Ashly-Bloodmoon quick question. Im currently building a new imperial guard army, and i heard rumors of being able to field two squads of another army, ( space marines for example ). is this rumor true, or am i being told lies again lies..

only allies available are via inquisition codices, and this may be soon gone if new inquisition codex will show up

however, if you play it as apocalypse, then you can use whatever.
my traitor guard uses the standard guard codex, but in apoc i also use a Huron Blackheart counts-as chaos marine and a unit of Chaos Khorne Demon Hound Things... oh, and a Thunderbolt Fighter

ok, now im having even more trouble.. i have 40 troops at my disposal, but only one platoon command squad.
so, i need help making 10 of those troops into a veteran squad,
Ive already given half of them respirator things out of the command spruce. and 3 others have vox caster heads.
I might add the backpacks from the heavy weapons teams to 4 of them, seeing as i have that many, and also a melta gun from the command spruce aswell.
any other ideas and no,i dont want any more heavy weapons in the squad, i want to be able to use the squad as normal cadians when get enough troops,
( say, about 100 for 2 platoons )
current army:
two leman russ ( basic with heavy bolter sponsons )
30 troops ( 2 grenade launchers, 1 flamer, 3 vox )
10( to be ) veterans ( ??? )
1 chimera ( multi laser, heavy flamer )
3 heavy weapons teams ( 3 auto cannons )
2 command squads ( 1 hq, 1 platoon )
2 scout sentinals ( 1 heavy flamer, 1 lascannon )
1 armored sentinal ( auto cannon)

hmmm, do you intend any special upgrades on them? (sentries, demolitions?)
if yes, do appropriate modelling - demo charge or cloaks, this is quite easy way of distinguishing veterans smile

(sentries, demolitions?) if yes, do appropriate modelling - demo charge or cloaks, this is quite easy way of distinguishing veterans smile unfortunatly i dont have any demo parts, or any cloaks... i was thinking more along the lines of tank hunters, because of the melta gun im putting in, and mounting in a chimera so, probably demolition now that ive read the codex a little.. if i had the parts >.<

My veterans have camo jackets to represent their cloaks, easy to do and it fits in well enough. wink

cloaks can be made from tin foil, and demo charges from converted backpacks...

Hydras actually are probably going to be tied with the BA Storm Raven dropship for a double release (it is a great marketing move to sell booze and hangover remedy in one package) razz
