that she walked over to where a tree had been dragged in, examining its branches.

Maddy had both eyes open now, both light shades of purple. "Well, I'm not gonna be sympathetic when I kill you all, that's for sure. 'Cuz I warned you all over and over what was gonna happen, so if it happens now then I guess it's your own fault."

Arekku heard Sammy's and Maddy's voice and snapped his head up, his tears had stopped flowing by then. "Uh-uhm... Hi Sammy..." He muttered and put his head down. Now he had to hide his crying, he sat very still, only every now and then would a sob break his silence.

"While I do not believe anyone is at fault here, I do admit that it is at our disgression to have you remain in our company," she stated lightly, dragging the Christmas tree with little effort to the center of the room. She then began to lightly fluff the branches. "However, given your own situation, I find it slightly unnerving that you do not feel at least a fraction of sympathy for Arekku's situation," she commented dryly. Sammy felt badly for Arekku, it was just... harder to notice, in a way. She sent a glance towards Arekku, but she didn't know if it would be right to comfort him or just sweat it out for awhile.

Tommy walked in to see the usual cast of people around: Sammy, Maddy, and Arreku. "Yo." he said as he plopped ontot the couch. He hadn't heard the previous conversation, so he just started whistling.
