[Awesome post!!! heart ]

Andou stopped when he saw a Hoshigaki boy and greeted him back with a nod. And then he looked thoughtfully at him. "You wouldn't be Hoshigaki Bansame, would you," he said thoughtfully, looking the child up and down. He was a true Hoshigaki all right, blue skin and gills and all, even with a small fin on his back, if Andou had correctly guessed what that lump was. He looked like he had potential, and well, maybe Yoroi would appreciate a companion.

"You're late," Andou deadpanned clearly to him. "Good morning. Head along to the academy, 2nd classroom to the right, and do 10 pushups for your tardiness." Andou's clone had further business to attend to in the village, so he wouldn't be able to escort him back, and he figured that a child as old as Ban wouldn't get lost.

(( Thank you biggrin Sad thing is that now I'll never be able to make another one like it >.< ))

Please keep walking, please keep walking thought Ban as he walked past Andou. Although the man wasn't an intimidating figure, at least when compared to the likes of his father, his rank and popularity made Ban fearful of any extra attention. In a clear demonstration of Ban's luck Andou took a second glance at him and stopped. Before Bansame knew what was happening he was being reprimanded for his tardiness and was told to report to the academy.

"Yes Sir. I apologize for my tardiness, Sir." Ban barely managed to squeeze his words out in proper time with Andou's questions. He could already tell that he was a man who did not skirt around words; Andou's statements were blunt and straight forward. "Will do. Thank you, Sir." Ban gave a quick nod before jogging off towards the academy. He had passed by the building several times before and knew the gist of it's location. Regret for not setting his alarm seeped into Ban's mind before being quickly pushed out. Whenever he began to regret anything he had done Ban always remembered something he read in one of his Father's books, which he had over time turned into his own mental chant.
There's no room for regret. Regret spurns no growth. Instead, reflect on previous actions. Where in regret one dwells on one thought, reflection takes that thought and applies it to every other thought.

By the time he had finished he was already passing through the Housing district gate and out into the center of the main island.

Zirca brought Hagane to the housing district which was just across the bridge from the village center. He walked purposefully but not too quickly, and made sure to check that he wasn't going too fast for Hagane. Actually, he hadn't been in this area for a while and marvelled at the changes that had happened. Many people had moved in and although each building looked the same on the outside, the residents had really added their individual touches of personality with decorations and even recolourings which gave the neighbourhood a charm of its own.

He made his way to a building larger than the rest, with a larger roof as well. It was Edo-style like all the other buildings and was three storeys tall. Rapping his knuckles smartly on the door Zirca didn't wait for a response and simply walked inside, beckoning Zirca to follow him.

The interior of the building couldn't be more different from the outside. Despite the wooden walls there was a smooth marble floor, and smart, modern lights hung from the ceiling and illuminated the place with a white glow. Zirca went upstairs to the very third floor and entered a room, which seemed to be the head honcho's room.

"Hi, Batou,"
he said cheerfully. "You won't guess what I have here. Well actually you probably can. This is Hagane," he gestured at Hagane as he talked, "and I'd appreciate it if you could handle registration for him and all that. He's new and everything."

The man behind the table blinked, a little owlishly, and took a good look at Hagane. He too was a gypsy like Zirca, although with lighter skin. He was dressed in a smart casual style, with slicked back hair reaching the nape of his neck and a small pair of round spectacles on his face completing the ensemble. All in all, he seemed like a pretty nice guy.

"Hello, Hagane-san. My name is Batou," he said, sliding over a form from a large pile on the side. It was for Hagane to fill out with his name, age, and other particulars like that. "If you would just fill this out while we walk a bit..."

[Enter from village]
Karake arrived in the housing district and followed his map around until he located block 11. He entered and checked his other paper. He then climbed the stairs all the way to the third floor, walked up to Apartment 3-B, and fumbled around in his pockets until he located a brass key. He turned it in the lock and entered the room. The first thing that caught his eye was that there were two beds. So, I'm going to have a roommate? he thought, all though the apartment was so clean that it was hardly possible for any one to have used it before he had arrived. The hardwood floor was nice, and the white walls with wood framing gave a nice traditional touch the the otherwise modern apartment. All in all Karake liked it. He set down his bag on the dresser on the right side of the room and sat down on the bed on the same side.

After sitting, and then laying down for about an hour, Karake got up and unpacked his large backpack. First his outfits: four identical to what he was wearing, save for the shoes, gloves, and flak jacket; two more casual but otherwise similar to his usual outfit; and one for cold weather. Next came his socks and underwear, seven pairs each. Afterward came a pair of cold-weather shoes, lacking the usual open toes and being a bit thicker. After that he hung his now empty bag on the hook along with his gray traveling cloak. He also took off his vest and gloves. The vest went on the hook and the gloves on top of the dresser. He then left the apartment, locked the door, and pulled out his map. He put the key away and found the shortest route to the academy. He marked it and proceeded to follow it.

