Lori leaned over, one hand on Luca's leg, and kissed the other man soundly on the cheek. This was love. This was real, true, forever love and he never wanted to be without it. They reached a stoplight and finally the two could make eye contact. Lori's face was happy, but entirely contented. His eyes were full of affection.
"I love you," he said, because at the moment the wind wasn't garbling speech.

The stoplight was honestly a relief. He leaned over and kissed Lori properly. "I love you too," he said, smiling at him as it broke. Was this light a timed one or a trigger? It didn't matter. He was with Lori.

Lori let the kiss on the lips linger, even briefly adding his tongue, before he opened his eyes. Oops.
"Green!" They were lucky there was nobody behind them!

Stupid light! Luca muttered an elvish curse under his breath, quickly turning on the left turn signal and turning. Hopefully they'd hit another red light.

Lori laughed at the curse and slung an arm around the back of Luca's seat. There would be more red lights and more stop signs, and it seemed like the roads they had taken were fairly uninhabited, so that was good. They could take their time, or even speed a bit if they wanted.

Luca was still frowning when Lori put an arm around the back of his seat. "Well, this looks like a quiet part of town," He observed, briefly looking to Lori. He wanted to pull over. To kiss the guy senseless--but , he'd been the one to suggest the drive.

Again he was amused by his lover's desire to stop and kiss over continuing the drive, but he gave Luca's shoulder a little rub and pointed in the direction they should go next. They were getting further and further from town and the streets Lori was familiar with. He rather liked it.

Luca turned in the direction indicated, and he was smiling again. The road he turned on was unfamiliar to him; it was nice. An adventure! "We should go on a road trip sometime," He suggested. "See the sights, make fun of tourists. Maybe this summer?"

"Sure," Lori agreed. He nodded and smiled to Luca. "We'll just have to plan ahead. It's hard to get time off as the head of a department." It shouldn't be too bad, though. His 'lieutenant' was damn good at keeping tabs on things when he wasn't around himself.

Luca smiled. "We're planning now," he said. He went down the road as far as he could before turning left again. He stopped at a stop sign and looked to Lori. "Maybe in August?"

"Sure, August. Mid-August?" Lori asked. His gaze remained on the man beside him. "How long do we want to spend?" A proper road trip took months, but they could fit a miniature one in in a week or two.

"Mid August? We could go for a week," he smiled and took off again. He turned left, looking around. "There's a park over there," he noticed. "Want to stop?"

"That sounds good," Lori agreed. He turned in the way Luca was looking and eyed the park. Stop? Why? They didn't serve lunch at parks.
"If you want to."

Luca paused, thought about it and shook his head. He leaned over and kissed Lori's cheek. "I wonder how far this road goes?" he drove off, speeding slightly.

"I don't know--" and then he laughed as they sped up. It was a good thing the road was empty!
