"What's the matter? Are you afraid to face me? Are you all talk and no action? I hate people like you." Nebride flipped her sais around. "You think you're big and tough, but you are really only a insecure, little boy."
The dragon moved slightly behind her. It knew that she wanted it to stay between Gwendar and Lord Valco. It would keep Gwendar away without burning him.
"What do you say Lord Valco? Are you willing to fight me?"

her insults didnt so much insult him but anger him.
"Insecure little boy u say?" he said with a ghoulish laugh
how dare she imply such a thing. she obviously had no idea who she was talking to.
"hahaha fight please this will hardly be a fight......i prefer the term slaughter"
he took a glance at the black flaming dragon standing behind her.
elven magic he thought.
what a perfect way to show my power.
he raised his hand and slowly from the ground beneath him the same barbed chains appeared.
they stretched and clustered forming the shape of a terrifying creature.
it had a long body like a snake. but the top half of the creature was simply 8 large claw like talons spreading out from a single point.
sensing the danger the dragon lept for the beast.
the two creatures tussled and fought.
the dragon vomiting flame onto the dark creature.
nothing seemed to effect it.
soon the creature rapped its body around the dragon who was now desperately trying to bite the beast.
soon the 8 legs wrapped themselves around the head of the dragon clenching its jaw shut around its own tail.
it wasn't long before the dragon stopped moving and thrashing.
instead it seemed to yelp as the beast continued to rather then just kill the beast just apply more and more pressure onto the poor animals head.
"aah haha. tell me would a little boy do that?" he said laughing at Nebride
"would a little boy convince the emperor that a small elven village near a special pond was a great threat and need to be destroyed ahahaha"
he saw how Nebrides attention turned to his.
"oh yes i know alot about you now.....thats why i need you. i need someone so i can use that bloody lake." he said more menacingly
"however if u wish to fight me haha then by all means go ahead" he said
hahaha always let them strike first......there weapons wont hurt me.....not unless there enchanted by the witch hunters

he shouted
"Dont strike him" he pleaded
he knew her weapon wouldnt hurt him.
he had been taught many things about black magic.
in rare cases dar sorcerers would completely give up there normal body's and instead replace it with a manifestation of black magic.
normal weapons would simply pass through him. leaving the wielder open to any number of counter attacks.
"use my halberd it can hurt him!!" he yelled
all witch hunters weapons were enchanted but not by normal means.
every one was enchanted by bonding the soul of a man to it.
the man would willingly give his life to the weapon in order to give it its power.
it seemed barbaric now but the weapon was the only thing he had that could wound this monstrosity.

he couldnt decide which hed rather look at the beautiful scenery or Gren.
"sooo Gren what do you think of that witch hunter?" it seemed like a good topic at the time.
truth be told he didnt really know what to think about him.
he was far to busy worrying about how he would impress Gren.

Nebride's anger was boiling over the edge. Her anger was so great that her appearance began to change. Her silver hair suddenly had electric blue streaks in it and her eyes were a full-blown, blood red.
"You--you are the reason my parents are dead and we lost our home? All of this is your fault! My people have hated the emperor for nothing!" Nebride held out her hand and Gwendar's halbred flew from his hand to hers. "You will pay for this treachary."

the chain beast moved in front of him practically begging for Nebride to attack.
meanwhile he also drew his weapon
a large mace swirling with black energy.

"If not by my hand--someone elses you will." Nebride looked up at the sky. "You need help getting into the powers of soul lake, yes? Well I guess that's just too bad for you. I will not help you and neither will my people. My people may be the only ones who know how to use it, but I'm the only one who can get outsiders into the village. And I will die before I allow you access."
The wind began to pick up and Nebride chuckled. "It's been a while since I've had a decent fight." She flipped the halbred easily in her hands. "You're not attacking? Having second thoughts?"
"There's no way I'm attacking first. Does he think I'm an idiot? I know exactly what he's trying to do. He wants me to attack first so he'll have the upper hand. There's no way I'm giving him that."