When Triskal and Hiru finally got to the housing district, Mokujin had already been sitting in a pub for over an hour. Strangely, what was usually a full pub now had empty chairs and tables in a pretty large circle around the wooden man.

"Wow you guys sure took your time gettin' 'ere.", Mokujin said as he saw them walking in. He looked a bit at Triskal, obviously wondering what could have happened for him to be so banged up "Petit, I asked to jump in de trees, not fight wit dem...". The puppet man took one last sip of his sake before spinning his head 90 degrees to face the two boys.

"Ok, 'ere's de problem. Some parents at de school nearby have been buggin' me about some kids dat are pushing some of the students around and takin' deir lunch money. I need you to find out what dis ting is about and settle it. I'll be sittin' 'ere if you need me, you shouldn't have to go too far to get information."

As he finished his explanations, Mokujin grabbed both of them by the shoulder and said "I'm sure you guys can do dis, don't let me down."

As Mokujin let go of the shoulders, it was possible to see he had placed chakra strings on both of his students. Guess he wasn't so careless with his students after all... even though he had a strange way of showing it.]))

Triskal nervously tried to cover up the stains on his clothes. "Oh, its nothing!" he offered, and then trying to avoid the gaze of his Sensai, he slowly stalked away from the two. He looked behind him. The bar he was in was full of customers, any one of which would probably offer him information, but not without a price. Okay, he tried to think, Logically, the person who talks the most, and gets the most information is the barkeeper. I should probably talk to him, he look likes a honest man.

As Triskal tried to nonchalantly approach the bar though, he rethought his original plan. What kind of honest man would let kids as old as me and that other kid in? Well, with no other choose available, he decided to try it anyways, and so he took a seat at the bar, and sitting up as straight as possible, he tried to make some kind of small-talk. "So, business must be good this time of day, eh?" He began slowly, and then pretended to think deeply about something. "I heard-" But he suddenly choked up, and then decide to grab the bull by the horns. I heard there are some kids messing around here. A bunch of no good punks, who have been messing around at the school. They're probably bad for business, right? I mean, your loyal customers must be pretty startled at the thought of their kids being beat up for cash at school. I'm sure with some information, me and my friend could help you with your issue, give them a little lesson, maybe. Do you know who those guys are?" Triskal gulped slowly, waiting for the man's reaction.

Tsuro had a huge smile on his face when he saw a kid no older then ten years old walk up to him and talk about business and giving punks a lesson. Still, as strange as this may have seemed, the kid's words rang true. He guessed it would help some of his customers and the village if this little problem could be settled. "Hehe you're quite the little police-shinobi-to-be aren't you!" He finished cleaning up a sake cup and turned his attention back to the young boy: "I haven't heard much about it actually, not many people who hang around this place have young children." Realizing that the kid took this minor problem very seriously, Tsuro decided he'd play the game and bent closer to Triskal. He waived the young boy to come closer and whispered: "Still, this cute single mom who comes here from time to time told me that her son had seen a few rowdy kids go to the park next to the school after stealing a guy's lunch... but that's pretty much all I know...".

Tsuro then dropped his serious look and roughly messed up Triskal's hair while laughing. "Good luck with these troublemakers! And don't hang around this pub too long, it's not supposed to be a place for kids!", he concluded.

Hiru was a bit unsettled at the sight of a living puppet acting as though it was his sensei now... Still it was obvious it must have been a jounin, there was an air and an energy emanating from the puppet that screamed don't mess with me. He listened to his sensei's instruction and was pretty thrilled at the idea of doing a mission that didn't imply mopping up dirty aquariums.

Now, it seemed Hiru would have to work on his people skills. The "legendary" Hoshigaki charm was sure going to make this rough for him... It was notorious that people were usually more afraid for their safety than reassured by the presence of members of his clan. Nevertheless, he tried to find someone who looked nice enough and that maybe could help him out. He looked around until his search stopped on a ninja that was sitting a a table in the back of the store, looking pretty depressed. If someone wasn't going to be scared by a Hoshigaki, it was surely going to be him.

Hiru walked up to Kikoto who seemed completely lost in his thoughts, looking deep into his near empty sake cup. He pulled on his sleeve a bit to get his attention. "Excuse me mister... you look like a very strong ninja who'd know a lot of things.", he said, hoping this would cheer him up a little. "Would you have heard anything about kids who have been causing trouble to children from the school nearby by any chance?", he added.

