They reached the end of the road, the only turn was right, and Luca took it. "Next diner we see, we're stopping to eat," he announced.

"What if there aren't any?" Lori asked. They'd passed a few places, but none of them were diners. It was clear that they could hear each other over the wind, so that was good. It was probably the elf in them.

"Then I'll have to find something else to feed you," Luca said, looking at Lori. His grin was unrepentant.

He made a little 'o' face and laughed. Well then! That was unusually bold for his love! He had no doubt from Luca's expression that he meant something explicit.
"How good are you at distracted driving?"

"We'd end up in a ditch," Luca admitted. "Or worse," he said, looking for a diner. No luck. He continued driving, pausing when he caught sight of a promising looking cafe. "Looks good," he said. "Hungry?" he pulled into a parking spot.

Lori tutted and shook his head. "Your loss."
He had actually never experienced the thing which he was implying, not from either end, but it seemed appropriate to offer at the time. Lori turned to see the cafe and nodded. You never knew how homo-friendly a place would be, especially out here in No Man's Land, but it was worth a go. Nobody was going to screw with ether of them.
"Sure, let's do it."

Luca smirked and leaned over to kiss Lori. He climbed out of the car, waiting for Lori and offering him his hand. "I bet they've got some kind of sandwich," He said.

Lori returned the kiss and then took Luca's hand.
"I'm sure they do," he said, "I mean... most cafes do tend to have them..." Luca was saying the strangest things! "I'd take my hat off, but I think my hair's probably a mess."

Luca paused. The one he normally went to mostly served coffee, ice cream, and sweets. "You're fine," he assured Lori, going to the door marked OPEN and going inside. He read the menu, which was neatly written on a whiteboard.

He couldn't help himself. He wrapped an arm around Luca while they both looked over the menu. He really wasn't all that hungry but he was never one to deny a pastry. he waited for Luca to order before adding his own, and then pulled out his wallet to pay.

Luca ordered a turkey sandwich and a raspberry tea; and looked expectantly towards Lori. "What Would you like, love?" He asked.

Lori went for a danish and a black tea, ordering while he fumbled with his wallet, and then offered the cashier the money, hopefully before Luca could stop him.

Luca didn't try to stop Lori, but he was frowning slightly. "You don't always have to pay," He muttered. He waited for his sandwich and went to find them a table. He chose a table close to a window.

"I don't always pay," he said. Of course he usually did, but that was beside the point. He made more than Luca, and they hadn't talked about merging their bank accounts or anything. Besides, it was just a sandwich and some tea. He followed Luca to their table and immediately after sitting down wrapped his feet around Luca's ankles.
"I don't even know where we are."

"You pay ninety percent of the time," Luca grumbled. He seemed to forgive Lori by the time they were sitting down, though. "Me either," he said. "Its exciting, though, isn't it? Being able to get lost somewhere so close to home."