"HAHAHA...very well i shall make the first move" he said bowing
with that hte mighty beast lept at Nebride.
however Gwendar soon lept onto the back of the beast.
"GO ILL HANDLE THIS THING!!" he shouted
he was stabbing furiously at the beast back.
it didnt seem to hurt it but it wasnt attacking Nebride now and that was his plan.
"hahaha prepare to feel the true power of BLACK MAGIC!" he shouted
several twisted shapes burst from the ground
they were shaped as humans but moved as if they were in constant pain.
"hahaha who said i needed you to access the village ill just take your body...theres more then one way to force a person to do something"

"You will not!" Nebride jumped out of the way of the twisted shapes. "You obviously know nothing about my people! When a shaman is killed and their magic is trying to be used--it will not work!" Nebride's own shadow shapes came out of the ground. "Our magic goes from us and passes to another! They have all our memories as not to fall into the same trap. So, go ahead and kill me, but you still won't get what you want. A shaman's body is protected by even greater magics than DARK or SHADOW magic."
Nebride whipped the halbred around and cut through the twisted shapes. "You may be more powerful than me, but that does not matter. The more power you have does not mean you'll win in the end."

he watched as she diced his minions.
"see i plan on first capturing you....then after a little fun im going to let all of the creatures uve killed so far do whatever they like to you."
he was thinking over his cruel plans in his mind.
"oh yes death isnt going to happen to you for a long time"
he said in a mocking tone
she finally got close enough to attack him.
he simply moved aside.
he seemed to glide more then walk or run.
"haha your pathetic" he said summoning more and more creatures
they didnt so much pose a threat but the shear number of them was starting to overwhelm Gwendar and Nebride.
the creatures were swarming over the chained beast just to get at Gwendar.
and nebride couldnt move a step without first having to cut her way there.

"You think I'm assuming you're going to kill me? Do you think I'm an idiot? I know the ways of man--torture to get what you want--then kill when you have received it. I've been around men long enough to know that."
Nebride held out a hand and a ball of light appeared in it. She threw it out and it completely swamped the monsters around her and the ones trying to get to Gwendar. They were obliverated into dust.
"Even if you do torture me--you still will not get what you want."

"hahaha. you may understand man - torture.......but you have no idea of the fear and the pain that lurks in the darkness" he said raising his hand
at that moment several chains burst from the ground and grabbed gwendar hurling him into a tree.
"im sick of these games" he said
the beast now turning on Nebride.
"and i told you already why would i ever kill such a beautiful play thing" he said laughing.
the mighty beast lunged at nebride.
its many claws not trying to injure her but tangle and wrap around her.
the barbs on teh chains cut into her skin but with the halberd she cut them off.
they simply regrew but she may be able to hold it off.
"yes im definably going to have fun with you" he said in a more cold quite voice

"gyashe ta!" Nebride growled as the beast's claws kept on growing back. "Gwendar, please be okay." She glanced over at Gwendar, but that was a mistake. As soon as she looked away the beast lunged and grabbed her.
"traako," Nebride howled in frustration. She tried to break free, but it was no use. "Let me go!"

"hmmm no" he said mockingly
the beast squeezing her.
"first were going to travel to you little lake..........then im going to make you pay for this wasted time and then..........well youll find out" he said with a horrid laugh
the beast started to form chains all over her body.
valco disappeared completely the beast moving of slowly further into the forest.
Gwendar:
"NOOOO damb it"
he could barly move
"SHOW ME WHERE TO FIND YOU" he shouted
he tried so hard to try to crawl back to camp to find help. but it was no use
"I LOVE YOU NEBRIDE I WILL FIND YOU!!!!!!"
he said before collapsing on the ground.
he had many wounds
hed been stabbed twice from the human like creatures and the thrashing by the chain beast left many bones broken.

The three spirits looked at each other. Two of them disappeared to follow Lord Valco and Nebride while the last walked over to Gwendar. When he spoke, his voice echoed.
"I am the spirit of Jeroviah--Nebride's last lover. You truely love her, yes? I can help." His shadowy hand passed over Gwendar's wounds healing him. "I cannot do much, but I can heal you." He knelt by Gwendar. "I still remember the way to Soul Lake. I will give you the knowledge, but you cannot go there by yourself. Find the girl, Gren, and take her with you. And for you--some of the elven magic." Sparks flew from the spirit's hand and into Gwendar. "Now you will be better prepared. I will be by your side the whole way. Now--go and save the woman we both love."