Triskal smiled cheekily to himself. "Thank you kind sir!" he called out, and with another quick smile, he ran back towards his Sensai, elated that he had found such valuable information. Wait a minute, he thought, even if I know where they are, it doesn't mean I know who I'm looking for. He glared silently at the ground, shuffling his feet noisily. Looking around the faces of those gathered, he finally turned towards a young women, who was seated by herself near the back. Building up his courage, Triskal smiled sweetly and approached.

"Hi there," Triskal began innocently, "Do you think you could help me?" He smiled his deep sad smile, one that he only saved for special occasions. "Well, I'm doing this training, you see, and I need to know who those mean kids that are causing trouble around here are." His puppy dog face flashed before her. "Your a Shinobi, right? You understand how hard it is to do things around here, you can help me, right?"

Hitomi was studying her textbooks when a small child walked up to her trying to act all cute to get some sort of information. Unimpressed, she barely turned her eyes to him and answered very succintly. "I wouldn't be doing you any favors by answering your question so easily kid; if you want to be a good shinobi you have to learn to investigate by yourself.". She turned her eyes back to her textbooks. "Come back when you've done some digging."

Kikoto Dante had entered the store earlier with a terrible scowl on his face and a demonic aura emanating from his very core. They didn't call his family Dante for nothing after all - when properly set off they could raise hell and back. The customers of the store had shrank away from him as he'd stalked to the very back of the store and snarled out his order for strong sake. However now that he'd had a bit to drink Kikoto was significantly mellower. That's right, he was one of those melancholy drunks. Three large bowls of sake had knocked down most of his defences and when Hiru appeared blurredly in front of him, saying something that slowly sharpened into a request for information - oh, there was something pulling at his sleeve, was it an insect or something? Kikoto absentmindedly batted at the thing in all his melancholy glory whilst focusing on what Hiru had to say.

"A strong ninja?" he echoed bitterly. "Evidently not strong enough..." As he recounted the harsh memory from today's ANBU exam and the damning announcement of failure, his eyes grew frenzied and evil started to emanate from him again. However he focused on Hiru. "Are you a Hoshigaki?" he asked Hiru sceptically. "You blokes are pretty nice guys. My teammate was a Hoshigaki. Never hid behind false faces, him. Unlike those punks you're talking about," he added dismissively. "Half the time they're out there pretending they're Good Samaritans and mama's little boy. Those rich kids really have nothing better to do." Kikoto came from a poor family, so it was perhaps natural that he was so resentful of them...

Triskal angrily glared at the older girl. Stupid ninja with her stupid hat-shiny-cloth-thingy. They think they're all so great with their powers and jutsu and stuff. Triskal thought angrily, pulling away from her table and walking over towards the exit, he notice someone hiding by the doorway. The man smelt extremely bad and looked as if he hadn't shaved in weeks. "Hello?" He asked carefully, and then leaned forward, staring at the little man. Well, its always worth a shot, Triskal thought. "Sir," Triskal began, "Are you not supposed to be here or something?" he asked naively. "I wouldn't want to tell on you, but if I don't get some information on those punks at the school, I may need to tell the owner."

((Haha, Triskal is such a naive idiot. I still love him though.))

Inari strolled into the pub, this was the last place she though her first assignment would be. "I don't see the Sensai, do you Poka?" She looked around, the bear was no were in sight. Were did that cub go?

------

Poka didn't like this at all. He would rather had liked to stayed in Master's den and take a nap. But instead he was here in a smelly Feeders den, just his luck. Maybe this trip was punishment for stealing Master's breakfast?
He trotted past his Master, looking for this 'Sensai' she was talking about, but then saw it... A big wooden thing, kinda like the playthings that he loves to chow on at Master's den, but BIGGER!

------

Inari watched the cub go towards the puppet. What is that silly bear doing? Then, it was too late, there was Poka chowing on a puppets leg. "No Poka! That could be the Sensai's puppet!" She ran to the bear and polled on his collar. "Sorry" That was weird, I just apologized to a puppet! But looking up, Is the puppet drinking sake?!?

Mokujin's head turned about 60 degrees on his chest when he suddenly felt sharp teeth gnawing at his wooden leg. "I guess you must be de new student around 'ere...", he said, turning his eyes to the little girl. "My name is Mokujin Kugutsu, jounin and responsible for de mission de students are doing around here. Please join right in, de students are gathering information on some punks that have been bullying kids around de school grounds."

Mokujin took a short pause and turned his attention back to the somewhat large polar bear currently chewing his left shin. "Ok, either get dis ting off me or I will..." he finally said.
