Sammy acknowledged Maddy's statement with a quick nod, darting forward to avoid one of the little pokemon grabbing her ankles. She took out a pokeball, ready to fight these nasty little things.

The two swooped down, as they came down, Aro spread his wing out wide. The wing on his right glowed brightly and knocked over a Sableye. Arekku hopped off Aro and asked the obvious question, "Are we allowed to catch one?" The enemy Sableye stood up grumbling and began charging an air of hateful energy between it's hands. The attack shot out in a Dark Pulse attack.

Sammy shot Comet a quick glance as they approached a Haunter, signaling for him to go ahead and make the first move. He nodded only slightly in response, his eyes flashing purple. The same purple glow also surrounded the Haunter in an instant, sending it flying towards one of the burning houses and into the smoke. It quickly flew out, obviously angered by this attempt at its defeat. Its eyes turned dark as it used a Night Shade, which did considerable damage since Comet was actually pretty high in level. The Alakazam grimaced, deciding that he needed to be more careful about his approach to this pokemon. His next move was to let out a colorful beam of light at Haunter, otherwise known as Psybeam. The blues and greens and purples and other colors swirled into a combination, forming a very strong natural force that pushed Haunter backwards and into the ground. Now he was really, REALLY mad. And, to reflect its madness upon the foe, it returned the favor by using Payback, doing twice the amount of damage that Comet had just done to it. Comet was now heaving on the ground, surprised that his foe was actually this strong. Unfortunately for the Haunter, though, Comet was quite good at compensating. Comet used another Psychic attack, quickly flinging Haunter into the nearby woods and out of harm’s way. That battle had been won, but they soon found themselves confronted yet AGAIN by another foe.

This one was a Shuppet. Returning Comet, she instead swapped out so that Squirt was in the front and ready to lead. The pokemon whipped up a nasty-looking Hydro Pump, causing the Shuppet to squeal as it felt both the water of the attack and the fire that he had been thrown into working on his body at the same time. The pokemon shook himself, obviously already badly hurt. He lunged forward, a purple glow surrounding him as he used a Faint Attack. Although the attack’s namesake suggested it, Squirt, in fact, did not faint. Squirt knew that this would be all too easy, so he prepared a Water Pulse… but the Shuppet attacked first with a Shadow Sneak! Squirt was sent backwards into the wall of a burning building, a few pieces of cement falling on the poor pokemon’s head. Now he was pissed. In response, Squirt released a large Water Pulse like originally planned at the Shuppet and it finally gave in. Squirt grinned triumphantly, and Sammy watched as the other battles unfolded.

She wandered over to Ginji. "Are you quite alright?" she questioned, seeing that Arekku was still in the midst of battle and Maddy was still having some... family issues?

Aro took the Dark pulse with minor damage, allowing himself to fall back onto the ground. With a simple turn he was back on his feet the tip of one wing on the ground in from of him. It made him look like he was a football player. His feet gripped the ground the very second before he flew into a powerful Iron Head attack, his head shimmered with steel energy and he hit the enemy Sableye hard enough to cause a major flinch.

Aro quickly did a loop in the air and came barreling down toward the enemy with gaping jaws. Sableye couldn't dodge and was taken out with the Crunch attack.

A Haunter came out of practically nowhere and used a Hypnosis on Aro, putting the Arodactyl to sleep. Arekku returned his pokemon before the enemy had a chance to use Dream Eater. Haunter tried to suck the energy out of the air that Aro had once been in.

"Go, Zoey!" The Zubat came flying out of the pokeball and conjured a powerful ball of energy in it's mouth, launching it at the foe Haunter in a Shadow Ball. It hurt the enemy quite a bit but had been shrugged off. Haunter launched the shadows of its hands at Zoey as fists in a Shadow Punch attack. Zoey fell back some but had still been hit by one of the fists.

Zoey circled around Arekku once and used an attack that Arekku remembered paying a friend to help her learn. She got very close to the enemy and powerfully beat the foe with her entire body, Brave Bird. Of course it forced her to receive a little damage. haunter hit the ground and started to get back up, Arekku was too quick, he tossed a Great Ball.

.......ding! the Haunter had been caught. Arekku quickly caught up with the group, he knew he'd taken too long.

Sammy gazed from Courtney to Maddy to Courtney once more. "I do not find this as sufficient evidence to slaughter Maddy. Just because you are both sisters and one of you happens to have the more shadowy side does not mean that the prophecy is correct. While it is a possibility, I find it highly unreasonable to kill her based solely on this," she concluded, taking an instinctive step forward. A spark of electricity jumped from her tail to her shoulder, but this time it didn't hurt. The adrenaline was flowing.

"Oh, please. You want more evidence? Fine." Courtney glanced over her shoulder to glare at her sister and then looked back at Aqua. "You want to know why Maddy's body could survive, although just barely, the affliction of the Shadow Virus? It's because of the demon blood that runs in her veins. In our veins."

Maddy shook her head. "No!! Shut up right now! You've said enough! Don't tell them anything else!!!"

Courtney ignored her. "And our Father... He left because he felt that the 17 were tracking him. And he was right, they were. He sent Mother letters everyday, telling her to take the family and move for he feared they would find us. Of course, Maddy had run away from home by then, so when Mother actually revealed the secrets of our blood I was the only one around to learn of it. Mother knew all along what Father was."

Maddy held her head in her hands. "NO!! SHUT UP!! IT'S NOT TRUE!!"

"What in the bright shiny hell?"

Kail, icy blue eyes confused but stubborn, had darted up to the scene. Onii was perched on his shoulder He wasn't entirely sure how he'd gotten there- he blamed his sixth sense, tugging him in this direction like there was something important to see. Sammy was the only one he knew at all, but his question was directed at everyone: "What's going on, and can I help?"
